I love credit cards so much!

My CIU arrived while we are on vacation! Now to change our homeowner’s insurer and pay with CIU. That will cover the majority of the required spend for 50k bonus.

I still need to book a hotel for our trip to Disney next weekend. I still can’t decide between Swan/Dolphin and POR or maybe just go for YC or BC using URs. I did load my PH tickets and was able to get Test Track for DS since that what he really wanted to do. It will definitely be a busy Sun going to 3 parks in a day but HS has EMMS so we can hit the couple of rides he wants to do there 1st, head to Epcot and then spend the remainder of the day at AK so at least we are getting lots of value out of the PHs which I won 4 of for $250 on a silent auction.

Staples RMN kicked in this time when I went there for some add’l school supplies since they weren’t on the list and picked up some more Disney GCs. I still need to get to BB & B before that offer ends tomorrow.

I still hate Gyft and the wait for approval. It’s just ridiculous. Although the Swych app is even worse since it won’t even let me check out using PayPal.

I’m trying to set up the online account for my P2’s new IHG Premier. I can’t figure out what I’m doing. Do I set up a completely separate login from his CIP or should both cards show up on his CIP account login? Not sure how it works, business vs personal.

You may have to setup a new account since it's personal, then you can ask to have them merged if you want them all on one. Personally I like them separate, but I also have a million logins already, what's one more?

If I go to the Chase site and try to enroll a new account I see this message "If you want to access business and personal accounts using the same username and password, enroll your business account first and then visit a Chase branch or call 1-877-CHASESPC (1-877-242-7372)." So since you have a business account setup already, you may be able to just call to have the personal card added to it instead if that's what you want.

I love seeing the brides and weddings taking place in WDW. Every so often I tell DH I’d like to do a Disney vow renewal. His response is always ok but then no ABD or DCL that year. Clearly my love of travel exceeds my desire for Cinderella’s coach pictures. Sigh ...

I have never seen Cinderella's coach but I am going to keep this in mind for when my kids start planning weddings . . . Although DH and I had a courthouse ceremony and I have never regretted it. Neither of us had any interest in planning a wedding at all.

I seriously considered kinda eloping and just having a nice party for our friends and family to celebrate. Really, that's all most people remember anyway is the reception. Unless the bride upchucks at the altar (true story) or someone loses their pants up there (sorta true story, that one was a funeral) not many people remember the ceremony except yourselves. But everyone remembers the reception and people still give us props on the venue for ours. So we could have saved a bit on the ceremony costs and just grabbed a couple witnesses instead, but glad we splurged on the party.

delta people...if I book a basic economy on the UR portal, there is no way to pay to choose a seat right? The delta site doesn't even show basic economy for the flight, but the UR portal does. I am so confused.

ETA: UR portal shows basic, main, and comfort
DL site shows main, comfort, first
I don't think I can transfer UR to delta anyways, so I guess I need to book thru the portal. So I need to do main so the kids don't end up sitting alone, right?

Cautionary tale on why I always advise planning the big trips two years out, giving yourself a year to accumulate the points so they are in place a year before you are ready to travel.

Yesterday, we got a corporate wide announcement that no one will be allowed to take more than 2 PTO days from mid November through the end of December. Fortunately, my Antarctica trip which leaves on Christmas day and returns 2 weeks later had already been approved so that was safe. However, I was planning on booking the Dubai/Maldives over-water bungalow trip trip for Thanksgiving 2019 :headache: Because our PTO time is based on fiscal year and not calendar year this leaves me scrambling to get this trip in this year before June :scared: You guys know I am stalking airline websites for award flights in first class as they are being loaded. Then, add the fact that I am married to the Plane Princess who will ask when we are flying a specific plane rather than when we are visiting a specific country o_O Emirates A380 was the request this round. So the task became find award flights on Emirates A380 in first class either going or departing the Maldives, with business class acceptable on the opposite end, add a stop over in Dubai and then secure over water bungalows for a few nights in the Maldives before the weather is insufferable in Dubai, so I have a 2 month window and all on points because this trip is not in the vacation budget. To be continued ...
I feel your pain with the vacation restrictions. We have been restricted from the two weeks at Christmas and New Yearswhich is, conveniently, when DS is off school. It is a department policy, so no one else has the same problems. Plus if you wait until the last minute, then beg, plead or come up with a sob story you may also get approved for those 2 weeks. But not if you plan ahead a year or 2 :sad1:

Sadly, the Walt Disney Family Museum is a bit underwhelming if you already know the history and therefore don't need to read stuff. There's some nice interactive stiff and listening stations but they aren't my kind of thing. I did enjoy all the different Disney music throughout. I didn't do the 9 old men exhibit since it was extra. Still go if you'll be here anyway and are a fan. The chocolate chip cookie at the cafe was good :o

It makes me crazy because it is corporate wide. In my position, the holidays are very slow and it is thee time of year when our sales projections are the lowest. You would think you want the revenue generating partners to take off during the slow times instead of when it is busy. Go figure.

It stinks that you aren’t able to be off and spend time with your DS during the holiday break.

I work in nutrition, which is included in food service. The director is strict and picky. Has a lottery for 2 people in the department to take off those weeks. The issue is there are 6 dietitians (including me) and 80 other employees in the department. Coverage is not the same. It’s not like the dishwasher can cover my job if I’m off (or vice versa) So lumping us together is ridiculous. Same as your corporate making the same policy regardless of position or how busy/slow that time of year is.

Basic economy doesn't get you a seat assignment, they will do that at the gate. Main will let you choose seats so you'll all be together (or at least as close as you choose!).

Thx. I don't understand why UR is selling basic economy though, when delta isn't. I just hate to pay the extra x6 people if it isn't necessary.

If sitting together is important I’d pay the extra or maybe book 3 tickets with the basic and pay main for 3 and hope for the best with switching etc. I found delta less than accommodating traveling with my kids. My husband had an aisle seat pre picked because I booked him with some points. I got the very last row with my daughter and they put my 11 year old up ahead in an aisle seat. Luckily someone was willing to switch for an aisle. Jetblue on the other hand was fabulous seating us all close.

omgosh the UR portal makes me want to :drinking1

The new portal (logging in on my CF) shows the new interface and all disney hotels. It does not show sale prices.
The old portal (logging in on DH CSR) doesn't show anything but Poly but shows sale prices. (for ex the 4 seasons shows a sale price on the old portal but not the new one.)

Could you book wdw sale prices, like free dining, through reg expedia or just the expedia specials? Or do you mean ot doesn't show pricing at all?

Got an email from delta yesterday about linking my skymiles to lyft and earning a mile a dollar for rides. 2 miles per for rides to/from the airport. It included two $10 off rides so I'm using it instead of uber because it's cheaper. Still use my csr too so double dip. She isn't talkative and doesn't have the radio turned up so yay. Enjoying the sun before we enter the fog I can see over the hill.

Flight was an hour late and the baby slept the whole way. They were connecting to a flt to India so hopefully she'll sleep more or at least continue not crying and fussing for them.

It’s not a lot but the skymiles connection to Lyft is pretty sweet. My miles for using Lyft posted quicker last time to my account than the skymiles for the flight!

I would pay it. Delta won’t hesitate to just fill in the basic economy seats into middle unoccupied. They are not concerned about families together. Honestly as a frequent Delta flier who pays more for 5 of us to sit together I am happy they don’t move people generally from their previously booked basic economy seats. Sorry but I get crabby about that!

sounds like fun! if u can swing for F, swing for F! their F product is a rare breed.
And F just opened up on another Cathay flight- but now IT’S MINE!!! I had to pay the AS change fee of $125 in addition to the 7500 AS miles but with you and basically the entire churning community saying it’s a very special experience I could not say no when I saw it open today! I’m almost a bit worried it’s too fancy for me, like I don’t deserve it but THIS is what I’ve been churning for. I have freaking earned it :D

(Not only will I get F from HK to the West Coast but I’ll come in during the morning leaving me lots of buffer time to clear customs and catch a connecting flight home.)

ETA: The lady on the phone did inform I would get a refund for the difference in taxes as the taxes were a whole $.90 cheaper :rotfl2:

Not sure today, but usually Expedia has the wdw discounted room rate reflected. Well, I know orbitz does. Not sure I have booked thru Expedia ever.

There aren’t middle seats, but I def wouldn’t expect people to move if I didn’t pay to sit with the kids. However, I don’t think they should even sell tickets like that to people traveling with kids to begin with. Seems that would solve any possible issues.
