I love credit cards so much!

That's something that stopped working last year. I would buy something to use as a gift or something you'll eventually use, a restaurant etc.
Thanks, I've been out of the loop on GC churning for a while. There's one more BBB I can try that's not too out of the way. If they don't have anything better I guess I'll just get Panera or movie theater GCs, which we'll use eventually.

@trenty - this might interest you.

Thanks. You think this would work? Nervous since my feet (and my IP address) are presently firmly planted on the ground.

I have tried via dummy booking. All he gets is 40,000 with the $100 statement credit which is the offer that expired on the 15th. But with the dummy booking that is what it still shows today.

I'm not sure either. When I click Get Started, it takes me to the application page. Although the landing page says Special Inflight Offer, I don't see anything on a quick read of the Offer Details about having to actually be in flight when applying. If you apply, hit Submit, it goes through, and you're approved, the 50k bonus should be attached to your card. Chase doesn't approve applications without the bonus attached. If you're ok with the 50k offer (remember there's a better 60k targeted offer, and the bonus has been as high as 70k), you can try submitting an application. Good luck!

DH got Tuesday off! Now I just have to figure out what the hotels are :scared1: Here's what I'm thinking:
  • Friday: Fly in late, land around 11pm
  • Saturday: I think Volcano Bay
  • Sunday: Disney waterpark
  • Monday: MNSSHP, and either hang out during day, upgrade to APs early, or Disney waterpark
  • Tues: either hang out during day, upgrade to APs early, or Disney waterpark depending on what we did Mon. 7:15pm flight home.

:offtopic: Any Delta experts - I have a question. So I am reviewing my flights for next Saturday. I see that for our first leg I have the window and middle seat chosen. These are the ones I picked. But now someone has picked the aisle seat in our row. Not normally a problem but there are 12 rows that appear to be fully open. 1) Can I pick new seats - the row directly behind which is open- for free? 2) If it is possible, should I do so? I have no problem sitting beside someone else but if there are open rows I'd rather try to get a row to ourselves.

Thanks. I will wait a bit for the targeted 60K offer. If not I may give this a try. Thanks again. Appreciate the info.

There's supposed to be an "add household member" to add it to, right? I just show the "move my points to" drop-down.

I think so. Right now I'm seeing cards under the "Move Points to" column and I don't want to muck around with it since it's working for me. But it says to change saved household member, I need to remove current saved card first.

Have your 24 hours passed yet?

First HUCA success story. Hubby called AmEx trying to work out the new Hilton Biz so we can use it on his current stay (checking out Sat morning). First call to AmEx to check on it, rep says it was just shipped yesterday, won't expedite a card until 10 days, and can't increase the CL limit on the temporary number. Said that was because we applied through Hilton's site and not AmEx and it's a limitation set by Hilton. He implied that if he ordered an employee card for me, that might be able to expedite. There was a lot of maybe going on there so hubby decided to wait and checked in with me. I said do whatever it takes, I'm not sure that'll work, but see what the next guy says and do the needful, hehe.

Calls back, gets a much more awesome rep. Hubby explains that he's in MA right now and he needs the card for his hotel stay that's over the 1k limit on the temporary number, can they expedite something to him there to be able to use his HILTON card at a HILTON? Rep got his supervisor, they discussed it, called the hotel and verified it!, came back and said they'd be overnighting a card to the hotel and it'll be there tomorrow. I'll be very :D when it happens, but for now I'm cautiously optimistic he may at least get it by check out on Saturday. If it actually shows up on Friday I may figure out how to give that guy an awesome comment card.

Fingers crossed this doesn't all go down the tubes and we wind up with random cards shipping around the country :)

Just a little update, the card actually arrived today! I was happily surprised. Didn't immediately solve all the problems, but got a step closer.

Hubby verifies it/activates it and gets it all setup online. Notices that it's only showing a 1k CL, no mention of the full limit shown anywhere, d'oh! So he called up AmEx to confirm he actually has more than 1k and the phone rep only sees 1k as well, says can take up to 24 hours before the full CL updates and have access to it. :headache: Explains to rep that the whole reason he got it expedited and shipped to the hotel is because he's checking out first thing in the morning tomorrow and pretty sure the hotel would like an approval on the money before then. It didn't say anywhere on the temp number screen that there was a delay and the reps yesterday didn't say anything - they were sure it would work and solve the problem. Rep puts him on hold to fiddle with some things, comes back and says I think I overrode it but I can only get it to 2,500, will that be enough? Yep that's fine.

He says that the spending power link on the account confirms it will let him charge 2500 now, so I think we may finally be good? Man, don't count on an instant number.

You can change your seats whenever you want, I often look to see if people have moved/upgraded so I can move closer to the front. You may not want to pick the row right behind you though because the same thing could happen. Some people (like me) want to be as close to the front as possible and if picking a window (me) or an aisle (person in your row) don't care if there's already people in that row as long as the seats empty because the planes probably going to fill up anyway.

Oops. For some reason I thought chase travel closed at 10pm instead of 9pm est.

I'm trying to get a room at All Star Sports... it seems to make the most sense.

Not yet. 24 hours would be at like 1am tonight.

I think I’m just going to wait in the morning to try to transfer the points again.

I'm playing the waiting game now. I tested fate and applied for the Barclays Aviator. I already have two accounts with them and getting 3 or more is hard. I do use my Barclays cards regularly which supposedly helps... but my app went to pending. So we'll see. I need those sweet American miles! I was originally going to app for DH for this instead... but he canceled the card last summer... and Barclays has the 24 month systemwide rule about same accounts/can't get bonus.

Sigh.

I am finally a grown up with a charge card! Instant approval today for the Amex Business Gold. Excited to figure out MR’s finally. :)

I know this is not a popular thought but I am a little worried that the take over of the UR portal by Expedia might be bad news on the UR front. I figured it is probably a good time to focus on diversifying a little more and not just focus on skymiles and UR’s.

Does anyone here use YNAB, and also fund bank accounts with CCs for bonuses? My budget is completely screwed up, because I can't figure out how to categorize these transactions. Technically they aren't spending, since I pull the money back out to pay the CC bill (or move money from my savings to cover it temporarily if I have to leave the $ in the account for a while to get the bonus/avoid fees) but since it's a charge that has to be paid back to the CC I want to make sure it's reflected in my CC payment line in my budget. I've gone back to May (the first time I CC funded a bank account) to try to fix it and I feel like I'm just messing it up more. I'm about ready to throw in the towel and do a "fresh start" on my budget but I know there are some YNAB users here so wanted to see if you all have any tips before I do anything drastic, lol.

Shouldn’t be a problem, I changed seats 12 hours before a Delta flight on Wednesday AM. No issues.
