I love credit cards so much!

I think I'm going to go ahead and get a Hilton Biz for DH today. That way it won't mess with any other plans and should be here in time for my car payment, since I'm expecting at least a week out on that. Then I will give myself a week or two to debate the Marriott Personal. Or consider SPG Lux if it does come out before the 26th.
  • Aug: DH Hilton Biz, maybe Marriott personal
  • Sept: MSR(s), optimize spend/max out offers; DHs CSR AF should hit 10/1, will probably just keep it
  • Oct: MSR(s), optimize spend/max out offers
  • Nov: DH refers me to CIP (finally under 5/24); My CSR AF will hit 11/1 so use credit and downgrade to CF/CFU depending on Q4
  • Nov/Dec/Jan: Start looking at SW CP card options for DH (he will be 1/24); Also keep eye out for good AMEX Plat offer...
  • 2019: Start considering double dip CSR/CSP for me (I will be 3/24, DD would put me at 5/24 until 6/19)
Hmmm... How much would Chase hate me if I kept flipping between CF/CFU depending on the quarter? :rotfl: I'm not truly considering this.

Three stays this summer...one was $5-- so since I had four or five offers at check out put $300 (triggered credit) then $2--. Next stay I put what I needed left for the $2-- credit plus any reminder on anither card with the offer so say $45. Third stay made sure I put $255 on that stay so ended up with 3 credits of $60.

Hope that makes sense--if greater than $300 put on two cards then tried to get the necessary balance with a different stay

Awesome, I wasn't sure if we had confirmed data points that cumulative charges worked for the hotel credits. They don't usually have the magic "one or more transactions" type language on them so wasn't sure if it needed to be one $300+ charge or if multiple charges equaling $300+ worked. This is good to know. :thumbsup2

So taking our first Disney Cruise in March. Any downfalls with using Disney gift cards? I am comfortable with doing it at WDW and have done it a dozen times. We have DVC so the rooms are usually taken care of and gift cards are just for park tickets/APs and spending while there. Am I missing something protection wise with using gift cards? I am purchasing travel insurance from a different source.

If you can make it work when you are 3/24 I’d get another Chase card and do the double dip at 4/24.
Hmm, this is true. I wouldn't have terribly long to wait overall... Current history is: 9/16, 10/16, 5/17, and 2 in 9/17. And I'm sure the $8k spend will keep us busy, though I'm holding the PNC funding in my pocket for that. But definitely noting on my spreadsheet so I don't forget!

I always pay for my cruise with gift cards (going on number six in less than three weeks!). The only downside in my opinion is if you cancel, you are stuck with gift cards. I've never worried about that because I knew I could just use the refund for another cruise. For Alaska, paying with gift cards probably saved my mom and me about $2000.

:lmao:

OMG I lol’ed so hard. I was thinking, “I gotta get them all” (but not Pokémon) yesterday as I was plotting when to go for the Marriott Premier Plus! I already have the SPG Biz and Personal, and Marriott Biz, and I’ll be shut out of the SPG Lux unless it comes out before 8/26, so I need the personal Marriott to complete my Starriott quadfecta. (I let the Ritz-Carlton slip by or else I’d have a pentafecta. And with the SPG Lux, I could’ve made an Infinity Gauntlet out of those six cards. Or at least close to a free week of stays.)

OMG Infinity Gauntlet :rotfl:That's what I'll be thinking of now when I see any reference to these cards!

Also - I should get me and DH employee cards for each other's accounts, since they won't count against anything and should still work with AMEX offers even after issues this round, since it'd be different names?

I got up at 5:50 to check in for our SW flight tomorrow. Still ended up boarding # B2. :badpc: For once I was hoping to sit up front since no little kids will be with me. Maybe I can upgrade at the airport. I can't believe that many people were checking in so early or paid for EBCI, but I guess they do.

ETA: But in good news, I have had good luck the last couple days playing around with refresh/modify on the app. I even got AS2, although late in the day. Hoping to modify it earlier eventually.

We are flying southwest for the first time this October. Is it hard to get seats together? It’ll be just Dh and I.

I have never gotten A boarding when checking in 24 hours early. Did not even know it was possible. One time I checked in 24 hours early and got Cs! And wouldn't you know, we still sat together near the very back of the plane. On our way home we got late Bs, like maybe B50-54 and there was nothing together. NOTHING. So it very much depends. I guess maybe the 2nd plane was smaller, not sure. So only 1 time have I not been able to sit next to at least 1 of my party. I am a nervous flyer and very much need a knee or hand to squeeze during take off and landing. I think my family might like it better if they don't sit next to me. lol

I did 3. One for me and one with my spam email. You just need to link all emails to PayPal

What about AU'ers? My dd18 is an AU'er on my CF. I could have her download the app, set up a RMN account but should I use the CF, or just have her use her own CC? I only miss out on the 5x but I don't like missing out on anything lol.

We've gotten late B or C when checking in 24 hours before also. We've been able to board with family boarding up to our last trip, and always had 6 seats together (we head to the back). Now my youngest is 7 so we'll have to take our rightful spot in line.

When dh & I went to FL this past April, we had b36 and b40 and we had no trouble sitting together. I'm guessing maybe you did have a smaller plane on your second trip??

Wow normally with Southwest I always get late A boarding checking in at 24 hours if I get B I’m upset lol. I normally take the first or last flight though so I wonder if that makes a difference.
