I love credit cards so much!

Thank you! And oh, I forgot, my dh has a CF...I need to get him to download the app too so we can do his also!
so I assume I could set up 2 diff RMN accounts on the app and link my 2 CF cards to them? Or is that a bad idea?

I'm amassing gift cards at discount to pay off my DVC dues next time around and also for a little free spend at Disney in November. 3 Best Buy offers, plus the BBB offers and now my one lonely Staples offer gave me $1000 for $890. I need roughly $2900 but have a stash already plus this recent windfall. Some are 5% discount, some 10% and some 20%. I try to work in the purchases in my regular travels and live where there are multiple stores, so I think it is easier for me, plus being retired I have time to spend.

10% of 3k is almost $300 back in my pocket. I'll take it. (Plus add in the credit card rewards on the 3K spend.) In the 'old' days 3k spend on my Amex spg was worth a weekend night at an Aloft or Sheraton on the way to Disney, which was roughly $125- $175 in value so it all comes together.

Your stash should depend on your goals - I'll always or most likely always have a goal of $3500-$4000 in discounted Disney gift cards in a year with most going to dues.
Here's where I'm a little at loose ends.... I have a stash of Dis GC,and no trip planned (i used them for dining etc while there) I don't intend to go back for a couple of years..... so I don;t know that it's wise for me to sink any more $ into that right now (limited budget) so I've gotten a bunch of Amazon gc (love Prime etc) and a few visa gc(yes I paid the 6.00 fee) now I'm still using the gc I got last quarter on groceries (those go too fast) and plan to get some more visa gc at staples etc to use the deal. even with the fee I come out ahead...I register the visa gc on the website, does this make them any safer to keep and use? I swear spending them on groceries ,it seems like I run thru them like water at this point(I guess we eat too much!) if I assign my visa gc a pin,can I use at a gas station?

About to buy 2 of those kid gizmo watches at Verizon. It looks like RR Shopping has a good promo, assuming they qualify, and I don't see where they don't. I was wondering if I should split into 2 transactions to get this rebate twice? Ya'll see where I am missing anything in the small print? And should I use CIP?

I got up at 5:50 to check in for our SW flight tomorrow. Still ended up boarding # B2. :badpc: For once I was hoping to sit up front since no little kids will be with me. Maybe I can upgrade at the airport. I can't believe that many people were checking in so early or paid for EBCI, but I guess they do.

ETA: But in good news, I have had good luck the last couple days playing around with refresh/modify on the app. I even got AS2, although late in the day. Hoping to modify it earlier eventually.

I already hold SPG biz and pers.-was thinking of getting DH that new spg biz 100k offer-it's a great first year deal...he'll be 4/24 by October and I don't want to screw up my (his) Cp plans..... good idea or not? It almost seems like the offer was tossed out there to lure unsuspecting churners away from the real prize...that won't appear till after the 26th...it's making me crazy! But I'm also a sucker for the starriott points, even tho I have no earthly idea what I plan to do with them in the future at this point(maybe I will once I see the value season charts) ETA...... (sigh) I'm adding this to try and keep myself on track here...... so I was thinking for right now..... DH SPG biz(as long as I can be sure it won't mess with his x/24 status) and for me (I already have both spg cards but not marriott) I don't care much about the x/24 for myself so no chase-(I don't think) I just finished the Hilton spends- considering the BoA card from a few pages back, that seems like a great deal(if I can get it) for random travel stuff..... sound intelligent?

Great! May I ask you what you mean by split payments? I'd been toying around with something else. We're driving down tomorrow night, we'll stay at an SPG property in Jacksonville. I booked one for maybe 3k points, but DH is picky and wants to stay where we have before. It's 7k points or $150ish. I think it's a better cash value than points. What if I pay for that room on my SPG Amex, wondering if that will combine with our Swan expenses.

Three stays this summer...one was $5-- so since I had four or five offers at check out put $300 (triggered credit) then $2--. Next stay I put what I needed left for the $2-- credit plus any reminder on anither card with the offer so say $45. Third stay made sure I put $255 on that stay so ended up with 3 credits of $60.

Hope that makes sense--if greater than $300 put on two cards then tried to get the necessary balance with a different stay

Download the app. Create an account or log in if you have one. On the home screen there are little tabs on the top. One says cash back. It will list all the promos. You need to link a credit card. Once you use the credit card it will go pending and then you get a balance which can be redeemed via PayPal. Walgreens was $10 off $30 now it is $5 off $25. It worked on gcs for me. I used my CF for 5x UR. You can use the offer again once it is confirmed. Took about 3 days for me.
:cool1: thanks!

We are flying southwest for the first time this October. Is it hard to get seats together? It’ll be just Dh and I.

Thanks! I've never used the site before, and it makes me a little nervous given how glitchy Disney IT can be. But I also can't see calling to pay with a dozen $50 gift cards . . .

I love the fact they let you combine now...it used to be such a pain...I have probably done close to $20k in gift card combines through the site and have never had any issue.

I don’t think moving your statement date will do anything unfortunately (although I wish you luck!). My AF posted 7/24 (the day my statement closed) and the rep specifically cited 7/7 as my anniversary date.

I’m annoyed but I was gonna cancel the card anyways (even with the free night). And I didn’t put another dollar on this card after earning the signup bonus...and I maxed out referrals on it...

So yeah I’m basically a spoiled brat, haha! I just wanted a free night before I cancelled (like I even need a free Marriott night anyways, LOL!!)
:rotfl:
I guess all I'll have done is delay my retention call by 2 weeks then. Idk what I'll do, the free night would be perfect for next Summer but were going to need 4-6... I'll have to do some research again before I make the call shop I'll know if I should cancel

Instead of the Marriott Biz, how about the SPG Biz with their new offer? Same points in the long haul....just a higher spend.
We've both got SPG biz cards :)

No. Well, we board as family usually, between groups A and B. It isn't hard for us and at least the first half of the B group. Not sure after that. Kinda depends how many families board before your group.
I have never purchased EBCI. You will be fine to sit together if you check in at 24 hours. You just will probably be towards the back of the plane.

I have rarely done EBCI and never have issues sitting together as long as I check in exactly 24 hours before.

Question for those with the CP - I will be flying with CP for the first time next week. Do I have to check us in separately? Or when I check in will my companion automatically get checked in too?

Thanks! It was only $10 more to include breakfast for the 3 of us so we’ll be having breakfast at the hotel. I am guessing the pizza place has pasta? I think I have the only child who doesn’t like pizza. We might hit Captain George’s there also. And I know DH has plans to go to Dave and Buster’s on Wed, his obsession.

I know this issue, my dd didn't eat pizza until her mid teens!! Made it very tough to go to birthday parties throughout her childhood. I actually got violently ill after eating pizza as a child and didn't eat it myself for many years. My dad hates cheese so he's 73 and won't eat pizza LOL.

My 40,000 MR after I referred myself and SO to the BGR posted today.

..

I only get 10k for each referral, cuz it was from our BGR, but ours posted today too!!! Love it!

You check in separately. It is a little tricky and I made the mistake of thinking it was automatic. Which led to tears on the airplane. ‍♀️

I think I remember diff ressie numbers, so individually. Because you make your ressie and then go in and add the companion to it. I want to say they are diff. I don't have any booked at the moment to verify, unfortunately.

We will definitely be checking in at 24 hours. It’ll be an early two days for us because our flight leaves at 5:30 am. That means our check in is at 5:30 the day before right?

I'm probably not alone in having this complaint...but I miss out on the SPG free night by 25 days! My cardmember anniv. is 7/7/18 and my annual fee posted 7/24/18 with my statement close. I applied for the card in July last year because I was getting my roof done in early August. Now I wish I'd have procrastinated on getting the roof done, haha. I called in just to discuss the frustration and they didn't even offer a retention offer at all on the card. They were willing to just let me cancel, so I'll probably do that on a subsequent call after I've had a chance to think about it.

Some of my most regretted closures happened in the heat of the moment...I should have just waited a week to think about it. Smart choice IMO.

We were B 4&5 in December and had the front row...there is a chance!!
