I love credit cards so much!

Unfortunately no. You’ll end up with a travel credit when you cancel the cash reservation which will make no sense in your situation. Given your timeline, it’s likely those fares will be way higher in Jan. If I were in your shoes, I’d look to use URs or find a way to buy some discounted Southwest GCs and pay that way.
I was thinking of CIC for DH who is 4/24. He got CIP 5/2/18 and I want him to get SW biz 11/18, so thinking of going for CIC in July/August. Too much?

a couple pages back Calypso talked about ABD thread, what is the ABD thread? I can usually google and figure out the acronyms but that has me stumped.

I’m pretty sure it’s Adventures by Disney

Yes, it is the Adventures by Disney thread. Pretty much the only other thread that I post regularly besides here. We do at least one per year. Very friendly and nice people there too!

Question for those who've done Japan or are planning on it...round trip First Class from the east coast to Tokyo on ANA costs 120K miles via Virgin Atlantic. I'd have to call to book, so I can't see what the cash fees are. But the same trip costs 220K + $91.62 using United miles. If the fees are roughly the same with Virgin, isn't it a no brainer to get a Marriott N+F package for Virgin miles and pair them with some converted URs? What am I missing?

 How did I not know this? You mean, you just have to be a prime member, you don't have to have the prime visa? How do you prove you have prime?
There's an app to download. I was at WF last night and hadn't downloaded the app yet, so they gave me a courtesy Prime discount this time, along with a pamphlet on what to download and how to use it for next time. I got the discount on my bulk items and on a couple of things that were already on sale. It's not on everything.

UGH on the Pointsguy outing the CIP on Plastiq. I've just gotten started with Plastiq, and I love it. I think someone here said it best a while back when the Amex/United App thing was messed up: This is why we can't have nice things :(

I never seem to be targeted for the Amazon deals either. Not sure why.

It's more likely TPG is getting affiliate commission from the CIP, and they're using Plastiq earning 3x to drive signups for the CIP.
I clicked on his plastiq link and it’s a dedicated link. I had .com/the-point-guy

I have been paying my student loans through Plastiq and my recent payment was "rejected" by my student loan office. It was really close to my payment date when they notified me so my payment was considered late. I was NOT very happy about this. We had paid the last two months with no problems so I'm not sure what happened.
