I love credit cards so much!

I would just put her name as the business name. Plenty of people have done far worse with that with only "businesses," so your mom should be fine.

She can always refer him for a card later and he can have one in his name too, so that would be an additional 100k URs for them!

Thanks for your tips! She has applied and been approved for the CIP!

@Lain and other Plastiq users - do you think I'd have any issues paying both mine and my DH's student loans through my Plastiq account? Not wanting to risk a Plastiq shutdown!
I missed this earlier... we paid off a car loan in my husband's name, with $500 from his Plastiq acct (I referred him for fee free dollars) and the other $12k from my Plastiq acct, split between 3 cards - in his name, MILs name, and FILs name. No issues.

Double dipped SO for the Sapphires and he got two instant approvals.
Congratulations :dogdance: on the double dip. Hoping to do the same later in the year so I really like these data points!

Rumored Chase FREEDOM Q3 5x Bonus Categories:
  • Lyft
  • Walgreens
  • Gas Stations
Now I have to tell DS to go back to using the CF for gas. I added him as an AU. I had just given him my extra CIC card since it was 2x UR on gas. He listens much better than DH. I went through a long story of which cards to use and what my strategy was and at the end I got "I don't know what you just said and I'll never remember it". ok dear, just use the staples GC I bought (10% off) and the Giant Eagle GC I bought in 1Q (on the CF). Next card I get for him, might just stay in my wallet:rolleyes1

I usually get gas at GetGo (GiantEagle). They sell gift cards as well. Thinking that might code as gas as well...

Gas stations...does sams or Costco gas code as gas?
Costco gas does code as gas on my Chase cards (CIP/CIC/CF)

On the Arizona topics: Been to Arizona twice. First time did Sedona, Jerome, Camp Verde, Grand Canyon, Montezuma's Castle and Tuzigoot ruins. Loved it. At the Grand Canyon, I did mostly the rim trails but did venture down the canyon for about 1/2 hour. I was on a solo trip and panicked about getting back out with no one to help me:crutches: so I didn't go farther. Wasn't going all the way! Next trip, 11 year later, was me and 2 adult kids. We also did Sedona (love that place), Grand Canyon and then on to Utah (Zion and Bryce). The kids did about 2.5 hours total of down and back up in the canyon. My knee kept me from doing that. They said up was much harder than they had thought it would be. That was at Bright Angel. Both trips were abut one full day at the Canyon which is enough if you are just doing the rim.

@WVMomof3 Which Residence Inn did you stay at in Vegas? Is it this one? https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_R...e_Inn_Las_Vegas_Airport-Las_Vegas_Nevada.html

I can only find one Embassy Suites by the airport and it appears to be undergoing some pretty big renovations. For one night though, may not be a big deal.

ETA: Embassy Suites says it's by the Convention Center...is that by the airport too? No clue where anything is in Vegas!

Sorry it was Embassy Suites on Swenson Street. It had some swans in the lobby.

And it was Fairfield Inn and Suites South near Mandalay Bay

@disneymagicgirl, weren't you looking for a deal on AirPods?

I just ordered a pair for DW through Google Express, sold by Adorama Camera. I had a 20% off Dad and Grads targeted coupon code for existing users (tied to your account) and an Amex Offer for $20 statement credit on $60 spent on Google Express. The coupon took $31.80 off and the Amex Offer will save me another $20, for a total $123.50. Downside is it's estimating delivery by July 6.

Yes. I was planning to get some tomorrow at Costco. I don't have the amex offer on any cards. Not sure on the coupon code for google express. I think they are $140 at Costco. I could get a visa GC at Home Depot first for 10% back minus fee, but not worth the extra effort. Thanks for thinking of me!:flower1:

Oh man, she applied today and already approved? I put my app in yesterday. Still getting the 2 week message. I have been trying to control my calling the status line, only 4 calls in about 32 hours. Think I'm doing pretty good compared to some of the every hour callers. I am leaving in the morning on a trip and will get back Monday and leave again Tuesday for Disney. I may not remember to even call again. Maybe it will just be in my mailbox when I get home!

Funny, I was just thinking about this today. When I was in the hospital (several years ago) after having my daughter they gave me ginger tea. It was ginger ale heated up with a tea bag. It was delicious.

Interesting. I bet that would be really soothing for morning sickness, or in my case 24/7 sickness. Funny thing is I was a postpartum nurse and have never heard of this.

Still catching up on today's posts but thought I"d share my joy on an Amex offer I just used. I had the Sam's dot com spend $30 and get a $15 statement credit on my Everyday card and the Hilton Aspire card. I realized that the offer expires tomorrow, so I went to see about getting some Disney GC's as Sam's online. I didn't realize that they don't have the $50 GCs available online and my only option was the $150 for $142.98 which is a nice 7% savings, add the additional $15 off and I call that a win. I was planning to get two sets, one for each Amex offer. When I was checking out I for the first set, I realized that I could split the payment with 2 credit cards! So now I am getting $150 in Disney GCs for $112.98! 28% off is even better! I am absurdly happy about this 28% off!

Anyone here use Coupon Cabin? I think I heard about it from Doc. It’s a cash back portal, but they have these flash deals where you can claim one flash deal every 30 days. Things like $75 off a $75 purchase at Amazon etc. You have to be on at a certain time and be one of the first ones to claim the offer. I signed up back in April. I never would get the offers for Amazon, target, Best Buy. The first offer I claimed I ended up getting $50 off a $50 hotels.com purchase but I didn’t realize you had to book that night and I didn’t have any plans for it so it went unused. Well I was eligible again tonight and got $50 off a $50 purchase at Old Navy. I just ordered some clothes and hope it tracks. I’m a little worried, but I guess if it doesn’t track I can return them.

ETA they have a $50 off $50 shop Disney purchase that’s still available. I wish I got that one instead of old navy.

Final product. What do u guys thinks?

It looks great!!! You've got a couple of my future travel plans on there. Etihad Apartment and Maldives. Well, Maldives or FP whichever winds up being more convenient.

Thanks for the welcome and the advice! Yes, I'm going to have to crunch some numbers wrt CSR/CSP. We don't spend much on dining out (though that may change once youngest leaves for college and recent-college-grad middle moves into an apartment this summer---they have serious food allergies and restrictions).

Travel spending is increasing each year. Do DVC dues count under the travel category?

Catching up but wanted to say :welcome: and yes, DVC does code as travel. We tend to pay our annual DVC dues with Disney gift cards that we purchase for 5x UR between the Freedom quarterly bonus categories or the Ink+ which is not available anymore but the CIC carries the same bonus category. You get 5x at office supply stores so we our Ink to purchase Disney GCs at Staples or Office Max/Depot.

Ugh. I'll be at $0 Q3 if that's the case.

Walgreens carries Disney GCs so we will be maxing it out.

Forget the Maldives, tell me about over-the-water bungalows in French Polynesia. Apparently that’s on my wife’s wanderlist.

Conrad Nui in Bora Bora can be had for Hilton points, Intercontinental Thalasso, Moana or Moorea with IHG points. DH's bucket list is overwater bungalows with clear water (sorry, no Poly at WDW) and he doesn't care if it's the Maldives or FP. I've been working on that for for about 3 years or so in addition to all of our other trips. The plan is for 2020 and so far we have a little over 700,00 points in IHG and a little over 700,00 with Hilton. Between finsing availability and then hacking the flights it will likely wind up being my most challenging redemption.

yeah, i saw a post on awardtravel on reddit. overwater ones for 95k was pretty cheap. Hilton was the only one that allows you to book this.

They do make it easy. I think it was the St. Regis that is also building underwater bungalows. I believe I will be going for that too when I start the quest for booking this trip.

Definitely a 'bucket list' item for me! The idea of being able to do this for cheap/free is what pulled me 'all in' to CC churning. I knew @calypso726 was planning it so I pm'ed her...got some details and inspiration.

It's a long ways to go without kids though. Not sure I could settle and enjoy being that far away anytime soon!

We are getting closer towards making it become a reality!

thanks! SQ F, now Etihad, your on a roll! :D

St Regis, the problem i found was you cant book any of those crazy rooms on points. ppl say that to get status with the hotel chain and try to get upgraded but thats a bit tough for me.
I may simply chase those Hilton points though, but i do see it available on Chase Portal, just not the chain ones(ie SPG, IHG, Hilton).

I had the 24/7 sickness too with a couple of mine. I actually tried ginger tea with my oldest. It did not work for me. Peppermint was my soothing remedy. My grandma, who is turning 90yo soon, told me that was what all the ladies used when she was young and having her babies. It couldn't be regular peppermints though. Had to be more pure. My sickness never really went away but it did help :)

How do you get into the room? Without letting in water? Is the door accessible from out of the water?

We are getting closer towards making it become a reality!

Can't wait to see how you make this happen so I can live vicariously through you until it is my time :)
