The wanna get away fares to go home for thanksgiving are gone already for me.

Keep watching! When I first tried to book our Christmas flights I could not find much then days later a bunch opened up and I got what I wanted... The Christmas day return flight went all the way down to 2k pts from like 24k so sounds like they goofed by holding flights back.

something strange was when i booked it was total 64k rt for my family and about 10 minutes later i went to check for another flight and it was 25k more points then original. guess i got lucky!!

I could be the minority, and probably am, but I don't always find WGA fares on opening day. Either they only released 2 seats or they held them back when I looked. However, usually within the week I see them and they aren't bad. So don't lose hope.

For Discover, there is usually a date noted on the offer where you have to make the required deposit requirement by. I believe it's usually 2 weeks following the expiration of the offer, but I have seen this vary depending on which code or time of the offer. It is noted specifically, though, so just take note depending on when you apply. Because the window can be small and Discover also had 'holds' on your funds sometimes, it can be tricky if you try to deposit and withdraw a few times to make the cumulative deposit requirement. It's a lot less stressful if you don't have to sweat out transferring, but I think 1-2 should be fine. I remember Discover noted the funds weren't available after deposit for 3-4 days sometimes, again, which may take you close to the expiry.

As for the Chase checking, the DD just needs to be posted within 60 days from account opening, not the expiration of the offer itself. My DD was for $25 from an M&T account I previously opened. The bonus posted the following Tuesday, which is consistent with what others have said, after my DD posted, sometimes it could be delayed by a week if your DD was on a Friday for example. When it comes to the Chase savings @1st*toright covered it. Mine is still in the midst of the 90 day period, but I expect it to post soon and it's comforting to know that @1st*toright got it 3 days after the 90 day window. I'll be transferring all but $300 of that 15K once it posts to keep it fee-free until I can close it 3 months down the road. Likewise with the checking, but it's $1,500 min to keep it fee-free.

:bounce::bounce: If MPX goes back to coding "properly" on the Amex Plat, I would be  with my Plat on the way. That would make the MSR that much easier...:hyper: one can hope

You can also use Paypal through the Raise app :)
for the PPoptions like gyft and swytch and raise, are you getting gc at a discount,or juts getting them for extra points on PP purchase?

Wow. I never would have expected it to go down once the wanna get away fares were gone. I’ll keep looking. Right now Delta is cheaper and less miles even accounting for the fact I have to buy two tickets instead of one and the companion pass.

Chase really needs to get their act together as far as when they send out their approval emails. I was so confused this morning when I saw "you've been approved!" as a subject line. At first I thought I've been hacked, then I thought maybe I put my information in my sister's account or something. Then I realized it was for the card that arrived over a week ago. I guess that's what happens when I check emails before coffee!

From my understanding Cardmatch means that you qualify for that card, according to your credit report, they don't take anything else into consideration.
But I don't qualify..... according to my credit report I've opened too many apps in 24 months to qualify

For those who always ask "when" Southwest flights will be available:
  • The release times that I've tracked recently have been 6:55am; 8:10am; and today was approx. 7:35am eastern. I think a range of 7am - 8:30am continues to be a reasonable expectation...but Southwest can do whatever they want.
  • There were some reports of people unable to book via mobile first when they first released this morning while others were fine booking on the desktop site. (I also noticed the ability to search were different on the two versions initially)
  • The next release is: On June 28, 2018 we will open our schedule for sale through March 6, 2019. That could change and you can track it here

In your great knowledge, oh wise one :worship: would summer 2019 flights release around the end of this year? I was trying to figure that out the other day :)

Yeah that I am sure was accidental, I must have rebooked that trip 4~5 times as it kept going down, I got back near 75k points over three tickets. My next two opening day bookings (June/Oct trips) have only soared since release day, in fact one flight must have only had two WGA fairs as it went sold out right away and the other went up like 20k by evening.

I don't think they have all the internal rules the CC companies have outside of the stuff that makes up your credit scores (AAoA, credit limits, total score, etc) I think they qualify it per card not per individual. So if card A requires a 650 credit score and 4 years of history, they check that and offer it up if you match. But card A's issuer looking at the person requires less than 5/24, that's different.
It's really the same as Chase sending folks here offers for 1. cards they already have when you can only hold 1 of them and/or 2. are over 5/24 and couldn't get the card even if they wanted to. Chase knows their own rules but when looking at pre-qualified offers those things don't seem to be taken into account. I'm sure people with more than 5 AmEx credit cards get offers too.

That has me thinking, I wonder if they'd offer up a service for a small fee that throws all this extra info in and then only shows you stuff you'd actually get a approved for. Or more like give you warnings "hey you'd qualify for this offer BUT yer LOL/24 so YMMV. Good luck!". Be a good way to double dip fees from enterprise and consumers :)

I really feel a twitch to just book something... DW has already warned me no more trips this year as Disney three times is 'overly excessive.' Me - Eh, we can get another in!

thanks for the clarity

All this talk of Southwest makes me sad that Southwest flights out of my city are so bad :( I miss the days of direct flights to MCO!

Hmm what am I missing here? If I try to add another night, it wants to charge me the additional 7500 points?

ETA: I just tried rebooking and it shows 5 nights for 30,000!! Am I missing anything? I just book the five nights into Monday and leave that Sunday morning when I planned to? No issues?

If you have the Marriott app, it makes it really easy - leave your hotel as planned on Sunday, then go in and checkout on the app on Monday morning :o)
I bought tickets for Hamilton in Chicago for my daughter this past February - got great seats on stubhub in the stalls for $220 each (and used an amex offer) - I think face value was like $575 each. These were bought in early december so about 2 months before the show.

All this talk about Hamilton and Chicago. We have season tickets that will get us 4 seats at the touring show coming here next season - yay. Had to get an extra 2 tickets for the season because my little one is just as obsessed with Hamilton as her big sister and there was no way I could just bring my teenager. The season tickets (far back, but a good view) were about $220 a seat, so I see it as getting Hamilton tix for all of us and getting 5 or 6 other shows for free :o)

They put a caveat that you had to ALSO donate $100 to the theater to have access to the pre-sale for tickets, then cut off the pre-sale list like 6 days after the season ticket renewals were sent. Fortunately I had faxed in my season renewal (and my $100 of extorted cash) a few hours before their cut off, so I should be able to buy 2 more tickets in the pre-sale. It's such a circus!

Good idea! I do have it. I've used the online check in but never the check out, so I'll have to look at it when we stay at a Marriott before this one. I'm glad @jhoannam told me about this because I had no clue!
