I'm trying to set up the online account for DHs CIP, and it's telling me I have to call them for the security code because they don't have my phone or email? Is that normal?

We had that too. Weird as DH has other Chase cards, but it was quick and painless. DH managed it all by himself.

Were you offered the card number at the end of the application? Seems like many have been offered the instant number on the Hilton cards, in my unscientific tracking, so mostly curious.
With them changing your status right away and if you can get the card number during the app then one could call the hotel up and add the card to the reservation so it's on file for checkin, in case the card doesn't make it in time. But that relies on them giving the number and the website not glitching when it displays the number (that so sux @disneymagicgirl ) so I still wouldn't leave it too late if I were @schmass

so i was wondering for those who us plastiq and the cip, if it were to stop working for mortgages, what would be plan B? are there any good mc out there? does it make sense to get a mc?

Good to know. I was starting to think it was a biz card limitation after all the SPG apps the last couple months where I think no one who applied for Biz got a number but most who applied for the personal did get one. But then disneymagicgirl was offered one on her Hilton biz app, so that blew that theory. Interesting datapoints on expedited if you apply on the phone but not online. I think no one was successful getting them expedited. It's really hard to wait a week for snail mail when you're chomping at the bit to pay a bill, or take a trip

I would do it soon. It took 6 days for my card to come. What was cool was i got the gold status within 24 hours of approval. good luck with applying.

I applied yesterday. I received the gold status within 2 hours of approval. The card is on it’s way and according to rep it should arrive Friday. I have a Hilton ressie scheduled for 6/1 so it appears I’ll get it days ahead.

Thanks! I'm not in a big rush. Luckily, DH has a nice full time job so I'm able to be flexible. Plus, it allows us to go on trips during the school year!

Was curious so I looked it up, looks like I first earned Gold VIP on Jan 1, 2009 the statements before that were Silver. Guess I was not gold the first few years I was traveling. Maybe its less than 10yrs or I was grandfathered in on some older figure as my account is from 2005.

Edit: Google says there is not such thing as lifetime gold for Hilton. No clue then. I am not Diamond, came close once but the trip that would have put me over was canceled and surely would not hold it for 10yrs.

oh, bummer. Thats crazy someone could be gold all those years and have nothing to show for it afterwards, like diamonds get. No clue then, but it is nice it hasn't updated!

Seriously! And Dh was in a hotel last night so I've been bummed about losing those extra 12x points on the stay. Just added to my pastiq mortgage letdown. Things usually come in 3s...whats next?

I usually call the day of arrival and ask for a pack n play to be left in the room and politely ask if they might put us in a larger room if possible. Then I DO NOT choose a room on the app for checkin. I wait and often they assign me a room and I can see the room number/type on the app showing the upgrade. The times I have chosen the room on the app they did not change it and upgrade us.

Tickets through Disney have not coded as travel in the past unless they are tied to a room package and you make a combined payment (essentially fooling the system into thinking you are making a hotel payment).

I need to vent to people who will understand. I applied for CIP on Thursday and it is still saying 30 days. I have been hesitant on the business cards and I’m now 2nd guessing everything. I’m off to work now so I won’t be able to check till late tonight.... again.

What makes the CIP and plastiq combo so attractive is the CIP coding 3x. I don't know of any MC doing that. However, there is a current MC promo where if you pay using your MC and Masterpass, plastiq will waive all fees. If you already have a MC you can use, that would earn you some points. But that promo only last a few months so I wouldn't open a MC just for that.

I'm trying to find us a hotel room by Legoland (CA) for two nights. I'd like to use points (of course!). Rather than looking at each hotel chain's website, is there a site that can find this info for me? Show me what is available for rewards nights?
