I love credit cards so much!

LOL we have a CVS by us but we never go there. We shop at Hyvee a lot because they give good Fuel Saver rewards. We get 20 cents or more off per gallon a lot.

We don't have any good fuel rewards places near us. Speedway has some pretty decent deals its own and I've managed to get 10 cents off a gallon on my last 4-5 visits which is nice.

Our most proud couponing moment was 96 boxes of cereal that we were paid $0.25 each to carry out of the store LOL.

Are you still eating it? LOL I've definitely never gotten that many of an item, but I miss being paid to take something home.

I wasn't extreme but I do miss my super double and triple coupons at Harris Teeter. Anymore I'm lucky to combine a coupon with a cartwheel deal or sale. We lack a lot of choice for groceries and no one does anything interesting with coupons.

I miss having CVS close, though free flights are better. The closest one to me is 20 min without traffic and it's just not worth the weekly trips you have to do to make it worth while. Between there and coupons at Harris Teeter I didn't have to buy dental floss for I think 3 years when I moved home from NC (I floss daily) because of all the free I'd get. It's the one thing that makes me sad to only save 50 cents on.

I stopped because every CVS I went to was neary office and I was laid off and had a newborn, and my husband's car died, so I just didn't have the time or motivation to plan out weekly trips around feedings, naps, and taking my husband to work. They are build one that is walking distance from my office now so I will probably dip my toes back in at least for any grand opening specials. I also miss free floss! I'm still excited over the buy three get a $5 gift card deal I paired with 3 cartwheel coupons at Target recently and that only resulted in half off dental care haha.

DH is the proud new owner of CIC! Applied at 9 pm last night and he had been approved when I checked at 6 am this morning! We were going to PC his CIP to CIC anyhow so I'll just need to sell him on the fact that he's getting $500 extra this way and then we'll just cancel his CIP in a couple of months instead. Now to decide if I go for the CIC also...I did lower a couple of my couple of Chase CC available balances by $15k and I'm now at 26% of my income just in case since I had to move credit around for the SW Plus and the Marriott in Sept and Dec. Decisions, decisions...

Thanks for sharing. We only had it on 1 card, but at least it is something. I am going to stack with a Walmart GC (using chase pay for 5x), and put only $30 on the amex...$150 Disney GC of course.

ETA: did this and calculated 18.4% savings. :flower1: Purchased $112 Walmart e-giftcard with 5x points ($5.60 back). Bought $150 dis GC for $142.98 and put $112 on the GC and $30.98 on amex. Getting $15 back from amex (don't see GC excl in small print). So my total cost is $122.38 for the $150 GC.

Great idea! We had this offer as well. Did you order online? Our store doesn't have the disney GC. I am assuming there is an option to split payment on Sams?

Is there a way to get delta flights with ur? I know United works but I’m seeing better flights with delta.

Yes. You can pay directly through UR portal or book via Korean Sky Pass which is much more complex. We had picked up 2 Delta cards each when they were at a historic 70k per card. No real use for them at the time but Delta Sky Pesos don't expire and we knew that Delta had a lie flat seat option to Iceland at that time. We had plans to go last Thanksgiving and we were in the planning stages in 2016. When we went to book the Iceland flights, Delta wanted 700,000 Sky pesos for a award flights. We could have swung it between SPG transfers and MR transfers on top of the Sky Pesos we had in the account. I couldn't do it on principle. I'll shell out a bunch of points for a double bed in the sky. There's no way I'm doing it for a lie flat business/first class seat with no real bells and whistles on a 2 cabin aircraft! Yes, we've become plane snobs :snooty:  But I digress. There were no saver awards on Delta and our dates were not flexible to just choose dates that had saver awards which I couldn't find a month out in either direction anyhow. Therefore, using Korean Sky Pass or any other partner airline was not an option either. So we booked and paid with Ultimate Rewards.

If there is saver availability on Delta then you can use a partner airline's miles to book. This is true for all airlines. Korean requires you to set up accounts in advance and register family members and provide proof of familial relationship. We had to send in our marriage license. I am going to link a few different blog posts that can explain the process.

I have a question about Chase UR Refer-A-Friend bonuses. I shared my CF referral link near the end of March, and never noticed the 10,000 bonus points in my account. I sent a SM to Chase and they said that it is shown on my April 11 statement. Great! However, when I go into the UR website I can't find any notation of these 10,000 points. So now I'm confused. I sent another SM to Chase, and the response I got was:

"The referral bonus points will be added to the Ultimate Rewards website. However, it will not show up as Refer-A-Friend bonus on the website."

Can someone please explain this to me in a way that makes more sense? How long does it take for referral points to show up in your account? When I look at the Rewards Breakdown, there is an orange category for Bonus from Refer-A-Friend Offers that is currently $0.00. Shouldn't that be where the bonus appears?

Quoting my own post from yesterday, I think it might have gotten lost in all of the exciting approval news! Can anyone clear up this Refer-A-Friend bonus points confusion?

Do you have the 10k in your account or is it pending? I just looked at my CIP from when I referred my SO and I got the 20k points but it isn’t showing on the Refer a friend section but I know I got the points. So maybe just that part isn’t working.

I don’t see it anywhere on my account, but it was listed on my statement. When I go to review all activity there’s no 10K points earned anywhere.

Chase "support" bonuses typical show up as pending (under "Earning on Next Statement") on Tuesdays around 6pm ET/3pm PT about 1-2 weeks after approval (this varies because it seems to take about 5 days or more from approval for your account to get credit, but if approval was too close to the following Tuesday then your bonus will get kicked to the next week), and can show up as late as 3 weeks after approval.

Chase UR's Refer-A-Friend/Business breakdown is completely useless. I've never seen any "support" points tabulated into that category. "Support" points don't even show under recent award activity. The only thing you can really do is monitor your points under "Earning on Next Statement." If you've got 10,000 more points than what you should have from spend, that's one bonus; 20,000 points, that's two.

You should also keep track of how many bonuses you've earned for that card. It really helps if people who use your links let you know, but that doesn't always happen so you just need to add up your points. Chase "support" bonuses are limited to 5 per year per card (at least on the CSR, CSP, and CIP), so once you've maxed out your support clicks, it helps everyone else here if you remove your link so that "support" clicks don't go wasted.

Is your points balance 10k higher though? Or is it saying you got them and really didn’t. I’m looking at my statement too and it’s saying I only earned 87,000 points for the year, but that’s not right because I got 20k for the referral. I definitely got the 20k points.

I know @calypso726 has a lot of different ways to do it, but I am in a Delta hub and for us to fly anywhere just straight Delta skymiles is the way to go. Right now for example there is a flash sale to Europe and I could fly to London for 40,000 miles direct. If you are seeing lots of Delta flights you might want to think about getting the Delta Amex cards. The public bonus is not as high right now but the referral bonuses are really good (but expire I think tomorrow). If you both got the business delta cards that would be a lot of skymiles. If you aren't quite ready to get them now as in today or tomorrow gou could wait as I think the bonuses will go up again in June (that has been the pattern at least). I know a lot about Delta so let me know if questions.

Oh and @Haley R I remember you from the Disney After Hours thread. :)

3% @ 20k = $600/yr /12 = $50 a month. 15 transaction x $10 = $150 a month. Your losing $100 a month.
Have you considered other solutions?
i got a Consumer Credit union. 3% @ 10k = $300 /12 = $25 a month. 12 transaction x $.50 = $6, profit of $19 a month.

look up expedia... Chase UR portal is basically expedia. if u have a CSR, then its 33% off expedia rates.

How is she losing $100/month? If she charges $150/month, she would only lose the opportunity cost of charging to another card - maybe a 2% card - so $3. She would have to buy product anyway, the only difference is which card she uses to charge. At least thats how I'm understanding her.

So others will be better at this explanation than me (maybe @calypso726) but you could transfer to a partner like AirFrance or Korean and book a Delta flight I think. You also could just book through the Ultimate Rewards portal and redeem your points against the cash cost of the flight.

So yes, it is possible - I would defer to a more expert opinion on which option is best. If you share your exact dates and flight/city pairings, I bet somebody will give some GREAT advice :)

We don't travel a ton, and I tend to always look for specific dates, which limits me. But . . . I can never find Delta award space on the affiliate airlines. I'm kinda curious to know others' experiences with this. Is Delta stingy with their award seats?

Glad I wasn't the only one who had to do a double-take on the math. I'm sure Albort will be along with a rational explanation in due course.
