I love credit cards so much!

We have Priority Pass through the CSR. Food and drink in the traditional lounges are free. Some airports now have restaurants that accept Priority Pass memberships. In those cases, it might be dependent on CC, but in the case of the CSR, you receive $28 credit per person. (does not cover tip).

You don't happen to know which airports allow the restaurant credit do you? I've only ever used my CSR lounge perk once. But I'll be traveling with my brother's family in July, so 8 of us total. I know everyone can come into the lounge with me for free with Priority Pass on the CSR, but is the number of guests unlimited at the restaurants as well?

If you search the PP site, the restaurants will come up. I've heard unlimited guests at restaurants, but we've never traveled with more than two at this point. Also I'm not @wendow ;)

:lmao:
While I probably couldn't do it in 4 months like that since I'm not great at sales/bus dev/relationship gurus (whatever is the flavor of the month now) but since I have to change jobs anyway maybe I should look into changing professions as well!
And it just confirms what I always suspected of our sales team, they work for a couple months and then slack off like a long term case of senioritis :)
I actually have my target on top RM in the nation this year. Most business bankers are pretty bad at their jobs. There’s a reason they are Biz bankers and not moving up to corporate. And they chase too many deals and waste time (they may close 1 out of 5 deals they work on). I choose to stay in this segment because the businesses you get to meet are more fun. I’m just super targeted in my approach and close > 80% of my deals soooo I can accomplish the same (or better) with much less effort. At any rate - I’d recommend Business Banking to anybody who can get into it! It’s a super fun job - I get paid to listen to people tell me about their business :)

Another thing that is odd about me is that I find surfing the DIS to be motivational to me. Taking a little break often is great and then I’m super productive when I focus again. Plus I like to think of work as fluid...I put in a lot of late night time when I function best :)

I think I might book the Hyatt in Nashville just in case... surely I'll find a use for those points if something comes up.

But now another question... it looks like our flight (arriving Friday evening) would land at either 9:20pm or 11:05pm. There's a Hyatt by the airport for 8k points or 4k plus $55. And it's got a shuttle. So we could stay there the first night, since we're getting in late-ish, and in the morning drop our stuff at the downtown Hyatt (15k points, no cash plus points coming up) and go be touristy for the day. I'm pretty tempted by this plan... since we're two adults with no kids and probably just backpacks since it's a weekend trip, it'd be easy to move.

I will also be printing this out and framing it.

When you hear this song...please think of me!

Good thing I'm using the hidden computer at work today so no one saw me silently losing it when I came to this post.

I will admit I’ve been whistling this song al afternoon now haha.

I'm curious if they are going to offer inter-island flights or if they'll partner with someone. Granted if they are flying to the 4 main islands there's generally no reason to connect to another on arrival or departure only during the middle of your trip. But I would think if they want to get people to use their SW Vacations (they still have those right?) that they'd have to have some type of inter-island or why would someone book with them for a multi-island stay.

I was wondering about inter-island flights. Southwest plans service to all the major airports in the Hawaiian Islands, so unless you plan to island hop it seems you'll plan your itinerary for your destination. Hawaiian and Mokulele offer inter-island flights (another inter-island carrier, Island Air, folded last year), but I'm not sure if this is a space Southwest wants to get into because it's extremely expensive and low-margin. Hawaiian already partners with several major airlines for inter-island travel.

I’m finally caught up again on this thread! At one point I was 50+ pages behind (daunting!) but I made it.

I was down visiting my sister last week in ATL and we decided to take a last minute road-trip down to WDW. Since I was so behind on disboards, I didn’t realize it was AK’s 20th anniversary celebration on the 21st - of course that was the day we went to that park. Chaos.

My parents have expressed an interest in opening card(s) to cover for Disneyland tickets for our San Diego/Wiggles(lol)/Disneyland trip in June. I currently have enough UR points to cover the full amount - the idea is just that they would get the points and “pay” me back. I’m trying to decide if they should each go for the CSP/CSR double-dip, or if they should each open a CIP. They’re currently each at 2/24 (both will fall to 0/24 in June). They currently have both SW personal cards, and no UR cards...

Ok, time for stupid questions LOL.
I have never been in a lounge before. My Hilton Ascend says it comes with 10 complimentary Priority Pass lounge visits per year. I have hit the enroll button a few times, and each time it says enrolled, but I have never gotten the card in the mail it says I should get.
Assuming it ever shows up, can I used multiple free visits at the same time for additional family members? Dh also has the Ascend so he gets 10 also.
And even a dumber question, food and drink are free in the lounge?
We are flying Delta in September which appears to be in the same area as the lounge, so thought maybe we should check it out.
Which other cards offer free access? I know one of my cards offers paid visits, because I did get a membership card for that one, but they don't appear to be free.

Thanks!
I have no knowledge of the Hilton Ascend, but I have PP through the CSR. I think you’d be flying in/out of MSP, right? Terminal 1 at MSP has a Priority Pass “lounge” - basically, each person in your party gets a $15 credit from the PGA Lounge. The PP website says the credit can only be used at the PGA Lounge for food or virtual golf, but once you’re there they tell you it can also be used at Ike’s, French Meadow (table service), and French Meadow (quick service). We’ve had no problem going there both on departures and arrivals.

it's either 80k SPG for 5 nights- or 120k spg (technically) for 5 nights plus the 120k RR points..... so it's kind of like paying 40k UR for the 120k SWA points....does this make sense?

I get what you are saying and yes it makes sense to me. Go for it! I would do the same if I could use the package nights at the swan.

ETA- clearly I am not as smart as @SouthFayetteFan as I read down the thread why you shouldn't do it. lol

I'm all for efficiency. And I am impressed you hit your goal so early in the year, it's really great. Our sales team was a lot like herding cats for a while (terrible leadership on that side) and they all took the "throw it at the wall and see what sticks" approach. So they were the 1 in 5 group (if we were lucky). If we had a team of @SouthFayetteFan 's I doubt we'd be closing down an office right now.

So frustrated. Have $300 on SPG Biz spend. Need to book DSs summer camp. Two choices, both around 275. Neither take Amex. Can’t win today.
The roofers I need for my rental (the actual biz for the SPG Biz) better take Amex.

That is interesting. My DH is in sales and once he hits his quota it is on like donkey kong because he earns a higher commission rate from then on.

I did the same thing a few weeks ago trying to hit my spg biz spend. Out of $2k in camps I paid $200 on the amex. :sad2:

Thanks, I've been looking at AS, but the availability seems limited. I didn't know that about the code for Citi. I'll have to start keeping an eye on the mailers we get. We'd only need two each, so I'm assuming the first one could be a regular application and then the second would need the code?

I really need to figure out how to get more SW points without angering the Chase gods!
SWA shopping portal offers bonuses plus SW dining is another way to get more points.

Few of us are....:rotfl2::worship:
Oh geeez LOL! I just have a gift when it comes to math problems involving points lol. There really isn’t a “right” answer to @hsmamato2’s dilemma. It’s all about trade offs :) I just tried to clearly lay out all options so a logical choice can be made.

Today is not my day for airlines. I want to change the seat on one of my flights next month from row 30 to row 10. Doesn't matter what browser I use it gives me an error and won't save. Sent Iceland Air a message cause I don't want to call.

Figure I better check my flights for the fall just in case since I know Delta's routine now that the nonstop red eye got changed to a connection in ATL, ugh, I know they'll change something else so I won't have a valid connection. Oh look, I was right and they never bothered to email me. So I call and it's 52 min to an hour and twenty wait so I enter my number so they can call back. Yeah right, those never work for me. I really should stop trying to do this flight because I start out getting in around 6am and then end up at MCO after 9am which isn't what I want. But there's no other decent red eye from Seattle. I don't mind flying them, it's their customer service/lack of emails that peeve me off.
