I love credit cards so much!

I almost was going to say something about those with anniv. dates just after 5/1 in my earlier post and then I was like...that's just throwing salt in the wounds... That REALLY stinks...That's what's so stupid about this change...they should've given 12 month notice IMO.

OH, I misread everything earlier which is why I was thinking the people who just applied would still get an entire year to earn their anniv cert for unrestricted hotels.

Ugh, now I get it and OH. MY. GOODNESS!! I would be so upset if I were in @mom2elal's shoes or anyone who has a cert coming soon and now, with no notice, the program has changed. I'd be calling Chase to complain and I'm not a complainer and very much a non-confrontational person but this would have me calling.

DH applied for CIC on Friday. All weekend the automated line said 2 weeks. Today I checked and it says 7-10 days :sad1:
Do I wait and try to recon after getting letter in the mail? Or call now? I really have no idea why DH would be denied. He has 3 Chase cards with a total credit line of 24k, he was 3/24 before this Card (checked credit report last week) and has a rental property as his business :confused3

probably a dumb question but here it goes. where do I find my referrals to try and post to our other site? I looked in my chase profile and cant seem to find any. I have a few cards that should generate a referral.

My daughter's anniversary date is early May, but mine is not until August. She's already used her last May's night, but mine is booked for the end of July. As in about 3 days before it would expire. So it is all fairly relative. I'm not upset and will probably add on the new card when I can.

So, that's another question - I'm 5/24 until 6/18. In 7/18, 'If' I get the Chase business card of my choice, then, after I meet that spend, I get the Chase personal card of my choice (maybe a Freedom maybe a CSP?CSR?, can I then still apply for another IHG card if I choose to do so? Cause after 5/24 certain cards don't count? or am I again confused? Is there a cap on the number of Chase cards you can keep in your sock/lingerie drawer?

Let's hope it's just verification.

So wait...or call now? I’m so impatient lol

I recall @Psychodisney applied for the CIP listing real estate as the business, got 7-10 days, then waited for the denial letter. It turned out to be verification and she was able to get the card after sending in some forms. I don't know if it's something about the real estate business, but it seems to trigger more hoops to jump through. You could call now since you know it's likely denial, but not the reason; or wait until the denial letter to find out what the reason was for sure.

I've been so caught up in credit cards I missed applying for a bank account bonus I had on my radar. Bank bonuses are/were my bread and butter (after hitting a bunch last year I don't qualify for too many this year ;) ). Turns out credit card bonuses are indeed addicting and time consuming! But I love 'em!

If you choose the dropdown on the top left of your page when you are signed into your account, scroll down to 'your offers' and it will list all the referrals you can make.

FYI - your Plastiq post is not a link (just some numbers). Also your newly added Chase links are not formatted per the rules at the top of the thread. Please take a look and correct them when possible.

Fyi, got an email last night from Amex saying the referral bonus on the Delta Gold is now (back to) 10,000 miles per referral. Idk if you need to generate a new link to assure you get the 10k skypesos, I did to be safe.

OK. Thank you. I just don't get it. I apparently am not computer savvy. I don't really understand what I am doing. I will go back and reread the site again. thanks

Can you use Plastiq to send a check? Checks take 7-10 business days to deliver, but your state treasurer or taxing authority may be in their system for electronic payments that would take just 2-3 days. Tax payments through Plastiq are fine on Amex. 2.5% fee on $250 works out to about $6.25.
I've got to send it in with a special form, unfortunately...

It seems like a lot of people PC their CSR or CSP after a year or two. Would you want keep a CSR, CSP or CIP in order to utilize UR on the portal, or do most people transfer the points to travel partners? I want to earn UR points to use for WDW/US rooms and/or park tickets, so it seems like I need to keep a premium card in order to use the UR portal, right?

SO, many of you know how much I love the Amex BCP. I think 6% back on groceries for a family of our size who eats at home 99% of the time is just a great savings. I have maxed out the allowed 6k both years I have had the card. However, I now am at a place where I have not been without a MSR since last Oct. And these have been big MSR's to where I have to use groceries as part of the spend, which means, I've put very little on the BCP. I think I am just over $100 for 2018 and that has only been cause my teen picks things up for me here and there and she uses that card.

I'm questioning the point of the AF version. So, my question is, do I call and drop it down now to the 3% no AF version and if so, will I receive any prorated AF back? OR should I wait until June when my AF hits again, call and say I want to cancel and see if they offer a retention bonus?

A Google search shows that AMEX has restrictions on AF refunds:

"If an Annual Membership fee applies, we will refund this fee if you notify us that you are voluntarily closing your Account within 30 days of the Closing Date of the billing statement on which that fee appears. For cancellations after this 30 day period, the Annual Membership fee is non-refundable."

Given that, your second plan of attack to see if they'll offer a retention bonus in June when your AF hits seems reasonable.

I buy VGC at Krogers with my BCP and they've always earned 6%. I'm not worried about RAT because I'm not doing this for a signup bonus, I've had this card for a long time - it used to be the Old Blue Cash and I didn't know back then how much bank I could've made! VGC can come in handy for places that won't take AMEX as payment (looking at you, Costco!). That is my backup method of reaching $6K in spend on BCP when I'm busy meeting MSRs on other cards. I don't MS these into MO like other people have reported, but if you're brave...
