I love credit cards so much!

@gottalovepluto just made a separate thread, but in case you don't see it...check your AMEX offers!!!

I got probably 5-8 good ones over our 2 cards.
Hyatt, chuck e cheese, ebags, chow now, lamps plus, shipt ($50 off $100!)
I just highlighted the chuck e cheese one- you got a HYATT offer?! Jealous! Every other offer I had on all cards was 100% useless :(

SO SORRY! I know this free night cert has been well used by you. Your post on your most recent DC weekend had me back on the ledge about to apply for the IHG card.

OMG. I was thinking of you and your splendid weekend in DC when I was typing up my post.

Have a hug.

P.S. I have no idea of IHG redemption values, but I hope this doesn’t hit those of us who used up a */24 slot to apply for the $49 IHG card too hard.

I didn't apply. I was still going back and forth. Very thankful now I continued to debate. Chase changing the terms on that free night was my big fear. I don't think 40k ihg points goes all that far. I book pretty 'dinky' ihg express hotels with 20k.

No, not required to stay there! Just the cheapest rate by far (by about $50) compared to any other local hotel rooms. I just don't actually have a use for any of the points I'll get if from it since it's not through hotels.com or anything!

Oohhhh, I understand now!

Unfortunately, eBags stopped letting their customers combine gift cards via customer service. So you can’t buy just a $75 gift card on each Amex, then hope to have eBags combine them for you.

What people have been doing has been buying a $75 eBags gift card on one Amex, applying that to an order, then charging the balance of $75 or more onto a second Amex with the offer to double dip. That seems to be the extent of what you can get out of this deal.

Im confused. Why not just place 2 orders for around $75?

Yep! $60/$200 at hyatt regency on DH’s Amex. Not on my SPG for good reason I suppose.
I’ll use lamps plus for sure. Im always changing out light fixtures and we need to add ceiling fans to a few more rooms too.

That is correct, but they are also able to make new reservations. If you can get them to make new reservations you can cancel your old one, that way you can pay the entire amount with points. My reservation was for $530, I paid the one night deposit $89. Once it transferred over I used URs to pay the $441 with points.
I made the reservation just days before the parking fee was added to new reservations. If I cancel and make a new reservation the parking fees will eat up any savings I gain by paying with UR'S.

I was still thinking about the IHG card in the back of my mind too. So glad I didn't pull the trigger on applying and delay getting back under 5/24 for the CIP!!!

HYATT offer was $60 back on $200+ at Hyatt Regency - expires 5/31 so not sure I will use it before then.

Me either. We have two nights at Hyatt Regency booked for a stay in a couple of weeks but I already transferred UR's over to Hyatt. Not sure I want to cancel those, pay OOP just to use the Amex offer and then try to find a way to use the Hyatt points.

I'm sorry, you can still transfer the reservation and pay the balance with URs, at least you are getting part of you stay for 'free'.

Well, Our certificates do get issued before May. So, one last time. I will be cancelling the card. If they offered 40k points a year like Club Carlson, I’d keep it. I already have a card (Martiott) with a free anniversary night that is useless besides stays at WDW. I don’t need another one.

I was almost ready to pull the trigger last night but fears of delaying getting the CIC kept swirling in my head...So glad I didn't...!

Were you still planning on using the IHG for Bora Bora? I know you and I chatted about that many moons ago. Can you move those plans up to next year or is that too soon?

The 60k offer plus AF is still available via the link I see on DoC- has the 60k offer always been like that? For some reason I thought 60K had become the normal, non-referral offer... I think I need more coffee...

The only place I could ever pull the 60k offer was from bloggers links. If I went directly to Chase, even in incognito or another browser, I only ever got a 50k offer.

I thought I tried that. It didn't work. So the 3 numbers on the back of the Amex card I don't ever use?

Pretty much, I've only ever used it when talking to AmEx. I think that's the only use for them is internal.
