This is odd. Was it the $300 bonus you applied for (the $500 deposit min requirement)? Did you do it in-branch? Both myself and DH did the in-branch (probably 30min each) and got the bonus within a week. The banker simply transferred the $500 from our personal checking account during account opening and even reminded us that "they say the bonus can be 4-5 weeks, but I've seen them plenty of bonuses deposited within a week ;)"

Don't recall another biz Wells offer, so I'm curious since the deposit requirement is hard to deny you for, if that was what you applied for.

I have no idea why they are saying I’m not eligible it is fairly easy to prove. I opened the account in branch and deposited 1025 and did five debit card transactions. The bonus has not posted. It was the $300 business checking offer. I even confirmed the rep printed my code on the paperwork I got when I opened the account.

@Lain will you marry me? lol, seriously though thank you!! You are right....I got the CIP, duh. Thats one less store I have to go in I guess. I'll just get my gift cards anywhere to meet MS. I do have to downgrade my CSP next month and this has me strongly leaning toward the Freedom over the CFU.

Use Gyft or Swych e-gift card apps to earn 3x UR on your CIP by using PayPal checkout and selecting CIP as the payment method.

Hello, I have been hanging around the budget board for a long time but have never posted. I’m hoping someone here can give some insight on where we stand and what makes the most sense (cents) at this point.

3 people in my family
2 player mode
Atlanta is our Home airport
Over the next year to two; we plan to fly mainly domestic then towards the 2 year mark Hawaii.

Me: 9/16 Suntrust-Joint
9/16 PNC
2/17 Sapphire
7/17 BOA

I have an old-old CIPlus (2011), CICash (2011), CF (2011), Citi double & Div, Disc, AmEx Pref & Delta all between 1994-2010.

DH- 9/16 Suntrust-Joint
2/17 Sapphire- AU- removed AU this week
Other old cards- CIC (2012), Disc

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

atlanta screams Delta Amex card though.... :P

I agree with @Albort like it or not, if you are in Atlanta and want to fly out places it would be a huge oversight to not focus on Delta. I am in a hub city and why in theory Southwest might work the reality is that there are more non stop flights, cheaper cost flights, cheaper miles flights, and better times of flights all on Delta. Which is why I had a SW card briefly years ago and then cancelled it and since then have just accepted Delta. Between DH and I we have four Delta cards right now. If I can finish the spends I have going on with other cards I am applying for the Delta Gold Biz before the increased offers expire. Especially if Hawaii is your ultimate plan I would focus on Delta miles. DH and I went last month and was able to book non stop to Maui at 35,000 miles each.

Other than that I would focus on UR’s. Trying to get the CIP sounds like a good plan.

Oh and welcome to the Boards and this thread!!!

Yea! Hubby is pretty happy with the $300 Chase bonus that just posted into the new checking account (DD was this past Friday). I think I may have a convert, at least for banking, if I do this slowly. So far that's the easiest cash we've made yet, woohoo! If only they paid any interest at all I'd leave it in there and use those accounts for all the free money we get for vaca. But outside of the bonuses they're pretty bad accounts (comparatively) so it kinda explains why they need to give a bonus to get anyone in.

Over an hour on the phone with Wells Fargo the reps saw I met the requirements and they are having the case management team reach out to me. I’m really fed up. I shouldn’t have to be on the phone trying to sort this out for over an hour. SO doesn’t have his bonus either. Not calling again so I think for him I’ll file the CFPB complaint.

Did you open the account with a banker in branch?

How long does it take for SW to post your points for your anniversary date?
They will post with your next statement following the anniversary date. Depending on the timing this may be before or after your annual fee shows up but in most cases should be before your annual fee is due. The points should transfer into your RR account within 2-4 days after the statement closes then.

:offtopic: But with all the SW talk, I wonder, am I the only one that hasn't gotten any SW drink coupons this year? The last few years in Jan or Feb I got 4 drink coupons in the mail. Given the timing I assumed it based was around my card anniversary so being end of March and no coupons, little sad.

I was going to be a smarty pants and say "about a year" :joker:

Your answer was probably more helpful...

Sorry you are the sacrificial data point on this! It really is ridiculous.

I was reviewing the CF categories and need to know more about using PayPal. Can someone please give me a cliff's notes version or point me to some info? Does it work like Apple Pay? Thanks again to the group for the fantastic guidance on how to play this game!

heh, i had this sitting in my quote box and didnt realize it till now. Paypal is basically a payment processor. They are accepted pretty in a lot of places online, ie, ebay. They do have some stores that accept them but those stores are not as numerous as online. It does not work like apple pay, apple pay, samsung pay, android pay work off a cellphone vs paypal, which could also work off a cellphone(but more similar to chase pay with a QR code. Sorry, i have never used paypal in stores before). But online, if you see a paypal button, you just need to login and pay through paypal. Does that make sense?
