I love credit cards so much!

Rooms booked using URs will not earn Marriott Points based on what I've read online. I don't specifically have experience with this though.

I do...booked all of our hotels on DD's college visit trips last summer on UR points and no, did not earn points. :sad1: We did get recognition for our level status (gold) in 2/4 of the hotels earning a bottle of water and pretzels in one hotel and a deck of cards in the other :sad2:

FYI, I was checking my links on DISChurners Reddit and noticed the Disney offer has changed. It's no longer a GC but a statement credit :( Had hubby generate a new link off his card and the text still says GC but when you go to the link it's showing statement credit for the offer. We both have the no AF cards.

I got this nice offer in the email over a week ago and after back and forth with customer service, finally got the link to work. Whoohoo!
I got this offer also but couldn’t get it to work either. I’ve emailed twice and placed a call and still no luck. Any trick to it I may be able to try when I contact them again?

I just randomly tried the link again tonight and it worked. Try again!

Thanks for the responses about the Marriott points. My dh only has 11k but I hate to lose them. So, I cannot transfer to SPG and keep them? That would fall under 'transferring to another program'?
Do you have Marriott or SPG points that are active longer in his OR your nam...or are these your only Marriott or SPG Points?

Nope that is it. He has a new SPG card. If I go ahead and pay the balance, will points post? Then can I move the Marriott points?

So looking for a way to stay at universal studios with credit card rewards for dec 2019. What’s the best option? Also is there a way to do food at a discount there? So used to Disney.
At 3/24 with chase as long as the two business cards don’t count. Dh has 0/24 so we have options. Just not sure what the best Card would be for this trip plan.

are we talking about Hollywood or Orlando? for Hollywood, SPG Sheraton is the way to go as its on Universal Property. Theres also a lounge inside the park for Amex holders but must use amex card to purchase ticket to qualify.

I'm still seeing a GC on my link. Did it only change after he generated a new link?

I love Universal! My son is over Disney so we try to go to Universal every other year. I suggest staying at one of the hotels on property that include express pass....Hard Rock, Portofino, or Royal Pacific. You can use UR’s to book these on the UR portal. I’d go for a UR earning card for your trip. I’m most likely going to use UR’s for my next Universal trip.
They do offer dining plans, but I’ve never purchased one so can’t really help there. I did look into it and remember thinking it wasnt worth it. If you stay at Royal Pacific, they do a character breakfast on Sundays. We got to meet Gru, Woody woodpecker, Minions...ok, getting off topic but I do love Universal ALMOST as much as Disney, lol.

I signed up DH for the SW PLUS credit card last month even though he may not ever travel with me. I'm hoping the extra points will give me some breathing space as I slow down on my personal cards to get below 5/24 for the CP in 2019 or maybe early 2020 if I can wait that long. He was approved right away. I just completed spend on that card recently (it's headed for the sock drawer) and was feeling a bit lost not having a MS to be working on. Is this the first signs of an addiction:flower1:? I signed up for the Marriott Business card tonight and got approved. I'm thinking this will space out DH PLUS/PEMIER applications. He will then be at 3/24. We got his CSR last May before the deadline. I'm thinking we can PC that to the FU and pay only one AF on his CSR. After that I think we might go for the CSP for him, if that is an option. Any thoughts or suggestions for a better/different plan would be welcome.

Points post on statement closing. Will it be before Marriott points expire? If not I'd earn or spend a bit to keep your Marriott points alive. 11 k is still 11k.

You definitely sound like you have entered addiction territory :goodvibes

Congrats on your new Marriott biz! So, you are not wanting CP for your dh since he doesn't really travel with you? Just the extra points? If so, sounds fine to space out his SW apps.

For him to get the CSP, he cannot hold the CSR too. What I am not sure on is when you are eligible for one of those cards again if you previously had one...is it 24 mos after bonus posted or 24 mos after you closed the last one of those cards? Not sure there are any DP's yet to help with that. Anyways, might be awhile until your dh would be able to get the CSP.

I don't know how to earn them without staying with them and the only options to spend seemed to be more points than we have.

His SPG is a brand new card. Says closing date is Feb 6. There was no payment due but I went ahead and paid it. Guess that doesn't help much!!

Marriott now has their own shopping site Might be worth it if there's something you need. They have Petco, Anthropologie, Barnes and Noble, etc. Not tons of stores but they all earn Marriott points.

Check his SPG account and see if points posted. If any posted, then you should be ok to transfer.
