I love credit cards so much!

up! Even when I am making the spend for a new card I feel guilty using the new card instead of one that earns more points for whatever I am buying.
Same. I don't have enough spend to pick and choose everything but if I have a big purchase in a category that gets more points on another card, I'll do it

Since I have the new Discover, but I didn't get a second card
You can get another Discover easily, in your name, not an AU. Got my new card, set up account online, ordered new Blackhawks card. DH has original, I have Blackhawks card

Yes, I was going to do that but I remembered the last time I got a new card design when I activated it the site asked for the card number (A006, that number) and I couldn't remember if I had to deactivate the previous card or not. So I just haven't ordered it yet, too much other going on. But thanks for confirming I can keep both active, I'll order the second one after our cruise. (with my luck if I order it now it'll show up while we're out of town)

I want to order an extra card for myself that is my hubby's CSR. Do I just click replacement card/card damaged? That won't deactivate his card, correct?

My experience has been as long as you don't report the card as lost or stolen and simply request a replacement because your card "doesn't swipe well" or the "chip doesn't always work", they won't deactivate the old.

I've read mixed information about whether double dipping a business card and a personal card on the same day results in just one hard pull; some people claim Chase pulls separately for a business line than for a personal line of credit.

Regardless, your idea is sound.

Start applying early during regular business hours of a non-holiday weekday.

Apply for the SW business card first because Chase has an informal 0/30 rule that denies approval for a business card if you've had any other credit card applications with Chase in the past 30 days. Make sure the business card is approved before you go for the personal card. If you aren't auto-approved and perhaps got the we'll let you know in 30 days message, call the automated status line at 1-800-432-3117 after an hour to check the status of your application. If you still aren't approved call recon at 1-888-270-2127 to get it approved.

After that first card is approved, use a different internet browser or an incognito window for the second application for the SW personal card, otherwise Chase may combine the apps thinking they're accidental duplicates. If it isn't auto-approved, call the automated status line after an hour, and if you still aren't approved call recon to get it approved.

If you want to double dip and possibly combine hard pulls, make sure this is all done on the same day.

Thank you for such detailed instructions. This was exactly what I needed.

For the no fee Disney, $200 for $500 I think is the best offer generally speaking. At the moment, it is only available as a public offer for the Disney premier (fee based version) and $100 for $500 was the best public offer when I got mine a couple years ago. Right now the public offer for the no fee disney is a $50 statement credit. So the referral offer has been the only way to get a better bonus on the regular version.

I think if the Freedom is one you are interested in, the Discover It with doublecash back definitely is worth looking into, essentially operating the same way, but the effective 10% in year one has been one of the main reasons people have been signing up. Happy researching! And never anything wrong with a "mild" approach. We've all been there ::yes::

Thanks again for all of your help!

The $200 gift card bonus on the no annual fee Disney card has been reliably available for over 3 years via referrals. Prior to that the referrals had come and gone at various times.

Between my wife and I, we have taken advantage of that offer 6 times I believe (with 24 months in between each time).

We might have to do that if I can get my husband on board. For now I will focus on getting him to do the CSR and CSP combo since that is going to require him jumping in to two cards at once. Thanks again for all of your help!

So glad I added DH’s Freedom to my Apple Pay. DS only wears UA so I was shopping in the store and used the Apple Pay for it!

On another note, I am very unhappy with SW. My statements closed on 1/1 and 1/3 and I still waiting for my second set of points to post while others whose statements closed later already have CP.

What is 'UA'?

I'd be upset too with SW. Have you contacted them to see what's up? I have a friend that I helped through this process to get CP and I know his first statement closed on 1/5 and points were posted really fast. His next statement closes 1/19 and i'm hoping he gets those points and the CP quickly cause he's trying to use the CP on a flight to Costa Rica for March.

Sorry, UA- UnderArmour. We’re in MD so all of his friends and he where it :)

I did a tweet today and I am trying to be patient since their system was down for a bit but it is very disturbing that they are posting new statement close-outa before catching up on those that had closed while they were down. Plus I don’t really know where/who to contact since it’s not like a credit card.

Oh ok, lol, I have heard of UnderArmour. Just not familiar with it :)

I think the tweet was a good start. Hope you get those points soon. I'd be frustrated too.

UA is based in Baltimore. They are the replacement for Nike, Adidias, etc here. Besides a pair of khakis that DS wore to his Fall dance (that ended up being too short), all he wears his athletic wear. I did correct that and get him two pair of new khakis during the holiday :)

That’s so hilarious. I’ve had cashiers wanting to see the actual card or my driver’s license when using Apple Pay.Baby steps...
the cashier last week at my failed shoprite attempt asked to see the actual card too.... I told her I didn't have it b/c I was using chasepay.... (different product I know but same idea)

I got myself and DH new iPhone 6 last weekend. We both had 5s and upgraded for free. No charge for a new phone with a 2 year contract with Sprint and $30 activation fee
we don't have contracts. I use whatever phone DH has 'outgrown' at work (i.e. when he gets an upgrade I get the leftovers) I'm that cheap,yes.:rotfl2: That's ok I just won't do the apple pay thing for now. Or I'll get it on Dh's phone setup and go use it a few places...even better!(He's got the 6 something)

That is exactly what I did and we are able to use both cards.
:thumbsup2:jumping1::jumping2: wait. a minute.....really? I can ask for a replacement on mine, and both are still usable anywhere? what if we both swipe at the same time in two different places later on? What if someone says is that really your name?(traditional girly name on mine lol):confused3

I only have a contract because it gets me a free phone. I know I'll stick with Sprint because no ther carrier gets service in my office. Plus the price is good with corporate discount

Ive used my DHs card everywhere. Rarely questioned. If I am, I just say it's my husband's card. Never been refused
