I wouldn't use the tsa precheck... so 3 of the hard inquiries are mortgage brokers since we refied last year..if you take those out I am 4/24..

I have tossed around the idea of Global Entry for a couple of years. With my CSR it was free and my DD is an AR on my Skymiles Platinum AmEx and hers was too. Whoo hoo! Five years for us will be a few overseas trips

actually paid for mine, but i got out within 20 mins of arrival. my mom's flight was literally an hour later, it took her close to 2.5 hours to get out. even though i paid $100, it was sooo worth it.

I don't know if it's a keeper for me..lol. The two cards I mentioned have no annual fees at least for the first year(prg). I do have a branch down the street. Maybe I will go tomorrow. The csr has a hefty annual fee and a higher minimum spend...I wouldn't have to ms with either Amex card since the minimum spends are so low...the bonus on the no fee Hilton is the highest it's ever been..you must be thinking of the surpass which has an annual fee and 100k points.

You are correct, I was thinking of the other Hilton card with a fee. It only makes send to keep the CSR long term if you can make use of the annual travel credit and you spend at least $3200 per year in dining and travel categories. If you are comfortable with what you have or if you don't need the Chase cards for your travel hacking then go for the Amex cards. Remember also that Amex only allows the bonus once. You will not be able to cancel the card and get the bonus again at a later date. Also, Amex limits the number of cards allowed. You may have four credit cards. There is no limit on the number of Charge cards you can have though.

So I assume that if I am not preapproved that I should go with the two Amex cards?

Yup. If you don't need any of the Chase cards then go for it.

We got ours with the Amex Plat when they were doing a 100K bonus that went public for about 48 hours. Jumped on it and got took advantage of global entry. Would have gladly paid for it though. It has saved us hours upon hours over the last few years.

i got a mailer in the mail... i think it was 100k for the $5k spendings, then $15k for the next 50k MR. Amex has been chasing me for the past year for some reason... i get about 1 amex offer a week... ive been... collecting them to see how many i get. lol i think im at 13 or 14... I must have thrown away that 150k... :\ i cant find it. if i do find it, ill send u an image.

i do know that it doesnt really have any 3x earning... its just all 1x.

Edit: also, there rumors of a CSR type card coming to amex...

I read the rumors too. Amex plat already upped their game on their cards. The personal card is getting 5x on airfare. The biz card is getting 1.5 on everything. Between losing Costco, Jet Blue, competing with the Citit Prestige, the CSR and the uncertainty of what will happen with SPG, Amex really needs to do something. They are hemorrhaging customers.

I only have two credit cards..the Amex blue and the spg..getting ready to cancel the spg...

My employer got the 150k business platinum offer....must be nice.

If they did keep the transfer partners and also allowed UR point transfers to the card they'd be king of all travel credit cards. I can't imagine that will happen. It would be nice though. I'd literally have no reason to use anything but my Chase UR cards. Right now I use them for bonus spend only. I use the SPG for all non-category bonus spending. I dust off the Barclay Aviator card whenever they offer me 15,000 AA miles for spending $500 a months for 3 months. DH does the same thing. I hope we get a decent amount of warning on what will be happening to the card and when.

Yes Global entry is reimbursed on the CSR.

Do you mean Capital One Venture or Citi Double cash? Both are 2x points but neither transfers to airline points. They are essentially cash back cards. Keep in mind Cap One will do 3 hard pulls for apps.

I am going to put all utilities and daily spend on this card. I have until January 7th to reach the $4,000 spend but with the upcoming holidays, that should be easy peasy.
