I love credit cards so much!

Hmmmm...most times any application will show up that site immediately. There was one time that we had an app not show up there for a couple of days but that was because we applied via phone. I don't have a good answer for you on this one...but I'm slightly concerned that your application didn't go thru since you didn't complete those screens. Sorry I don't have greater certainty for you on this one...

Should I apply again? The email says not to, though.

Just applied for the SPG Biz online and after hitting submit the page said my husband was approved, but the email I got says:

We are excited that you've decided to apply for the Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card, and we're reviewing your application now. We promise to let you know when we're finished, or if we need more information.

While we're reviewing your application, please don't apply for another Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card. Thank you for your interest in American Express.

I did not go past that initial response page because I thought I was done, then when I came back to look at it later I see I was supposed to add more users or decline adding any. Oops. Not sure if this is why I didn't get an approval email?

What do you think? Was he really approved? Thanks!

Is it too soon to check? I got a response saying they could not locate his application.

Should I apply again? The email says not to, though.

DO NOT APPLY AGAIN!

I agree with @SouthFayetteFan and think your husband was approved. Amex’s system hangs a bit after submitting the application, then asks if you want to add additional employee cards, then loads for a bit before landing you on the approval page. It takes a few hours for an application to load into the site @SouthFayetteFan pointed you to; check back in a few hours and you should have confirmation. Congratulations!

Thank you so much! You guys are the best!

Ugh, stupid Marriott site! I am trying to book the The Cove at Atlantis that is going for $999 a night but will be using points instead but I keep getting error. But it will get me get through the same screens to book the other Atlantis locations. I guess just book my SW flights for now and hope the error clears up shortly.

From BWI. Going there is a nonstop flight and returning we have to connect through FLL. Although it is only certain days BWI seems to have a nonstop flight. We were originally going to Cancun but we’ll put that trip on hold since DS has frequently requested to Atlantis.[/QUOTE]

Can I call Chase reconsideration on behalf of my SO? Should I have him give me permission to talk or should I just pretend to be him? I’m a female, but they won’t question anything right?

Thanks for the help and i hope you enjoy the special treat if i did it right!

Thanks so much for the support! I’m glad you at least got the CIP while you’re still under 5/24. The CIP is my favorite Chase card right now and my fastest UR points earner because of all the things you'll find that earns 3x UR on it. Tune into this thread and you'll see a lot of discussion how to maximize the categories on this card (and others). The CIP will make a great compliment to your CF (5x UR quarterly bonus categories), CFU (1.5x UR on everything), and CSP (2x UR on dining and travel)!

As an added benefit this year, Chase invites you to enjoy complimentary Gold Status at Shell through the Fuel Rewards® loyalty program through December 31, 2018.* With Gold Status you'll save at least 5¢ per gallon (up to 20 gallons) on every fill-up at Shell stations this year.

Okay, I have been reading the thread (and trying to figure out Reddit) and reading DoC and I feel like I'm ready to "present" to you guys! Currently have Chase Disney Premier (1/2015), Chase Southwest RR (3/2017), and very old Discover, BoA, Capital One. I use my Disney for grocery and gas and pay it off as I go. I know...but I like the Disney reward money and the discounts that I get while in WDW. I also have Target and various store CC.

Goals and Things to Consider:
*love free flights using SW points
*want rewards to use on US/WDW resorts or on discount park tickets through UT
*wouldn't mind trying the swan/dolphin, so am now wondering if SPG is an option. I'm worried that it's an AMEX card and wonder if that will impact my purchases to get the bonus. I mostly spend on food and gas.
*DS is beginning college in the fall and there's a Starwood owned hotel super close to his school. I plan on traveling (there and to other colleges where he'll be playing lacrosse) throughout late winter/spring of 2019.
* I want a card that I can list DS above as an AU. Again, would AMEX be less useful for him to have at college?
*Not really interested in a business card as of now.

Plans as of now are WDW in May 2019 with just DS. I have SW points for this and Disney rewards and gift cards (from Swagbucks, Shopkicks, Bing, etc), so I'm pretty good for this trip. 2020 will bring an expensive US/WDW trip for 5. I'll have some SW points for that and that's it. Don't have a definite plan for this trip, maybe a split stay between the two, both on property.

I'm not looking to be a fast churner. I wouldn't mind opening up a couple of cards that are useful in the long run (if that's even a thing) in earning me rewards. I'm also not adverse to opening an additional card here and there that are offering great bonuses. BTW, single player mode here. DH thinks this is all crazy!

I definitely want to earn more SW points. I MAY be able to talk DH into getting ONE SW card.

So I was thinking first the CSR for UR? Maybe the Southwest Premier (which is no rush since I don't need SW points until 2020)? But what about the SPG? So many options! I can't wait to hear some recommendations! TIA!

Same thing happened to me Thursday. I checked online with my ss # and it confirmed that I had been approved but it was really weird.

I would double dip the CSR and the CSP if you can spend 8k in three months. If not look into opening a PNC bank account online and funding 4k. If you can say you have a “business” the CIP is a great option. I have a “business” that had $5 in revenue and got approved.

I know your DH is against this but he would probably be better off getting the Southwest Cards at the same time so you would almost have the companion pass. If you can convince him to allow you to use his information make sure you refer him. If you don’t need this until 2020 though and don’t mind staying under 5/24 you can apply for the cards in 2019 and cancel the one you have now. Apply for both and hopefully both cards will have 50k point offers when you apply.

The SPG business card would be great to get too. It’s at an all time high offer and it maybe going away soon. It is currently at 35k for spending 7k in three months. If you get the business card it won’t affect your 5/24 status. AMEX is fairly easy to get a business card.

I was trying to do the same thing today. Browsing for next year, no award nights available. Also was looking at SW but was getting errors. Looking at FLL to NAS. I was just trying to research, so I gave up relatively easily.

I got it but didn't activate it. I can do better with fuel rewards especially since Fred Meyer (Kroger) is one of the few places that still charges the price/gallon for cash, debit and credit. Shell is one of the more expensive places to get gas around here so the at least 5 cents doesn't help. I'm sure it's helpful for some though.

I got it on my Freedom, I already had a Fuel Rewards account (but I haven't managed to use it yet, not a whole lot of shells in my usual trip routes) and just added it on since it doesn't hurt... then realized while looking at my account that my IHG Platinum status that I linked when I got FR gets me 6¢ already.

I got it also on one of my chase cards. I don't use their fuel though so I didn't activate the offer.

So just a warning - most of us here dishing out advice are what you might call "fast churners". We are going to advise multiple cards, convincing your husband to get involved, etc.

If you're really looking to hold to this statement above, I'd basically advise you get a Chase Freedom, Chase Freedom Unlimited and a Chase Sapphire Reserve over the next 6 months and then use them in combination to generate a maximum return in Ultimate Rewards (URs). And then for your "additional card here and there" maybe you hit a SW card every so often to keep the occasional free flights rolling. It's ok to be a "churner-light", just know that we don't often advocate that around here, LOL. :)
