I love credit cards so much!

Quick question, any business card should be exempt from 5/24, correct? I've been counting DH as 4/24 (just applied for #5) but forgot one of those was CitiBusiness AA.

I am following the /churning threads on Reddit. I've only had my account for 2 days there and can't post yet. I'll be sure to look for referrals when I go to put this in motion. My userId there is StephPlum2. Is that all someone needs to get me in the DISchurners group or is it read open for everyone?

FYI - I saw your message here and you're added. I sent you a PM with links and such!

This is correct; however, I have read that occasionally business cards appear on a credit report, which means they (do? could?) count.

Oh! That is a bucket list item for me. I've always wanted to be there for a dapper days weekend. I love seeing the pictures of everyone online that attends. How fun!

I had no idea what Dapper Days was and when we were at MK 11/19 and EPCOT 11/20 this year for our super short but awesome pre Thanksgiving trip both days were DD at the respective parks. It was soooo cool and I totally had dress envy!

Me too! I haven't been able to make it down for one yet, so this will by my first one. I've seen pictures and it looks really fun. Can't wait!

If the WDW one is any indication-it will be great!

SOUTHWEST REFERRAL LINKS ARE BACK TO 50K
FYI to all those interested...Chase Refer A Friend allows you to now generate 50k links via Twitter. Make sure you update on DISchurners. Also for those that were hoping to signup at an offer better than 40k good news as well!!

Yay! I got mine up right away this time. Wonder how long this will last.

Which Business Cards report to your personal credit report:
AMEX - NO
BofA - NO
Capital One - YES (booooo!)
Chase - NO
Citi - NO

This post is almost 2 years old but DoC contends they keep it updated soooo should be good.
Great! That means DH is 4/24, and will drop to 3/24 in 10/2018. In time for SW CP.

DH just got the BofA Premium Rewards card today. Trying to pair it with my new Discover It card for cashback for cruise.

Can someone give me the cliff notes version of the differences between CSR and CSP?
(or I guess that should be the Churners Notes version :) )

Now that the Biz SPG is back to 25k for $5k why not go with that? Doesn't affect 5/24 status but still gets you 30k SPG points (or 90k Marriott) with no annual fee the first year.

Also when you go back to 4/24 in June are you planning to do a Chase Double Dip and if so which 2 cards?

I'm trying to get the spend done on the Amex BRG. It's 5k and I'm only $773 into it :( But yes, that is a good idea. After I get done with this card (need to get some creative ways to get the 5k spent!), I could go for the SPG biz.

My plan was to double dip the last two Chase spots. Definitely the Marriott but then I wasn't sure what to do with the other spot. I have CF (AU but don't need my own), SW premier, CFU, no fee sapphire (not sure what to do with that one lol), CIP, CSR (I use dh's). I'm not eligible for CSP or CSR again yet. I want the IHG and Hyatt but don't need to waste a 5/24 card on those.

My girls (and I!!) desperately want to do Dapper Days. I think it looks like so much fun! I think WDW does it too but it seems to be a much bigger deal at DLR, which makes sense :)

My husband is not into CC. I think I'll see how my plans go before trying to rope him in. It will be a tough sell.

Read this quote... Tag: @calypso726 (dont hate me calypso :] )

Hi! Yup it works. Reluctant hubbies are allowed to make their own choices. Some of these conversations I've had with a reluctant hubby. Choice A - stay home and not go on fun vacations. See ya, and please feed the dog while I'm gone. You can catch up with me on FB. Choice B - work umpteen extra hours to save for what said vacation will cost, rather than fill out a credit card application and use a new card to buy the stuff you were going to buy anyhow and take the nice bank's money or points they are trying to give you. Don't know about you honey, I'd sooner get the job done in a 60 second application vs ... wait, how much is this trip anyhow, divided by what do I make in an hour and ... never mind. You go math if you want to. I'm going with 60 seconds. Then of course we have Choice C - the recon call choice. No, you don't have to call the credit card company. But you also don't get to fly up front. Have fun in steerage all cramped up. I'll see you after turndown service, and my nice long nap, in my new airline pajamas so my clothes don't get rumpled. DH is now a very active participant in the hobby!

As for your husband not joining the game, calypso has a good idea... you fly J/F class, your husband can fly Y class... it works. :]

Would you guys advise me to go for the SPG cards even though I'll be pushed further out with Chase? Is the end of the SPG cards that imminent? I read the programs aren't merging until 2019 so I am safe waiting until later in 2018?

the idea is that the program would merge in 2019, but the start of pushing people towards the new combined program will most likely start this year. most ppl believe that the SPG and Marriott point system will continue to exist into 2019 but being able to get the card with the new program starting looks not good right now. Most ppl think it will happen late 2018 but we never know. Now its your decision. What cards are left u want with chase? Marriott(well technique going away too), SW? United? are those worth more value to you than SPG? for example, i find Citi cards to be more value to me than all other points so i tend to favor that... the same could be with you.

CSR - 3x travel/dining | $450 AF___________ | $75 AU fee | 6 hour trip delay insurance | 50% redemption bonus with chase portal | $300 travel credit | $100 global entry credit | Priority pass lounge access at airports
CSP - 2x travel/dining | $99 AF (1st year free) | Free AU | 12 hour trip delay insurance |25% redemption bonus with chase portal

Maybe SW Plus? Alternatively I assume your AU Freedom is from your spouse so you could have them refer you which could make that signup worth 27,500 URs (15k + 2.5k for AU - add a dog ;) + 10k for referral) which is a nice haul for a $500 min. spend.

I'll try :)

CSP - AF $95 waived first year, $0 AU fee
CSR - AF $450 not waived (credit of $300 for travel coded expenses), $75 AU fee

CSP - 2x earned on dining and travel (1x all other purchases)
CSR - 3x earned on dining and travel (1x all others)

CSP - 1.25 redemption
CSR - 1.5 redemption

CSP - bonus of 50k after 4k spend in 3 mos, plus 5k bonus points for adding AU
CSR - bonus of 50k after 4k spend in 3 mos

Other perks of CSR - Global entry fee or TSA precheck, Priority Pass lounge access. Both cards have trip insurance but I think the CSR provides better coverage (haven't looked into it much).

I'm not eligible for the SW plus bonus again lol. However, my dh is only 3/24 so my plan is to get him both personal SW cards end of this year and have points hit in Jan 2019 for CP. I like your thinking for the CF though. That may be an option is nothing else presents itself. I think a United card would be wasted on us so I'd rather get some UR points, even if it's not that much.

I mean if you have no other Chase card to get and you're going over 5/24 why not?

So you finish your spend in BGR, hit SPG Biz, then double dip Marriott and Freedom and then hit SPG personal. That's a solid plan for the next 10ish months!!

I definitely want Marriott, Hyatt and Ihg (throw in maybe the Marriott biz and SW biz). I have SW premier and cannot get the bonus on the Plus again until...OH WAIT...just checked my notes and that card is the one that fell off this month. For some reason I thought it was my BCP. Ok, so I can get the SW plus again!!! I could go for that and Marriott.

I need to explore the Citi cards. I don't even know what all is out there. I have the Costco citi card that they gave me when they cut ties with Amex.

You guys are so awesome and so fast! That's great, I keep getting confused and this is nice and simple. The CSR is scary with the $450 AF, if I'd have thought about it at the beginning of the year when I was applying for GE I might have done it because between the travel and GE credits it would have almost paid for itself. But now with GE not being due for a few more years it becomes a tougher decision.
