I love credit cards so much!

Thanks, I found it pretty quickly. It looks like she just need the EIN welcome letter, which I do have.

I'm currently at 4/24, but I just got a CIP in my name in November. I think I may go for the JB Biz now and then try for a CIP with the EIN a few months down the road. Although for business type, I have no idea what I'm supposed to put when applying with the EIN - is it still sole proprietor?

Wow, I should have held out a couple of days more. Just as a data point, I got instant approval for my 4th Chase Business card 2 days ago, all with my SSN. I'm not sure I'd recommend doing what I did, but Chase shutdowns seem to have slowed down, and I decided to roll the dice. I have an EIN, but I have never used it to apply for a credit card, and it didn't occur to me to use it for another CIP. I'm still under 5/24, so maybe I'll give it a shot in a month or two. Here's my history:
5/18: Chase Marriott Biz
9/18: Chase Ink Preferred
11/18 Chase Ink Cash
1/2/19: Chase United Biz
I also have 4 personal cards, last application in 11/17, and I've paid a second annual fee on a CSR.

All with SSNs??

OK I need some advice. Looking ahead to our Italy trip and trying to figure out our next move with points. We will most likely be flying out of Seattle and for the life of me I can not figure out what our best bet will be flying. Fly to Europe from Seattle and then on to Italy, or fly to the east coast and then on to Italy?

DH 4/24 (I think)
CSP 9/18
Venture 9/18
Amex Gold 11/18

Me 1/24
CSP 9/18
CIP 10/18

Thinking obviously I should refer him to CIP. There is a chance I will want to go for a companion pass for 20/21 so I need to be mindful of my 5/24. Should we be collecting UR's or MR's? Or searching for an AA business mailer? We will probably be staying AirBnB for most of the trip. We can knock out quite a bit of MSR in organic spend.
Also I will be needing 8 airline tickets. There was some talk before that I might not be able to book that many rewards points, so that is something to consider. I can not stress enough how much I appreciate this group and the advice I have received in the last few months. I don't get much time to actually post, but I read through and absorb as much as I can.

It is my understanding the SW biz 60,000 going away in a few days also, correct? I thought I would wait to get DHs biz, I don't think we will use CP until summer, but now wondering if I should not wait. With my just getting United and still finishing off personal SW I didn't want too much MSR as I am really trying to decrease our spending this year. And I didn't realize he was at 70K with Chase. I did lower some limits, but it was just last week. What to do, what to do.

What?!?!?!?

I got a SW personal on 12/1. I don’t know if I’d be able to get a Biz this soon. Plus, I still haven’t lowered my limits. Argh!

Okay so I'm looking at the cards I want to possibly get once I hit this $4k on the Aspire. Remind me again.....

Biz cards do NOT apply towards the 5/24, correct?
I have to be under 5/24 to have any luck w/ Chase, right? So I can't apply when I hit 5/24, I want to wait until I hit 4/24 if it's a Chase card?

I'm not looking to be under 5/24 until Oct/Nov of this year. The card I want is the CIP, no other Chase card is tickling my fancy right now. But there's a LONG time between now and Nov and other cards might come onto the radar, LOL. I mean at the point I'm regularly spending $2k/mo on a credit card, I almost feel it's wasteful if it's not going towards a MSR, LOL.

Yeah - in your situation you want to focus on only non-Chase business cards until November (AMEX, Citi, etc.). You need to get to 4/24 to be approved for the CIP. That is a long time...but it could be possible to fill the next 10ish months with biz cards :)

I would add, be wary of applying for Amex business (and personal) cards unless you intend to put continuous or very high spend on them. Amex is generally easy as heck to get approved for, but it’s much harder to maintain a good relationship with Amex long term (and not end up on the naughty “no bonus for you” list) if you plan to be constantly working on MSRs on new cards or putting your organic spend on cards with better category bonuses.

You might have caught chatter that folks have been getting pop up warnings that they’re ineligible for the welcome bonus when applying for a new Amex card due to their “history”, or having their bonuses denied after approval even though they didn’t get the pop up warning. Amex is sniffing out customers who they think are “gamers” or “churners” and denying them bonuses, and a telltale sign seems to be signing up for a new Amex card, hitting MSR and getting the bonus, then sockdrawering the card (putting no or minimal spend on it) until it’s time to close the card in a year.

Congrats on the "free" money!!! How much did you leave in to remain fee-free or did you down grade the account after getting the bonus? I am thinking of doing this but need to get all my steps in order.

Following on this... maybe I'll just do 5k all in DH's name on his CSP as long as I can move a decent amount back out to Ally.

@SBWB48 has 4 open Chase Biz cards all under her SSN (no EIN), so she might have some suggestions.

If you want to keep your SW Biz (and Marriott Biz and CIP), or its not time yet to cancel other cards, but you want to go for the CIU/CIC, the trick is to lower your credit limits on your Chase cards to as low as it’s acceptable to you (one billing cycle on the cards before you apply for a new card), and space out the timing of your apps.

I guess I should call Chase and see if I even have a retention offer on my SW Biz. If not it's kind of a moot point and I'll go ahead and cancel. If they do offer it then I'll decide. I'm planning on cancelling my Marriott Biz, but it doesn't renew until the end of June and the CIP I just got in Nov. I'll most likely be cancelling my SW Premier within the next month also, which will leave me with no Chase personal cards (will go for CSP or CSR after CIU/CIC). Thanks for the input!

That's so strange. My Staples Carrie's them, but everytime I go it seems like half their display is empty

I plan on cashing out a few today also. Enough to cover my room deposits. I figure I might as well cash out to cover our room as well as ILs, because I'm admitting that negating the cost is probably more useful for me than sitting on URs after accumulating more discounted Disney GCs. Especially as I was planning to use them for our room as well as ILs.

That sounds like a good price. I'm good for as cheap as possible - the less I spend on flight and hotel, the better :)

Maybe. We do have a lot of flexibility since it's just us and we dont have to use peak vacation times.
Our staples didn’t have a whole lot yesterday but definitely no Airbnb gift cards. I’m actually getting a little nervous to use gift cards because there are some real horror stories about Airbnb and their gift cards.

Probably hard to know for sure if they’ll go away or not since the Chase offers are so new, but several have expired now and I don’t think any of them have disappeared from the list before their expiration dates. So I guess that’s promising.
Our offer is from Amex

Sorry for all the questions. I am new to bank bonuses.
I’m hoping to go for the PNC bonus. I am working on meeting my spend for the arrival + so I’m thinking of using the 2000 to open the arrival. Anything I need to know? I see people mention cash advances? Do I have to keep my cash advance amount at 0 or something so it doesn’t go through as one? If so can I do that online?

Thanks everyone for being so helpful. We are on a super tight budget this year but I’m hoping with this board to get a trip next Jan. With the arrival + and PNC bonus, I am making a good start.

Okay so I read up a little more about the Barclay +. Does the capital one venture do the same thing where you can use cash back on travel expenses? It says with the Barclay you can do it up to 120 days after the spend. I might have to contact them and ask about if this company will count towards travel just to make sure.

Are you thinking of trying to open the account with 5k? The max charge for the opening deposit on a CC is 2k for PNC.

Sometimes the opening deposit has been counting towards the required DD's, so if it works out, your 2k on the CSP + 3k from somewhere else (and the debit transactions of course) should be enough to trigger it. If you do it quickly the bonus could post within the first 2 months that they usually grace period you for the monthly fees, then you can downgrade to the regular VW which only requires $500 min bal or $500 in DD's to keep fee free.

If you can't move 5k back and forth for 2 accounts at once, can you stagger the sign ups? To get the bonus you just have to sign up by the promo end date, not that it needs to be completed by that date. So maybe sign up for one now, then after that bonus posts, sign up for the other in March and repeat?
