I love credit cards so much!

Thanks...I keep thinking there has to be something that Citi believes is "worth it" but IMHO since I rarely stay 4 nights anywhere unless there's a lost luggage issue (I'm looking at YOU Air France :)) that's not a big perk for me. You and @Albort reinforced my belief...although it will be interesting to see how some bloggers will present it

We are in the same boat as you and rarely stay 4 nights in the same place. I can only conceive of one possibility that I would purposely get the card for the 4th night free benefit again, after cancelling. I have vowed that at some point, we are going back to Ireland and staying at Ashford castle for a full week. If it is bookable as a 4th night free I'd consider getting the card again just for that. I know Amex FHR has it listed but I can never find a bookable date online. The other option is to get as many travel cash back cards as possible, including a Wells Fargo Propel ... again ... *shudders at the thought* and MS the ever loving plastic out of them.

Quick update on us. DH just got his GE approval which was free with my Amex Platinum. I got mine free in June thanks to my CSR. DH also was approved for the IHG card so we're good for now. He signed up with the 80k link. I'm still working on my Hyatt card MSR.

Now looking to accumulate some airline miles for our 2019 travel.

Just got insta approval for the CSP. Got the CSR in December, but I have a $4,000 business expense next month so I figured the CSP was a good use for it. I'm just shocked at the credit limits they keep giving me. My total credit limit on all these cards is insane. I could buy a new dang house with credit

I did the same. After apparently screwing up and applying for the wrong SW card not too long ago and being denied, I finally got my courage up and applied for the CSP. I thought for sure I'd have to call and move credit around, but I too was approved instantly with a much bigger credit limit than I need. What the heck, Chase. I'm responsible and all that, but geez, even I would be unwilling to extend that much credit to myself.

And just a quick thanks to all on this thread. This is only my second bonus card, other than the SW I got a while ago. I was finally convinced to get the CSR, back when it was at 100000, and now I'll get another 50000 from the CSP. I don't maximize the bonuses like some of you pros, but I'm happy with what I've been able to do so far. I was able to get free flights for my daughter and I for vacation this year. I've also covered a bunch of my daughters flights home. She's in grad school quite a ways from home, so this has helped a lot! She lives two miles from Love Field, so the SW card was heavily used before I had the courage to dip my toes into the water with the chase cards. The best part was, she happens to have a long weekend around her birthday, and she asked if there was any way possible for her to come home for a few days. Why, yes, yes she can. Thanks everyone!

I forgot to sign up for the TSA Pre-Check system. Travel in October. Too late? I am also in Detroit so I can sign up for the Nexus Card system instead which I understand gives you the same TSA Pre-Check benefit. Would that process faster? Would CSR $100 credit apply to that?

DH and I did the Nexus card. It includes TSA pre-check, global entry and Nexus lanes when crossing between land borders, which is super useful for us since DH's family lives in Canada. Our closest airport is also DTW, but the Nexus interview was at an area near the bridge to Windsor in Detroit. The interview didn't take long, but it did take quite a while to get our approval before we could schedule anything, especially DH as a permanent resident (not a citizen). When we applied, I didn't have a card that gave the credit, so I am not sure if it would have worked. But the Nexus card only costs $50 every 5 years, so it is the best deal of the 3 options if you live near a land border crossing.

As Jen said, Nexus is great to get if you go to Canada, you breeze right past the lane of cars waiting to cross the border. It was less than 5 min to cross at the peach arch going into BC, which had a 30-45 min wait in the regular lanes. I don't know if the nexus counts for the credit, but I applied last year August, I want to say early to mid month and had my appt in October. I've used it for precheck on two trips and one driving into Canada.

I would suggest looking to see what wait times for appointments are, or call if you can't find out online for your area. I drove up to the border office near the border rather than using the closer Seattle office because it would have been months to get one in Seattle vs a few days at the other.

Got my rejection letter on the Barclaycard Arrival+. This would be my 2nd Barclaycard, I have their AA card. It stated "We need to verify information listed on you application" and had the direct phone number that security had give me to contact them. Glad I called earlier because I got the ball rolling on sending the requested docs a week earlier than I would have if I'd waited for the letter. But the recon analyst could have saved us both the effort of reviewing and asking q's if he'd just sent me straight to security review like Chase does. This is one weird company...

Gonna start moving those points to my CSR now and as soon as they post.
I'm obsessive about moving my points to CSR. I have no idea why, I'm not planning to redeem them any time soon, I just like seeing the lump sum of points all in one place. I'm still waiting for my 50K sign up bonus to post, too.

So, here's a newbie "doh" moment for you all. My wife has an old AmEx card that she doesn't use but I know the account is still open because she got a new card in the mail not too long ago. The card is still in her maiden name and she changed her name 8 years ago, that's how much she doesn't use this card. Anyway, the other day I was looking in the "sock drawer" and I realized that card is an AmEx Everyday. It was some other AmEx product when she was actively using it but I guess at some point they discontinued whatever card she had and changed it to an Everyday. So we've had an MR-earning card all this time and I didn't know it! LOL. Now I just have to get her to call & get her name changed on the card and figure out what her online log in is. I wonder if there are any MR points on it... do those expire? I don't know if she stopped using the card before or after they PC'd it to an Everyday so there could be if they don't expire.

Interestingly, got a new Amazon Prime Chase card today (actually a couple months ago but I just opened the envelop today). A card we have had for years. It's a very sleek metal card that is identical to the CSR, but solid grey. Odd for a no fee card that we only use on Amazon, but it still makes me happy for some odd reason.

She probably doesn't need to change her name. I have a Discover card in my maiden name & been married 28 years.

If the card is 8 years old she might not have made an online login for it...

Barclay is weird. I have the Arrival+ and was just recently denied for their Hawaiian Airlines card. ***? Really? I've had no problems getting approved by any other bank while holding more than one card. Very strange company.

I got it too a few months back. It does seem odd to have a fancy metal card for a no-fee product, but I'm definitely not complaining about the increase in cash back on Amazon purchases from 3% to 5%. We get things like paper products, cat food, etc. through Subscribe & Save so at 5% back that adds up. I got my DD's soccer cleats for $3 on Amazon because I had so much cash back saved up.

True. I'm pretty sure she did have a log in for the previous version of the card, but it may not have carried over.

u pay for prime though no for the metal card? If you ever get a Ink Cash Card, it makes 5x on amazon too(need an extra step + no protection). :]

DH and I are both at 2/24... we had Disney cards with signup bonus from 2015 we closed the accounts this year.. Those don't count towards our 5/24 and can apply for those at any time, correct? We can both apply sometime next year, hopefully they have the $200 GC promotion and still stay at 2/24?

You can get the Disney card if you are over 5/24, but it still counts toward 5/24.
So, if you were at 7/24, you can still get the Disney card, but you'd then be at 8/24. In your case, you'd both be at 3/24 if you each got the card.
