Staples has $100 MC gc on sale for $101.95.

Thinking of getting a few to use the 10% offer on DH’s Amex Delta Gold (old card, not trying to meet MSR). Does anyone have experience with MC from Staples? I could cash out via MO but was thinking of paying a few bills via Plastiq and the Masterpass promo or discounted Disney gc at Sam’s Club.
I bought one of the Staples $100 mastercards. I received the card several days ago, but no activation code or anything. I tried to register the card and was told that the funds were not added. Was I supposed to get something else from Staples? I tried reaching out to them and they are "researching" it.

So you are 4/24 but you've gotten 3 Chase cards this year, and a personal AMEX card.

Your wife is 4/24 and has gotten 2 Chase cards a month ago (and 3 Chase cards in the past 5 months).

You're not pushing the limit yet, but you want to be cautious. I would next consider either:
1) An AMEX biz card for wife
2) A Chase Ink Cash for you

If you did the Biz card for your wife, let that kill a couple of months, then do a CIC for you in Oct/Nov, then your wife could do a double dip at 4/24 for 2 more cards you really want. You could consider referring her to CF and CFU which ends up being a decent amount of points. You have a lot of options...I'd try to spread out the apps a bit though so you don't get caught going too fast. IF you haven't maxed out the CF category yet, you could also kill some time by buying MCGCs or VGCs at Walgreens and use that for some of your spend.
would you go for the 100,000MR SPG amex for DW?

Speaking of RMN (retail me not), has anyone done the Walgreens offer more than three times yet? I'm about to do round three today but wondering if I will have to cool it for the rest of this month? Thought I read something about only redeeming at a store 3x in 30 days.

I am curious on this as well. Wondering if there is a cap. I just did my 2nd today.

ETA ... Just read your post where you confirmed 3 times per month per store.

:rotfl: I get it. There weren't any lounges when we first got that card, but I will honestly admit that those lounges are a big part of why we keep it year after year (yeah, I know we need to come up with a new plan soon, but right now those lounges are worth the cost for my family).

the true reason i did wanted the plat card was for the perks. Originally was planning on getting the Amerprise card but i thought it is a good time to build up my MR points. Plan for a BBP around 6 months down the road.

yes, there should be a secondary letter with an activation code. But theres been an ongoing battle of funds missing from these cards. i know one person personally that is currently having issue figuring it out. another group i participate is also experiencing the same thing.

Ok, so United has crossed the line for me. In the mail today I have a MileagePlus GO prepaid debit card, the actual card with accounts numbers, already to go and completely unsolicited in any way. I know this because it's in my maiden name from an account I haven't logged into in over 2 years. (they wanted crazy documentation to change my name for an account that had 0 miles in it and a piddling amount of "lifetime" miles... couple weeks of faxing/mailing original documents or 30 seconds to create a new one, no documentation needed, hm, what to do? :p)

All of it makes it seem like it's something I ordered or applied for. It looks and sounds just like a CC activation letter. It's only in very, very fine print that it says "We received your name and address from United as someone who many have an interest in earning miles with a United MileagePlus partner. This card was not sent to you in response to an application. " So I could see it if it came from my current account, as I did sign up for the dining program 'partner' in order to keep my few thousand miles from expiring, but to send dormant accounts to a third party to set up unrequested banking accounts seems out of line. (not that they were very high on my list to begin with)

I have not received mine yet but I read, maybe on Slickdeals??, that you will receive a separate mailing with the activation code. And apparently, Staples mails these out with no info about that! kind of weird!

Like the UR's, would like to stay close to 5/24 but willing to be cautious to avoid attracting shutdown attention.

That’s my fear with going for a CSR and CSP double dip...I’ve had SW cards and the companion pass for years..it saves us a ton of money...so as much as I’d love to try I’m not willing to risk the Chase cards I have

In case anyone is wondering, the CSP link is working again. I was able to generate a link for my DS from the Chase link website.

Just coming to report that, mine's working now too. Well, I generated a new one that works, haven't tried the old one yet.
Offhand I'm not seeing the bonus for adding an AU. But I haven't read every word yet.
ETA: Hm, that's troubling. public offer still has the bonus listed in the offer details. Support links don't :(
Old links may still work but you get that 'this offer isn't available, redirecting to new offer' message.

Any hotel and/or restaurant recommendations for Pittsburgh? Cool things to see and do?

Dh and I will be staying there for 2 nights next week, combining driving back from dropping youngest at IU with meeting some of his clients he doesn't see often. I'll be hanging at the hotel without a car while he's meeting one morning, so ideally the hotel should be really interesting or at least within walking distance of a coffee place :rotfl:

Remember, we're super-new to churning so we don't have points to book with yet :goodvibes

DH was going to buy inventory for his eBay biz from Hot Topic and I was able to convince to let me purchase gift cards from Gyft. Of course, he forgot to go through the shopping portal for those points. (It was obviously my fault he forgot the portal when he has been doing this for some time...)

Thanks for all the great advice! I'm definitely going to look further into those credit cards and try to figure out what makes the most sense.

One question though, those sign up offers, won't those points likely expire before I have a chance to cash then in?

ok, credit card gurus- I need your help.

DH and I are planning a transpacific cruise in April 2020 that involves flying from Boston to Sydney and then from Hawaii back to Boston, and I would love to be able to reduce that airfare cost using points but I haven't played this game before, and am trying to get up to speed as quickly as possible (but sorry to say don't have time to read 2,000+ pages...). Would also be helpful to reduce hotel stays in both location if not a good strategy for airfare (knowing it can be difficult to get specific dates etc given blackout requirements).

We currently have Chase Sapphire with 55k points accumulated, an everyday Amex, an RCCL with 100,000 points that will go towards several cruises, Disney chase card and a princess cruise card by Barclays- none carry a balance and we have excellent credit.

I'm wondering if the promotion for 100,000 miles with British air would be a good option to consider when you look at their partner airlines who could also redeem the miles (at least what I think i understand.....)- let me know what else to think about.

TIA!

For the Chase UR cards as long as you keep the card open the points don’t expire
