Referred myself for the Biz Green from my new Biz Plat, and instantly approved!

Looking forward to seeing the 20k MR referral bonus, and those 5k+5k MRs Biz Green bonuses soon!

I assume your Biz Plat magically showed up in your existing logins? I checked both my personal login and business login and it hasn't appeared in either yet despite getting the approval e-mail shortly after I hung up with Beverly :( Wondering if it's because my card hasn't shipped since you applied much earlier in the day :guilty:

We are in New York using the free weekend nights from the Hilton Aspire card. Yesterday we went to the Empire State Building for the first time. It was a 15 minutes walk from the hotel. We tried out Broadway Roulette and wound up with tickets to see Chicago last night. To be honest I kept checking Stub Hub for Hamilton tickets and nearly pulled the trigger a few times but somehow managed to restrain myself. I was surprised to see we have a view of “the ball” from our room. It’s at an angle but it was still neat to see it from our room. NYE Times Square is on my bucket list but there’s no way I’m sitting in that crowd so this might be NA option. We got 2 water bottles a day, breakfast and drink coupons too but don’t know if it’s included or because of the Diamond status with the card.

The pink ball lit up above the Hilton sign is the Times Square ball.

So I have decided to start keeping track of how much I “earn” from this hobby every month. This month. I’m at $3,238. I’m counting all reward points that I earn at a low 1 cent per point to keep things simple. Im actually really impressed with how much I “made” this month, but I’m hoping I can do even better next month. I’m also counting what I earn when the bonus posts. My breakdown is as follows:

2 fidelity accounts for the $200 bonus ($400)

MR from two Biz Green and two referrals ($200)

Selling a Delta giftcard for $40 that I got with the Delta Amex Biz ($40)

Maxing my Discover 1% back with three $1,000 MO purchases ($27)

Buying three $300 giftcards on my Delta Amex with the 10% staples offer after fees for the cards ($40)

Testing out buying VGC from giftcardmall with the CIP coding as 3x. ($16 after fees, 2 $500 cards)

Saw a $10 eBay coupon on doc so bought something for 10.05($10)

60,000 Delta points posted for my SO’s Delta Biz ($600)

70,000 Delta points posted on my Delta Biz Plat ($700)

$75 rebate through CouponCabin for my Disney Shops order ($75)

CSP AU bonus ($50)

CSP spend bonus ($500)

CSR spend bonus ($500)

Bought 3 $300 giftcards with Amex Staples on my Amex Biz green got 10% back and 2x MR ($80)

I’d love to hear what you guys earn every month, but if you guys think it will cause too much clutter I’ll stop. I’m curious to see how next month will turn out. I have $1000 pending still because I opened some bank account for the bonus this month that hasn’t posted. My numbers may also be slightly off. The Delta miles could be worth more or less than 1 cent per point, but the URs are definitely worth more than that for me, but I’m trying to keep it simple for now.

Can this be considered a "business"?

I met my MSR for my hilton amex and was surprised the bonus posted immediately instead of after the next statement. The problem is I will most likely be making a return. Will they take the points away? I'll gladly spend the money again to make the MSR, but I wanted to make a reservation using points and I dont want it cancelled.

Amex bonuses post a few days after hitting MSR, unlike Chase where it'll go pending and post only when your statement closes.

If you make a return, Amex could claw back the bonus but it's likely harder for them to do with co-brand points. It's good practice to make up the spend from the return anyway.

Did you sell your Delta giftcard online? Was it a $50 card? I haven't done anything with the one I got from my Delta biz card. Raise takes 15%. Is there somewhere better to sell?

The $40 may not have been a fair valuation. I actually sold it to someone I knew who was booking a delta flight at a discount.

Hm, starting to wonder if the wrong amount posted. Have to make hubby look into it. A couple days after the statement closed he did get 3 points ( yes 3) but that's about the same date he gets points from his regular card so I assumed he just made a small charge. Like really small cuz it's listed as the bonus category spend.
I know the account is linked cuz he got the 15 elite nights. Grr.

Ok, I stalked the points into existence. The bonus and spend both posted today, clearly labeled "Premier Biz". Now to stalk the elite night... jk :)

Yesterday we went to the Empire State Building for the first time.
I had to make sure to go up in the Empire State building due to "An Affair to Remember" (not sure if any other oldie movie fans here). Anyway went up just before dusk so got to see the views in daylight and as it turned dark and the lights came on over the city. Awesome. Have a great trip.

Wells Fargo worked for me during the bonus frenzy last year around this time. I used WF for all 8 of the accounts we opened :rolleyes1 Not sure if that's an option for you, but I haven't tried the new M&T bonus since it says no bonus for anyone who's received a bonus in the last 12m.

No WF at the moment, and I'm not eligible for a bonus from them right now either. But thanks for the DP, if I can't make anything else work I'll look into it.

Aha, the Hilton Times Square! We stayed there 2 years ago on NYE. Nice hotel, but holy crap is it crazy. We stayed when Hilton was still doing a fixed point redemption, and as I recall it was 240,000 Hilton points for December 29 - January 1 (3 nights). Definitely one of the best CPP I've ever had if you're into that sort of thing. I won't do NYE there again or anywhere near Times Square though.

YOU SHOULD GO SEE HAMILTON. Think of your minimum spends! It's worth every single penny. We're going to see it again next Saturday! I do love New York. I recommend downloading the TodayTix app, you might find some discounted Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. Also, check out Broadway for Broke People (http://www.broadwayforbrokepeople.com/) for any information you could ever want about discounted shows. Some of our favorites are Hamilton (obvs), Kinky Boots, Stomp (Off Off Broadway, at the Orpheum Theater in the East Village), and Mean Girls.

Do you need food recommendations? Of course you do! For steamed buns and ramen, look up Real Kung Fu Little Steamed Buns Ramen at W 49th and 8th Ave. Ethiopian? Meske at W 47th and 10th Ave. Don't miss The Halal Guys at 53rd and 6th (bring cash!). I'll stop now.
