My own happy dance - :flower1::cool1::jumping1: Approved for the Citi Biz AA card. 70K miles sign up bonus. This was a key to my new plan for the miles I need for Hawaii.

New plan for Hawaii since I decided on the flights I want-> One Citi Biz and one Citi personal card for me and the same for DH. That will get us the miles for the first class anytime flights I want (need 135K each). If I get a saver award flight, that will just be more miles for something else!

Then I'll get the Marriott Nights and Flights cert for SW 120K RRs. The math just wasn't working for 120K AA miles. I either would be short or would be way over what I need. I don't want to bet on getting a saver award. I am not tied to an exact date but I don't want 3 layovers either which is what I was seeing on the savers out there. I know I can use the SW RRs.

This will take up one of my 5/24 with Chase but when I look at the cards I want with Chase, I still have enough spots for CSR/CSP and SW Personal/SW Biz Double Dips later.

Now off to pay the college tuition on DH's Hilton Biz card to meet spend and then put it in the sock drawer. He didn't even get to use it :rotfl2:.
Yay! Congrats!party: I was approved 9 days ago and anxiously waiting for my card to arrive. :rolleyes1Just a note, they send an envelope with card info and T&C first, no card. I got excited for a second.

Hi guys! So I took your advice and called the reconsideration line (Chase CIP, denied b/c of authorized user accounts putting me over 5/24) on Friday.. spoke to a really nice agent and he reviewed my application, asked me some more questions about business, etc. and then at the end said he needed to forward it on to a Sr. lending agent or whatever. He said I should find out in 48 hours and that they would notify me by mail but also in my Chase secure message center? Does this sound like a good or bad sign, ha?

Since he was so nice, I asked what he thought about me applying for another Chase card if I get denied for this one and whether there was a time limit, knowing that you all had told me that I shouldn't apply again for 30 days. I just wasn't sure if the 30 days counts from the day you apply or are denied and how a "reconsideration" would factor into that. He said that there is no hard and fast rule, and that he would always want to encourage me to apply for another Chase card, however, the amount of cards in a short period of time is something they would consider when making their decision. So a very "safe" response which doesn't really help me, haha. If I get denied, do you guys think I should wait 30 days from when I applied or got denied?

I am planning on meeting my MSR by buying new furniture for my home after my ex-DH moves out 8/1. But before that, I was planning on booking our DVC rental for February. We are traveling with DVC members who cannot book until July 23 and my plan is to see where they land and then immediately put in our request. If I don't get approved for the CIP, it will not be 30 days until after July 23. So I guess my backup plan is to use my Barclaycard which at least gives me 2% back on travel but not very exciting. I think I could still meet my spend for the CIP without the trip, but would make getting the CSR later this year tougher.

Fingers crossed the CIP comes through!!

I'm optimistic that you'll get the CIP.

A lot of times I'll read recon stories that go like, "can you reconsider my application by not counting the AU cards?" "Nope." End of story. Whereas, in your case, divorce is a pretty darn good reason to disregard your ex's cards on which you happened to be a removed AU. I think sending your app up the chain is just a formality. Fingers crossed for you! And keep us updated!

DO NOT apply for another Chase card until you find out about the CIP. For approval, as a Chase business card, the CIP requires you have had no other Chase applications within the last 30 days. You wouldn't want to apply for another Chase card while the CIP is still pending, and risk another card application being the reason you were denied the CIP again. When you find out about the CIP, you can either (1) apply for another personal card (like the CSR or CSP, but not both) within 30 days of the date of your last Chase application. You can be approved for a Chase personal card as long as you have less than 2 Chase applications in the last 30 days (which would preclude a double dip because that would take you to 3 applications in the last 30 days). Or, (2) wait 30 days from the date of your last application to reapply for the CIP, or double dip the CSR+CSP.

Remember that the CSR and CSP are also subject to the 5/24 rule. So if you were denied the CIP because you were over 5/24 with those AUs, you'll likely be denied for the CSR and/or CSP because of 5/24 too, unless those AUs have been removed from your credit reports or aged past 24 months.

I just noticed that Chase increased my new IHG limit from 13K to 15K, putting me at 75% of my total household income with them, not including my CIP. Baffling.

Yikes! Well that prompted me to go check my limits. Still at 30% of household reported income. Whew!

I don't fly Delta so I don't know what the value of a Skymile is.

Well, there is a reason they call them "Sky Pesos" and for that reason I ahve nothing but mad admiration for the Delta hostages that make that currency work for them. You go!

Congratulations! Joining your happy dance!

I love the bit about DH's Hilton Biz. We just started working on my wife's Hilton Biz. And by we, I mean me.

I was looking at the Hilton Biz bonus categories, and its earning rates are pretty decent (even when compared to UR) at restaurants, gas, and shipping. I may continue to use it now and then as a gas card when I don't have gas gift cards purchased at 5x UR.

I am happy to report another CIP approval! (And from another person who said she would never go for a business card.) I applied on Sunday and just called the status line and was approved. It is good timing as my husband is just finishing up his minimum spend on his CSR. Now I wait until Mar/Apr 2019 to cancel my CSR and go for my double dip after a nice break from Chase. Thanks for all of the tips here to get me through to this point!

And a belated approval party for @shairpdrh too! CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so glad to see you made the leap to business cards. This opens a lot more opportunities for you!

After the issue with not being able to use an AA gift card for a flight from Vancouver to Chicago(return home after cruise) I decided to buy DHs ticket for $165, on his CIP. Award tix were 25k each when booking opened and I didn’t want to use that many miles. OTOH I’m trying to pay as little oop as possible since the cruise itself is $$$, so I didn’t want to pay cash for 3 tix. Dilemmas, dilemmas. Well, today the award tix dropped to sAAver for 15k each. Yay! Booked DS & my tix ASAP.
So now I have pre cruise hotel booked on Hyatt points, post cruise hotel on SPG points, and flights (mostly) with AA miles. Between bank bonuses, Disney GCs at >10% off and BOA Premium Rewards Card cash back, I have 70% of the balance for the cruise. Few more bank bonuses and GCs and I’ll be set!

If I book a rental car using URs, will I still get the insurance coverage with my CSR? Trying to decide if I rent an SUV via UR for 25k or go through Budget for full-size car for $270 for our trip to DL from Phoenix. Nothing like booking last minute week long vacations.

Just found out Jingle Bam is starting Nov. 8 at HS and I'll be in the park on Nov. 9! Looking forward to seeing the decorations and show!

I'm excited it's starting on the 8th too. JBJB didn't start while we were there 2 years ago so I've been hoping it would start during this trip so I'll be at HS that night too.

Me three. We will be at HS for JB..and Epcot on the 8th for food and wine.

I'm doing MVMCP on the 8th so I can meet the 7 Dwarfs. I'll do other stuff but that's my main reason.
Still going back and forth on MVMCP.. I get a slight discount with the AP and still unsure about it. We are doing MNSSHP which is worth it (did it last year) but unsure about the Christmas party...

apparently theres not limit on those HEB gcs... so massive buyings... I pretty deep into gift card MS... did the amex offer 10% off at staples, sold those gift cards with a profit of $30.
Would love it if you could share some tips on doing this!!!

So my chase ur experience has been good to date but I’m currently not thrilled with them. Just called west jet about our tickets to Vancouver next month and they told me my flight from LGA to Richmond on Delta no longer exists (well basically they told me to call my TA). So I call chase and they have two systems, the lady keeps getting the information wrong and finally tells me the department I need to talk to is unavailable until tomorrow at 10 am.

Oh and my flight to lga no longer exists either. This is going to be fun to fix:(

Wow! That sucks. I hope they fix it for you.

Are you still doing MVMCP? I like that jingle bam is free lol

Yes! Bought my tickets about a month ago. We aren’t getting to Orlando until noon at the very earliest on the 8th, so I didn’t want to spend the money for tickets to the parks when I wouldn’t be there that long. MVMCP ended up being the perfect compromise.
