I love credit cards so much!

I did. I signed up on 6/28 and it was funded the morning of 6/29. I do have an existing 401k with them and needed to reset my password, so now I'm thinking that maybe that had something to do with it. So sad that I screwed up the easiest bank account bonus ever.
I had to reset mine too. You never got the “you’re registered” email? You can check your status there. How frustrating:(

Some people got the Amex offer twice, others didn’t but that’s it. And the more I read the more I see Safeway is very ymmv. Like Bed Bath & Beyond, so definitely not advisable to jump in whole hog right off the bat.

It would work for me if I had the offer as I can use the safeway cards for safeway groceries if nothing else.

Dang it, I ordered two under sink shelves to compare from Amazon... go to send one back and they're going to charge me $10 to ship it back. It was only $25 to start... guess I might as well keep it until we have another sink to store things under  or see if the inlaws can use it.

Note to self: read more carefully next time! Do not Amazon before bed when you're tired :rotfl:
If you choose the item defective or doesn’t work, it should change it to free return shipping. That’s the option I typically end up choosing. I was actually going to return a book the other day and Amazon ended up refunding me and told me that I didn’t need to return the book.

I would call Fidelity, you followed the promotion rules so should be eligible for the bonus, doesn't hurt in this case to call and inquire about it.

Oh, I am also getting a little nervous about DH's CIP. We had a big ortho bill that hit ON the 90 day mark, July 2. It is not showing the bonus anywhere yet. How long does that usually take? Should I be panicking yet? I have this fear that I missed it by a day or something but even if I did, there is usually a small grace period, right? Trying not to panic...

Thanks for the tip!

weird, TPG is saying something different --> https://thepointsguy.com/news/ritz-carlton-marriott-business-credit-card-changes/

edit: well, TPG says biz cards... but i would think it would apply to both. I wonder if its just floating now until Aug 26th.

The 3K is still on the old card and I haven't found anything that says anything about Aug 26. I'm trying to get to platinum and this may be something to add a night. I just had a night added so I know its not gone yet.

I added my MR card an hour ago and was hoping the offer would jump onto it. It didn't.:(

Not familiar with Amazon but if there are individual sellers like eBay...choosing this option just to avoid paying return shipping when there is nothing wrong with the item hurts the individual seller and they are charged the return shipping.

So June was a super busy month for me at work and I got really far behind on the thread (and basically everything in my life) but now I am back and trying to catch up on the last couple of weeks of posts.

Anyway, the first order of business is to cancel my SW cards that I got June 2017. The AF hit and I need to get the cancelled ASAP!

Any tips or things I should know going in? Is it weird to do both on one call or should I make two different calls? Any recent retention offers on either the Plus or Premier?

They both have high credit limits and I am hoping to do the CSP/CSR double dip next, so it would be good to open up some Chase credit.

Thanks!
Did you get your bonus miles? You can cancel within 30 days of the AF and it will be credited. So wait for any bonus points to hit your SW card first, and consider calling to see if they will offer you anything to keep the card. If the first person doesn’t offer anything, HUCA (hang up, call again)

Yikes, I was looking at the temps at DLR today and thinking “I hope no one I know is there!” Did the temps at least clear the park out some?
o
It was niece's birthday. My sister n law planned this a YEAR in advance. Talk about bad luck.
All the kids in between the whining about how hot it is had a good time. The Adults? We all
looked at each other with the same thought....High heat and crowds doesn't feel too "magical".

I have to admit though if you have to be somewhere where it is hot and crowded Disney can
ease some of the misery.

Needing advice from other Barclay Arrival + friends...I got the card almost a year ago and my AF will be hitting soon. I really would like to cancel but I am sitting on 4,750 reward points that I cannot use (need 5,000, I think for just statement credit of $25 or 10,000 for redemption against travel charge...which I have!). What should I do?? I do not want to pay the AF. Do I abandon the last bit of reward dollars, or is there an easy way to get my total up so I can redeem?

Well, I am catching up and I know this is old and you have probably already taken care of it or gotten advice but I thought I would chime in with my experience.

When I called to cancel by Arrival+ she talked me into PC for an Arrival. No fee. And you can redeem at a lower amount than the Plus. I think at 2,500? It is not longer available to the public, so no worries about missing out on a signup bonus.

DH called without talking to me first and also got a pc to a Barclay Rewards or something. I could have killed him (don't do anything without going through me first!) but when I researched it, it seemed like an OK pc. Again, he kept the points and can redeem at a lower amount.

Has his statement closed? If you met the minimum spend on the last day of the statement then it might not post until the next statement.

Well, my one year should have been 6/15, so I thought for sure that I would have those reward points and be ready to cancel but I am not seeing them when I login. Does that seem odd? I don't want to wait too much longer because I don't want to get stuck paying that AF but how long does it usually take to get those bonus points?

Oh no. I hope you stayed hydrated, took it slow, and got in lots of shade. And I hope the parks weren’t too crowded because of the heat. If you’re going again today, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln and the Main Street Cinema are great places to take shelter from the heat, Haunted Mansion, It’s a Small World, and Pirates are nice long dark rides; and in DCA, the Animation Building is big and ACed and has lots to do, the Hyperion Theater is a nice place to sit in AC while watching Frozen live, and Disney Junior Live is ACed and fun for the kids. (Eta and don’t forget the Little Mermaid ride in DCA.) It’s supposed to be just as bad today. We had thought about making a trip to Disneyland this week, but we’re so glad we didn’t. Try to make the best of it!

Thanks for this. We live in So Cal so i usuallly avoid the park during the summer but this was a Birthday Party so a one and done.
Least it was dry heat. People that live in high humidity places I don't know how you do it but hats off to you.:worship:

Finally got around to checking to see if I was targeted for the MR / Amazon promo. Nope.
Womp womp.

#DidntNeedToSpendMoneyAnyway
I wasn't either . For 2 days i tried. I went and "added" an Amex card and linked it even though i had another one
on account. Next day it popped up. Might want to try that.

Are there individual sellers on Amazon like eBay...if so I don’t recommend saying something is defective or does not work...if there is nothing wrong with the item....on eBay the seller then has to pay the return shipping and may get a knock on their account

Yes there are a TON of 3rd party sellers. The only reason i know this i have 10 dollar credit from Discover if i buy something
sold by Amazon. Lot of things in my shopping card were 3rd party. I had no idea because alot of those sellers do prime also and sometimes cheaper.

I did this last year or the year before? They do offer some points if you downgrade so make sure you get those. In hindsight though i wish i had just closed the card and applied
again after couple of years since the card is sock drawered. I'm pretty sure this is churnable.
