Ok so I called the cruise and tours department and got someone for my NCL cruise transfer. I tried Melissa again and got her voicemail, so that's an improvementBut I called back to try Leon's extension, who also wasn't available but I got dropped into another queue this time. (I don't know why Melissa was special and I got an option for her voicemail, but I guess maybe they just know Melissa is special
I've been in Leon's vm before but he didn't call back so I'm not so loyal to him anymore
) I spoke with Terrance (x1118118) and he told me the same as Leon, the first time you need to make payment is when you need to use your UR. Since I made a deposit already, I could use my UR when it gets transferred but I don't need to until a payment is due. If I had the cruise on a hold or something and needed to make payment when it was transferred then, yes, if I wanted to use UR I'd have to use them then for that payment. He asked when my final payment was and when I told him it was a late 2019 cruise so it wasn't due until next year he said I had plenty of time to use my UR then.
The only thing a little off was he said I had 60 days to transfer it but the NCL site says 30 days. So he could have misspoke, the NCL site is outdated (which is not totally uncommon), or he had outdated info. I'm going to go with "the answer I want to hear" and transfer the cruise to him. My worst case scenario is I pay with UR at transfer and then the balance next year, which I am prepared for.
Tagging @bernina and @Natgridenergy as I think we are all looking at NCL transfers right now.
Need help picking a hotel in Nashville. They finally listed the hotels with discounts for the one annual work conference I attend. Choice between Westin Nashville (1 block from conv center); JW Marriott Nashville (4 blocks) or Hilton Nashville Downtown (2 blocks). I have the SPG Biz and the Hilton Biz BUT I have to use work CC so not sure how much that matters. I am leaning toward Westin as I normally am very happy with Westins; it is the closest (laziness on my part). Any reviews from my credit card friends to help me out?
Not sure if @kayteekt has looked at any of these? I know she is going for a conference/fun. I am going (hopefully) in November for a weekend, but am planning on the Hyatt Downtown for 8k points a night. But I was basing my decision on location and points. If you're at the convention center a lot, I'd probably go with the Westin to be able to just hop over easily...Need help picking a hotel in Nashville. I totally thought Chase Ink Preferred was 3X UR at office supply stores. Found out its not when my amazon gift cards from Staples only coded 1x.![]()
Side note -- I confirmed with NCL dispatch and it is 30 days.

Subject: Transfer from NCL to Agent
My travel agent is telling me that I have 60 days from booking to transfer to them. Your website says 30 days. Can you please confirm what it is.
Thanks
Thanks for the update and summary. Here’s where we are on our NCL transfer to Chase.
June 4: Cruise booked directly with NCL, $150 deposit paid.
Tuesday June 26
DH called Chase Travel and Tour (or whatever it’s called) and was originally bounced around to a few different numbers. He tried to enter Melissa’s extension but as others have pointed out they recently changed the extension system so it didn’t work. He ended up with a rep named Odelia. She sent him a NCL document that needed to be competed along with information on what travel agent to list (Loyalty Travel). DH filled out the form and scanned/emailed to the NCL email address listed (****@cxloyalty.com).
Wednesday June 27
He received an email from NCL this morning indicating the transfer was complete.
I was finally able to login to UR portal and I moved enough points over to the CSR to cover remaining balance (around $3600 = 240,000 UR points).
Chase rep (Odelia) called DH and said balance needed to be paid in full at time of txfr. I told him to just pay off since we had the URs and he confirmed we can cancel for full refund per NCL policy. They would refund our URs and NCL our deposit. We may have been able to push back on paying but took the easier route.
A few hours later Chase emailed confirmation of the cruise with a new Chase booking ID and summary of all payments made (NCL deposit which indicated paid directly to vendor, balance payment made to NCL I assume using a Chase travel MasterCard (not our card), and then memoing our redemption of UR points).
Heres the full list of Travel Disclosures sent if anyone wants to read through.
So far so good, will update with any new information.
One thing to note, the cruise was booked directly through NCL with me as the primary passenger. When we filled out the transfer we put it in my name. DH has the CSR and there were no issues with him calling and handling the transfer.
Our Chase rep also said we only have 30 days to transfer. NCL documentation indicated that as well.

What I'm not clear about is whether downgrading the CSR to the Freedom now would make her eligible for the CSP bonus now? Or would she need to wait until November or December (which would be 2 years after she received the sign-up bonus for the CSR)?
Can someone help me out with the details of the Chase CSR/CSP rules? I know you can only have one at a time but beyond that I'm kind of confused. My MIL is somewhat open to getting a new card -- I walked her through the CSR sign-up in November 2016 and she really likes that card, so she trusts me and my credit card advice at least a little (FIL, however, is in the "one card is all I need and more will wreck your credit score" camp. Fortunately my MIL is pretty independent and doesn't really agree with him, but that's been their household mindset.)
Anyway, since MIL likes the CSR and is familiar with URs, I'm thinking the CSP might be a good next card for her. I know she would need to downgrade the CSR to a Freedom, which would mean a slightly lower UR redemption, unless she "moved in" with us and transferred them to me to redeem for her, but even if she redeemed them with the CSP, the sign-up bonus would more than off-set the lower redemption.

I think she has to wait until she is 24mos after receiving the bonus for the CSR.
She'll need to wait 2 years from when she received the bonus, so I'd double check the statements to see when it posted. I opened my CSR in October 2016 and the bonus posted in Nov 2016, so I'm going to wait until at least December to try and apply. I'll just downgrade my CSR around when the AF hits, but I'm going to try and use the next travel credit before doing so.Can someone help me out with the details of the Chase CSR/CSP rules? Thanks. He is at 2/24 with the AUs so he will be 0/24 when they are removed. CSP is already removed from Chase as of today. I requested removal CF just now. I will continue to check his credit report to see when they drop from there.
Just be aware that asking Chase to remove DH as an AU won’t remove those accounts from his credit reports.
DH (or you on his behalf) will either have to file a dispute directly with the credit bureaus to remove reference of the credit cards on which he’s no longer an AU; or from DH’s Chase account, SM Chase to request they remove reference to those credit card accounts from his credit reports at each bureau to which Chase reports because he is no longer an AU on those cards, is no longer and has never been financially responsible for those cards.
I'm going to try and use the next travel credit before doing so.
Thanks. I thought they would drop. Will they at least appear as inactive?
Edit - DH does not have an online Chase account.
I got that yesterday but PHL is a AA hub. Newark is a UA hub and JFK and EWR are Jetblue hubs. Those are the closest airports to me so Delta doesn't really fit with my plans. Now that everyone has encouraged me to bust out of 5/24, I feel like I'm rolling in credit card offers. I just got an email for the Delta Gold card for 50,000 miles after $1,000 spent. Has anyone else received this offer, or is this pretty standard right now? DH already has the Delta Gold card from many years ago, so he can't get it.
Ah that's a good thought -- I wonder if it's possible to get another travel credit before cancelling. I know she applied Thanksgiving weekend, so she probably got the card in December. The travel credit is by calendar year, though, correct?
The AU accounts will appear on DH’s credit reports as closed, but if your cards on which DH was an AU are less than 24 months old, Chase will still count them against his */24 as a card that was opened in the past 24 months.
