Thanks to all who post here! I really am going to have to figure out some kind of manufactured spending or else we will be stocking up on grocery store and gas gift cards.
Question, what are the best hotels for WDW nights on the Marriott and IHG cards respectively? I love my IHG perks (free nights at DL this year!) but unsure of options near WDW for these brands.... (as for Starwood, hello Swan and Dolphin!)
What credit cards with the best rewards do yall recommend? We have been tossing around the idea just for the points with purchases! We don't fly much, mostly drive when traveling!
We have stayed at the Courtyard, Spring Hill and Fairfield in Marriott Village and all were clean. Spring Hill and Fairfield offer free breakfast.
I haven't had the IHG card for a year yet so we haven't used that particular perk. However we may be using it for for a pre might stay in Rome next year during our Adventures by Disney trip to Italy. I'm really looking forward to redeeming the annual nights for a stay in Bora Bora. Overwater bungalows here we come!!!!
The Marriot free nights have an expiration date. I think they are valid for 6 months.I would looooooooooooooooooooooove to go to Tahiti!!!!!!!!!
question for the annual nights.... do they expire? say I get 1 free night per year. Could I save the nights for 5 years and pool those 5 nights to use in one trip? I don't have a hotel credit card yet but am looking to get one.
DH got instant approval for CSR even after he just opened a CSP in May! I never thought I'd be excited that Chase allowed me to instantly owe them $450.
My question is, what do we do with his CSP? Should we try to have it downgraded? He already has a Freedom, will they downgrade the CSP to a Freedom Unlimited? Do they ever let you switch to co-branded cards like a Disney Visa?
.I applied for the IHG, I didn't think it was a Chase or I wouldn't have applied since I just applied and was approved for the CSR. I got an instant "we need more time", followed by an email indicating I would hear from them within 30 days with either a card or a letter with the reason I was denied. I really wanted to get it because I will be spending the next 60 days at a Holiday Inn Express.
Can anyone tell me how long it took to receive the CSR after they were approved? I have to pay for my DD's wedding flowers by the 14th, plus will missing out on points for my hotel beginning Monday. A week ago I was pretty much clueless about the benefits of points, today I am obsessed.

Call Recon...
You can always call in to Chase and ask for another card expedited - not l sure if it costs or not. I've done this 24 hours after approval to allow for the initial card to ship standard USPS.
I just found the number in a previous post and will give them a call.
Thanks for this, I will call the recon # and also ask about getting another CSR card expedited.

So it's either Tahiti or the Maldives. Yes, they do expire and you must use it or lose it each year. One thing I really like about the Club Carlson card is that hey give you 40K points every year which you can let pile up as needed. FWIW: I literally just got off of the phone with Chase for my business Ink+ card. I was approved on the 25th of August - still no card. They're expediting that one 1-2 business day. I would imagine that a HVC like the CSR would be able to be shipped expedited for no cost or worry. Just tell them you have a decent sized purchase that you want on that card and would be super happy if they sent it quickly.
YMMV (as always)

Overwater bungalows are on DH's bucket list. My job is getting us there with as little out of pocket as possible. His criteria is clear water that allows you to see to the bottom. That means the Poly at WDW is outSo it's either Tahiti or the Maldives. Yes, they do expire and you must use it or lose it each year. One thing I really like about the Club Carlson card is that hey give you 40K points every year which you can let pile up as needed.
Congrats on the Ink+! My mom got her CSR card yesterday even though they told her 2 weeks. There are many that have tried to get the card expedited and were unable to do so. Chase ran out of metal cards to issue as hey didn't expect to have the volume of applications that they have had for this card which may have been the cause for the initial delay LOL So they are now issuing plastic cards.

I am with your husband!! Definitely on the bucket list. It just looks so beautiful!! Good to know about the Club Carlson card.
and LOL at CSR being a plastic card now. Who wants to pay $450 for a plastic card?!![]()
That depends. If you plan on keeping the CSR then product change the CSP to a Freedom Unlimited. If you don't plan on keeping the CSR then hold tight and when the annual fee comes due next year, product change the CSR to the Freedom Unlimited. The break even point for keeping the CSR over the CSP is annual spend of $3200 in dining and travel.
Thanks for that Info. So your mom received her card in 3 days, wow.
