I love credit cards so much!

DH tried to use my CIP to book a flight on Norwegian Air to Ireland, but said they were charging “all kinds of fees” since it was a business card. Is that normal?

This thread moves quickly! Thought I'd ask again in case my post got lost in the mix of things, and again, apologies if this should be asked elsewhere:

Not sure if this is the place to ask so forgive me for my lack of knowledge :lovestruc I have a Marriott Card which comes with a free night. When I booked our upcoming reservation for D.C. (booked in February for July) our free night was not yet available. We are staying 6 nights using points for the 4 nights (stay 4 get one free) plus the certificate. How do I apply this now? I just logged onto my reservation and clicked Apply Certificate to this reservation and when I looked at the new charges it took away all of my points and showed room charges. Is this not possible to do?

Maybe not online? I'm sure if you call they can straighten it out. Are all nights available for points booking right now? Personally I would think it'd do just like you thought, but maybe if a points night was missing it went straight to cash for all?

But the phone reps used to stich together all kinds of bookings for us before.

@Judique You are not a bad grandma at all! After I told my dd's about the McD's experience, my dd15 said she was glad I got them Happy Meals because now they have had a 'true childhood'. I guess they were deprived before lol!
Well, the McD's on Harbor across from Disneyland has saved me on more than one occasion! DS10 is a super picky eater and he just never seems to eat much when we're in the parks, so he gets hangry very easily. When we're traveling, sometimes we just switch to survival mode and we'll take whatever works and makes everyone happy! I am so thankful for those golden arches sometimes, lol!

I've booked several flights (all domestic) on CIP recently with both cash rates and points and haven't had any additional fees beyond the usual $5.60.

Just remember to all of you who get grossed out by the cheapo hotels- the only time I've gotten bedbugs in years of staying at crummy hotels was at the $480 a night ski lodge in Jackson Hole, WY :) Fortunately, they did not travel with me for the rest of my 10 day vacation.
Exactly why I check everywhere... I'v checked Pop, the Dolphin, BLT, RPR at Universal, the Hyatt by DLR... and my hometown Quality Inn across from the prison that I swear isn't that sketchy :rotfl2: Though our stay there over Memorial Day weekend actually was a bit sketchy. :sad2:

Yep, pretty sure we will visit the golden arches at least once for my boys. My girls won't eat it...My oldest read a book about fast food processing years ago and it focused mainly on McD's. She was done after that and her younger sis just followed suit lol. And my dh will be thrilled! Between Disneyland and being 'allowed' to enjoy McD's, he will completely turn into a child and I might need to buy him a Mickey balloon too :rotfl:

The reservation was originally booked for 6 nights at a total of 100k points (5 nights @ 20k plus the 5th night free) and I had plenty of points to cover it all. I will give it a try calling. Thank you!

I had never checked before this happened. I still don't always remember to, but I did when we stayed at the Super 8 the other weekend. What was really bad was that I didn't realize it was bedbugs since I had no experience with them. I thought I was having some sort of allergic reaction since my hand and throat were itching, and my aunt had no symptoms. I woke myself up scratching my hand during the night- I was almost bleeding from scratching it so hard in my sleep! It wasn't until my aunt and I were in another hotel 150 miles away the next night that we realized what it was.

You may need to book it as 2 separate reservations - one to use the cert and one for the cash/points. Can you book a one night res for the cert? Then maybe reduce the other reservation by one night - so you'd have the arrangement you want. If you can do that, then I'd call the reservation line and ask them if they can merge the two reservations (be sure they are for the same room type).

If I understand correctly, DH and I should NOT add each other as an authorized user, correct? Given that I do the majority of the spending (LOL), what do you recommend? Do I get a second card with his name and just use it? Most places I just put the card in the chip reader and be on my way, but if I have to sign, do I sign his name? But then does that raise a red flag because I'm obviously not a "Richard."

Still stuffed from breakfast, so round #2 at Timberline was going to consist of a large glass of Benzinger Cab (which is actually decent, unlike the mimosa I left behind)... and then the guy next to me ordered the lemon dessert. Will power out the window! (It’s ok imho, would order again on Priority Pass but not if I was paying cash.)

My dh's spg biz has never even touched his hands lol...I do all the spending with it and have always signed my name. Not an AU'er but it hasn't seemed to matter?? Obviously, signing is less a thing these days anyways.

Definitely don't do AUs. When I have requested an expedited card from Chase, they expedite me a card and almost always send me a second card by regular mail too, so that may be one way to get them. Also, if you SM or call Chase and say (ahem, lie) your card has been damaged and you need a replacement, they'll send you a new card with the same numbers. My dog chewed my new CF last year and I got a new card that way, all numbers were the same.

You can add employees on business cards without it counting as AU on their reports with Chase.

Also, I've used DH's CIP multiple times including out of state at hotels without him being there and never had an issue.

That looks delish! I would never pay their prices either. Ever! But for free, the food was good :)

So I just called to try for a retention offer on my Southwest Plus card and was thrown for a loop when the rep tried to talk me into canceling! She said she sees I have a Disney card and an Amazon card, both with no fees, and a Chase Sapphire Reserve which is better than the Southwest card for travel rewards, so there was no point in keeping the Southwest card! I was so thrown off I just said I need to think about it, thanked her and hung up. What in the world?!

ETA: she also said there was no point to having all these cards when I could just use the Reserve for everything! I wanted to say but what about the signup bonuses!!! Have you not been on the I Love Credit Cards so Much thread on Disboards?! lol

Yep, just get a replacement card. Do not pick the 'lost or stolen' option if you have to pick a reason. Hubby has my Discover card, picked out his own design and everything and I just got his AmEx card... which looks totally like mine so I'll have to put a sticker on it since I'm not in the habit of looking at my name on my cards :)

Do not sign his name, that would be forgery. Just sign yours if you have to sign. If the one in a million chance it comes up for an audit or something (between the store and card issuer) and somehow you were contacted about it DH would just say he authorized you to use his card. But I highly doubt that would happen.
If someone asks about it you could just say you accidentally swapped cards with DH. If you have the same last name I don't think anyone would bat an eye. Different names might get trickier, but even before I changed my name no one bothered with me using hubby's card.

Ok, I'm so unfamiliar with booking through the Marriott site :rolleyes1

How can I put it under someone else's name/add them as the other guest so they can also check in and use my points??? :confused3

Agree. My DH's hilton biz is in my wallet and he isn't aware he even has a hilton biz. :rolleyes1
