DH just referred me to the CIP. How kind of him
. I got the 30 day message when I called in.

Best case scenario here would be achieving Marriott Gold by 7/31/18 would get you Platinum until end of Feb 2020.
Wow, he reached 50 nights by end of March?? At that rate he'd be Platinum anyway!
DH just got approved for CIP yesterday. The only other Chase card personal or business is the old CI. Currently, he's at 2/24 with one falling off 9/18. Our (my) plan is for me to apply for the CIP next. After that (Fall/Winter), he can apply for the CSR or CSP. Well, a few days ago, he received the Amex Delta Gold 60,000 miles/$1,000 spend, $50 statement credit offer. I've been tempted to apply due to spend being so low and we can use the miles (Delta hub). But, I'm wondering is that really a waste of a good Chase slot.
Been going back and forth about this so just need to hear another thought.
Isn’t that offer the same (or similar to) the offer thru support links right now? I think it’s available on the Biz card too so no 5/24 concern if you go that route. Maybe that offer is slightly lower though, I can’t recall.DH just got approved for CIP yesterday. The only other Chase card personal or business is the old CI. So Dh has one more stay, after tonight, to re-up diamond at Hilton for next year (30 days).
I am on the fence with having him switch to starriott now to earn status there after next week. We have never done that before, but I have never obsessed over points until this year. (Maybe slightly addicted)
He got the SPG biz so got the 5 nights credits (2 stays i think) from that. So would the best bet be to do SPG stays now and try to hit platinum (23 more stays) by Aug 1 and that would turn into Marriott platinum through Feb 2020? I'm not sure marriott plat is even that great over gold. We won't use the 48hr guarantee. I guess the breakfast would be nice, but only on the occasional leisure trip. He doesn't need free breakfast for work trips. Oh, the extra point earning rate would be good. Hmmnnn...
Do you have big plans for a Starriot hotel stay in 2019? If not, then it won't really matter.
We did the Bahamar in Feb while in Nassau on our DCL cruise and loved it. I wish I was smart enough to have realized I could have used points. I think you’re correct that you won’t have to use resort fees.
It worked out great for our family, me, DH, DS 24, DS 22 and Dd18. We loved the pools and the beach. Didn’t get to use any paddle boards as they were all being used. There is one pool with a cliff jump that we all enjoyed.
We’re planning to go back for my DDs spring break next year and stay for a few nights ....on points! Ended up getting the Hyatt card for my DH! Comes with 40K points.
Ditto, I went hard with Chase for myself... With DH he's only at 2 Chase cards and the SPG personal... and I don't know when he'll get to 5/24 because we are going to take it slow this next year and see what cards work best for our travels. We only take one vacation a year, so we don't need to open a ton of cards to get free travel.Another slow churner here so my thoughts mirror @disneymagicgirl's. We really push the whole 'get all your chase cards first' but sometimes, there are more useful cards for your spending habits, travel style, etc. I got three non-chase cards while still under 5/24 and I also do not regret any of them. They were cards that I thought may go away (SPG), had a great offer (barclay arrival+) or were really beneficial to me (BCP).
I think the offer your dh received might be the best out there right now but I'm not sure if is the highest ever for the card or if a better offer might come along. You should definitely check into that.
Southwest will eventually offer interisland flights in Hawaii. https://www.bizjournals.com/pacific...t-airlines-to-service-interisland-routes.html
Makes sense they want to get the main routes set up and going first. At least they've realized to get the full vacation package they need to have them, plus if they can get it going at a good rate I imagine they'll get local business or take away from the others.
Disney Wholesale told me they don't have access to standalone tickets so that's a no go. Hopefully we get the Disney confirms in a few days once they've fully processed the tickets! So I think we got the tours department to get us our Disney tickets! Thanks @gottalovepluto for encouraging us to HUCA! But my DH did at work so I wasn't there to ask questions. He called me all triumphant saying I got them, we can pick up at Will Call. I am like, ummmm, NOOOOOO. So I am still waiting for my Chase confirmation. Do you think I can just call the Disney Wholesale to get the right numbers to add to MDE?

Wow, color me surprised. That's very ambitious! Inter-island flights are expensive to set up, can be difficult to fill, and not to mention there are already established local carriers in that small market.
I'm not a big Southwest flyer, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Southwest do multi-stop flights? I could see Southwest incorporating inter-island service into multi-stop flights involving smaller markets that wouldn't otherwise fill up when flying direct.
I am a big southwest flyer but didn't know you can o multi stops. That is cool!
