I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

For example, Hawaiian cardholders are supposed to see discounted fares when redeeming points, which I'm not. And I can't get a straight answer on whether I'm going to get free checked bags like I'm supposed to for my flights to Honolulu in February.
aha ok thanks!

Is that how AA works with regards to free checked bags associated with CC? The tickets are not required to be charged to the card for the benefits to apply?

LAX

Yes. I know there's another, but it's an airline I don't generally fly, but Alaska is the one I know that requires you use the card.

Delta doesn't require it.

Uggghh, trying to book a Marriott room and I guess I was taking too long. So now I'm unofficially locked out of my account for a bit.

It's the Disney area and I need a night near Disney but not on the grounds or even adjacent so I was reading a lot of reviews and trying to avoid parking fees and resort fees. I was definitely taking my time.

They got tired of me and locked me out. Switched browsers and tried clearing cookies.

It lets me search just won't let me sign in.

edit: 5pm was able to log in and make a reservation.

I also need to go into the branch to change my name to my married name on all my banks accounts and on all my credit cards as well, if they can help me to do so. I applied for my BizCSR under my maiden name because I didn't want it not to show up under my business log in. Sigh, what a PITA. I am afraid to change my loyalty program names until I change it at Chase because if they are different, I can not transfer points.

I will wait to apply for the CSR after my name change is completed. Hmmm... should I product change my CSP now or after I change my name? Decisions, decisions...

My branch wasn’t able to help and just provided the same name change form that I had received via secure message.

Hopefully you will have more success with your branch.

I just got home from the branch and the personal relationship banker was able to change my name on all of accounts on my personal profile, even if they were joint accounts. I just needed to show him my new drivers license with my new name as proof. (Citibank needed me to bring in my marriage certificate and SS card as well as my husband to change my name on our joint account.) I had to sign all new signature cards for the accounts.

He could not help with the credit cards but told me that I needed to call each card individually to get them to change my name at which time they would issue me new cards with the new name and a new account number apparently! He informed me if I do nothing, when my personal cards expire and Chase sends out new cards, they will automatically come in my new name (and I assume a new cards number?).

I did NOT change all the names on my business accounts. Because they were all unique entities with separate TIN, I did not need to do so at this time. When I want to, the business relationship banker would help me, one company at a time. The business relationship banker at my branch had just left Chase and they were waiting for his replacement.

I will start dealing with the credit cards that I use or want to keep one at a time now, I guess...

I realize it varies from airlines to airlines. I am more familiar with UA, and like AS, it does require the tickets to be charged to the card for benefits to apply.

have you found any good options for what you described? I'm always on the lookout near there too

I drive down and for this trip I have a Marriott 35k FNC and a Hyatt FNC to use up as they both were expiring. Decided to do a Residence Inn at Lake Nona off 417. It's then straight to AK in the morning after breakfast at the hotel, do a few things and then go check in at BWV. That opens up a travel day into a full parks day as after my AK and BW checking in, I'll head for Epcot or DHS. Just stretching my points a bit. The Hyatt night will get used in Florence, SC. No more Hyatt free nights as I closed the card yesterday. That's not to say I won't reopen it eventually but I decided to get my AF back as I paid it on the 1st. I had that card for 8 or more years.

I'm culling cards. Next to go is a CIU. Then 2 disney cards. Need to get to a simpler portfolio. Those will get replaced eventually but I'm in no hurry.

Today I need to go shop my IHG 10% grocery chase offers. I have it on IHG OG and IHG biz. Biz came later.

Hm, one can have more than 1 Disney card? The Premier plus the regular I'm assuming?

Yes, if you plan correctly you could get one every year by alternating the regular and the premier each year as they are each regulated to 2 years before you can reapply. Works for me as I don't do a lot of personal cards so not too worried about 5/24.

I read that Chase is doing away with 5/24.

Quick blub wrt my recent trip to Florence, Roma and Athens via Boston.

I had a daytime from BOS-->LHR that departed at 7:25am, so positioned myself in Boston early the day before. I booked the HR Boston Harbor for 12k Hyatt points (transferred from Chase); I called the hotel when I landed and took the shuttle to the hotel (waited around 15 mins). My room was ready when I arrived around 11:45am, grabbed the key card, went upstairs, unpacked and took a taxi (the water taxi was going to be a half hour wait and I had missed the ferry) to Faneuil Market to wander and enjoy some lunch (courtesy of my AmEx Resy credit). Took the subway to Newbury Street to hit Lululemon for a $75 GC, was passing Levain Bakery and ended up with a slice of pumpkin loaf and a pumpkin chocolate cookie (both of which lasted me for a week lol), walked to Saks for a $50 GC, then to The Banks for dinner (courtesy of Chase).

HR Boston was meh -- the a/c did not cool the room down and the bed wasn't very comfy -- I did not sleep well; not sure if I would stay there again -- I wanted to be close to the airport for my early flight and it had a free shuttle, so it ticked a few boxes. I forgot to take pictures, but it was a run-of-the-mill hotel room. A strange thing happened when I was heading downstairs to explore -- a huge picture fell off the wall a few feet from me. Never had that happen before and glad that it didn't hit me (which it would have if I had left my room a second or two earlier).

I had called BA and AA (booked on AA and flew BA) to inquire about upgrading from biz-->first prior to departing but was getting quoted the cash difference of $13k LOLOL. When I got to the airport I went to the BA desk and asked what the cost would be and was quoted $900; I thought about it for a second, then accepted.

The flight was nice, pajamas were comfy (I changed into them for the daytime flight!), the amenity kit was Elemis and full of nice goodies that I will definitely use. Breakfast was pancakes, which were good. The snack / second meal was a lobster roll and it was also good. At Heathrow I visited M&S (of course -- love the food there!) and grabbed a salad for dinner and a small smoothie for the next morning.

I booked the Sofitel at T5 through Rove Miles, no issues checking in. I think the view was of the lobby of the hotel -- it was dark when I arrived and dark when I left so I didn't care. The room was cool, quiet, the bed was comfy, shower was perfect -- I've stayed here before and would stay again. Had an early flight to Bologna so checked out at 7am.

I thought this view of the skyline from the Island airport was pretty nice (I flew Porter to Boston)

How the HR Boston Harbor displays their artwork LOL - think it would've hurt if it had hit me

I thought the first class seat on BA would've been bigger; it was very comfy though! Wouldn't pay to upgrade on a day flight again

The BA flight to Bologna was uneventful. I didn't book my train ticket from Bologna-->Firenze because I wasn't sure if we'd land on time and I didn't want to be stressed trying to change my ticket at the last minute. I took the monorail from the airport to the central train station and booked a ticket from B-->F while I was on the monorail. My train to Florence left 7 mins after the monorail arrived, so I had to book it to get down 4 floors, see which track I was on and get myself there. Made it with a minute to spare, but the train was delayed 10 minutes, so I didn't have to rush after all! Train to Firenze is only 40 minutes, super easy!

There is something magical about Florence -- it is my favorite city in the world and I will keep going back as often as I can. It seems to get more and more crowded each year, but I try to steer clear of the tourist areas as much as possible.

I had booked the Hotel Lungarno for 480k HH points before the massive devaluation. The hotel was amazing and I would def recommend it. My room wasn't ready when I arrived around 11:30am, so I checked in and left my bags with the concierge. When I got back to the hotel later in the afternoon I was blown away by the size of my room. I had read online that the base rooms are tiny, which I am fine with, but my room was huge! The bathroom was massive and I had a walk-in closet and beverage station! The staff were all wonderful -- friendly and helpful. The only things that would stop me from staying again are the cost (over $1k / night!) and the location wasn't my favorite (1 mile from the train station); I'd rather stay at the less expensive Hotel Milu whose location I prefer, but that's subjective (a lot of people prefer the Oltrarno area of Florence). At turn down Housekeeping left travel size tubes of Ferragamo face and eye cream!

My divine view from my brekkie table 4/5 mornings -- for some reason 1 or both of the only outside tables were available all but 1 day!
