I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Just reworked some hotel bookings to free up just enough points for a fall weekend in VT. Noticed the kids had a random Friday off so of course we have to go somewhere right?

In related news I need more hotel points lol. Finishing my citi AA biz now and then need to think what to do next.

Yes, I did like the ease of getting to several locations without packing/unpacking and me having to figure out and deal with transportation. I liked cruising more than I expected.

Greenland is on my list. I met 2 ladies at the airport who did a similar cruise (Greenland & Iceland). They got to see glaciers calving. Who did you cruise with?
Viking-it was my 3rd cruise with them -I've done Australia/NZ and the Adriatic as well. I'm not a fan of casinos and getting too old/grumpy for DCL, although we have the Panama Canal scheduled with them next year. Unfortunately they don't have single rooms or I'd sail them without DH all the time...so perhaps it's a good thing they don't!:rotfl:

For the Aspire hotel credit, I cannot prepay right? I need to pay for the stay at the hotel for the night itself to count?

Eta- and they got rid of the FNC right? Its just the $200 every 6 months?

For the Aspire resort credit, prepaid rates at US hotels doesn't work because the charge comes from corporate. Non-US hotels work if the charge comes directly from the hotel. It's also possible to ask the hotel to charge you in advance by sending a payment link.

Annual FNC still comes with the card.

Leaving for NY today to meet my mom. We sail out of Brooklyn tomorrow. First stop is Newport, then Boston, Portland, and a few stops in Nova Scotia. Used URs for the cruise and flight and my Hilton FNC for one night at the Hilton Brooklyn. I'm a little nervous sailing Princess after eight Disney cruises, but I'm sure we'll be good.

Princess is a good line. We've done this itinerary twice.
in Nova Scotia see the reverse tidal pools. In Portland go down the side streets for great food. Boston has some great spice shops and restaurants in the north end.
enjoy

I'm seeing on FT and other threads that Hertz is asking you to update your flight time to help with a more efficient checkout experience. What is happening, maybe intentionally or not, is that Hertz is changing their rates and considering it a change in their reservation.

We avoid both Budget and Hertz now. Sigh.

Still waiting on my CIU match SM, but DPs are out already.

Doesn't look good for CIC, probably due to tiered SUB and longer MSR. 2 no match DPs on r/churning, 3 on DoC.

2 match DPs for CIU, 1 was approved 45 days ago. DP for no match with approval 8/25 is weird. No match for 7/5 is not surprising, so cutoff might be around 2 months.

I have an upgrade offer on my Amex Biz Gold, 120K MR/$10K spend, but I also have 15K MR/$4K for adding an AU. I'm going to wait until the end of the month to upgrade so the MSR period can cover our trip to Italy. I'm going to add my parents at AUs, should I add them before taking the upgrade offer?

Were you successful doing this?

I'm kicking myself because I got the same offers, took the AU, navigated away because I wanted to check something, then the upgrade offer disappeared! Did chat, rep gave me a link, but the link didn't have the offer, so they told me to call. Called but they don't see the offer.

Ugh. Hopefully it comes back. But it's a lesson in how fast offers can disappear. And that taking an AU offer can apparently trigger an upgrade offer to disappear!

Le Narcisse Blanc is supposed to be a VERY nice hotel -- I'm sure you'll have an amazing stay! I like the Grand Hotel du Palais Royal, which is also very centrally located and just a 2 min walk from a tube station. I prefer to stay around the 1st, but many people prefer the left bank and 1 day I might relocate there for my trips!
Make sure that you visit rue du Faubourg to see the lights on the LV and Chanel stores as well as the 'snow' globe! Also if you like souffles, Le Souffle is nice and it books up fast (they never have walk-in tables); you can book easily online in advance. I've eaten there on 2 different trips, not sure if I will again, but def had memorable meals both times!
I booked dinner reservations for the night we get in to Paris. Thank you for the recommendation!

So should we be expecting one now or not until card renewal? Its been awhile since we got the points!

I have an AMAZING rate through Alamo for next year via Costco. Im definitely not updating anything if they ask because its less than $200 for a week with a different location return.

I hope you and your mom have a wonderful trip. We cruised on Princess in Alaska and are looking at booking a Panama Canal cruise with Princess. I liked some things better with Disney and some things better with Princess but we have enjoyed all of our cruises except for the one with Carnival.
