I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

I have a basic question about the SW Visa. I currently have the lowest tier one. I have had it for many years and have not gotten any new credit cards in the last 2 years. I was under the impression I had to cancel and then not get a new one for 2 years to get another bonus. But in my research, it appears I could cancel it then apply for a new one after 30 days and get the sign on bonus? Am I correct? Would I have to get the next tier of card? That would be fine. I'm just trying to figure this out.

Thanks. It’s a long flight 7 hrs and I know I’ll have to get up (maybe more than once). So I think I want easy aisle access. It is daytime coming from Europe to US. I only have one experience with that and I couldn’t really sleep.

Thanks. My layover is 4 hours. It is in biz; they only gave me the option to choose a seat in the first 4 rows (Airbus 320 from Rome to LHR). I think I’ll just wait.
Not sure about the exact plane you'll be on, but a lot of the inter-EU/UK flights have biz class seats in a 3x3 layout, except the middle seat is blocked off. You'll be fine to wait until the 24 hour window to book since there isn't a bad seat in those configurations.

Yes you can cancel your current SW card, wait 31 days then reapply for whichever personal card works best for you. If you have a P2 with a SW card make sure to use their support link so they get the 20k RR points

Are these the only cards in the US that transfer to AA?

LAX
There is also a Barclay Aviator card that earns AA miles. This card will be phased out in 2026 since Citi will be the only issuer for AA.

There are other Citi Thank You point earning cards like the Double Cash for example and while don't transfer directly to AA, the points can be transferred to a Citi Strata Premier or Elite card (or old the Prestige) and then they become transferrable to AA from that account. However, the the points that were initially transferred to the Strata or Prestige card will expire in 90 days.. Therefore, it is wise to keep them in their respective accounts until you are ready to do an airline transfer with them. Once they are converted to AA miles then they are subject to AA miles expiration policies.

Another indirect way to get AA miles from credit card points would be Amex MR points or Chase UR points transferred to Marriott. Then the Marriott points can be transferred to AA at a 3:1 ratio with a 5,000 bonus for every 60k transferred. So 60k Marriott points will get you 25k AA miles.

Hope that helps :flower3:

I want to get it just to transfer to AA! I'm wondering how long the 100K will last, though, because I'm at 4/24 until Oct and I was planning to get a SW card in Sep to try for a CP.

Seems like Chase is loosening up on approvals. DW was approved for an Ink Cash last month and I was just approved for an Ink Premier after we were both denied a couple of times. DW only had 2 open business cards and I had 3.

I did get a call right after applying from the fraud center but was approved on the call. Hope this continues.

not for me  I went from feeling like the favored child to the unwanted leftovers pretty fast:rotfl2:

looking for dp on Citi app 'rules'...
I was approved yesterday for the premium elite card with the hight AF. I have an 800+ credit score. Not sure exact number. I'm was 7\24. I think around 7 inquiries. I just got Citi AA platinum card 2 months ago.

I have a lot of credit with citI. I did not think they would approve me. I tried to cancel a couple of my other cards, but they offered me some good retention offers. I remember cancelling Citi cards before and never having to talk to a rep. I was really getting worked over with a hard sell to to keep the cards. Anyway I caved and kept them. I went for it anyway and got approved with a low 5k limit.

I think Citi likes me because I took a couple of flex loans in the past for home improvements. Approvals do seem to be all over the place.

I also got approved for the Delta gold card 100k offer that has no life time language. It's been a few years since Amex has given me a bonus. Yesterday was a good day.

Can I ask where you found that link for the Delta card? I need Delta miles!
