Which Smart Watch?

I have been running with an apple watch for awhile now, but when I do the races, I can hear people's watches beep, and they start to walk. It got me thinking, before Marathon weekend, maybe I should change my watch. I would love something that would alert me most importantly if my heart rate gets too high, but also if I decide to do run/walk for certain distances.
Which watch do you have and would you recommend it?

I have run/walk alerts on my Garmin Forerunner. It can also set heartbeat alerts.

I know a lot of people run with Apple watches, so that might be able to give alerts as well.

If you want something just for run/walk, look into a Gymboss timer! That's what most Galloway runners use.

I have a Garmin Forerunner 255 which replaced a 245 whose battery bit the dust. Really easy to set up alerts.

I have a Garmin Instinct 2 that I bought for the extra long battery life in gps mode. However, depending on the Garmin, features vary widely. It’s not like an apple where you have an extension of your phone apps and the watches all have similar features depending on what apps you install. I would definitely recommend doing your research…I watched a lot of YouTube videos and read articles in various runner magazines before I settled on what I needed for the type of racing I do (Instinct is very analog in the interest of battery life and affordability, for instance….)

I love my Garmin…BTW….and most of the people I run with have one. Coros is another big name in running watches…but I haven’t used one of those before.
