I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

I believe so. I think some people cash it out through the casino (it’s not technically allowed but it seems like it’s possible).

I cashed ours out through the casino last time I was on Princess (last summer) with no problems. This spring we were on Carnival and I did that. I had $100 OBC and I loaded it on my card and played about $5 or so on the slots. The lady at the cashiers window asked me if I loaded on my card just to cash out. I told her that I had just run out of time to play, so she gave me the cash. This makes me think they are definitely watching now.

This fall we have a $500 Princess OBC and I am planning on using it for excursions (which I usually book privately), but I don't want to run into any issues and lose out entirely.

altitude connect...just got one (have to branch out a little I guess) what's the velocity on these brand? I love the benefits but the MSR is so low for what I need ( )
I'm also looking at this card because: 1) we need to branch out from Chase for a bit, 2) I could use the included 4 PP visits coming up (if not domestically at JFK, then in Asia airports), and 3) I like 6 months for an MSR, gives me flexibility to get other cards during the time period if something catches our eye.

The bonus of 60k isn't bad I guess, but we got 75k on the Triple Cash. Does the Altitude Connect ever go higher than 60k?

Also, DH got the Triple Cash in December 2024, with a low CL and no prior USB relationship. Odds of being approved for another biz card?

Pretty sure I got the Triple Cash and Alt Connect both at 75,000K at one time. I have gotten these both a few times for myself and DH. Nice to have something between Chase and AMEX (who rarely likes me...)

Check you CIC offers: all three of our household CICs have 5% back at Staples up to $5 valid through 7/28. Should overlap fee free Visa starting on 7/20, so you can grab an extra $5 per card with the offer.

(I know these are targeted but, considering we got it on 100% of our CICs, I'm thinking this is a pretty wide offer.)
Thank You!

60k on biz? I just did the personal.... didn't even realize it had the pp visits...those might come in handy (but I usually have the worst luck and always waitlisted)

I think I was being overly cautious about a 'biz' on a new company.... next round

I looked at the personal... it's only 20k bonus right? I do see the personal has the same PP visits (4), and it includes the 5GB intl data plan (which I think is helpful for a lot of us that use Ubigi or other eSIMs when traveling).

p2 got an email offer for the $900 Chase checking savings bonus. I see it's one bonus every 24 months. It appears we closed our accounts in April of 2023, does that mean we can get the bonuses again?

So... somehow we didn't think this one through. I need your help.

We booked a VRBO for Kauai for the next few weeks. Check out is at 10a. We are traveling with an 11 month old (nuff said), and our flight isn't until 7pm. I looked into "room" resort day passes, and they're all booked up for our last day in Kauai.

My thoughts are to book a hotel for the night that we leave and the night before and have my adult kids go stay there the night before, and enjoy the pool and amenities. And then on the day of check out we'll clean up our VRBO, and head to them and hang out there (with our luggage so it doesn't get stolen) with them until we all leave for the airport.

Is that the right answer?

If it is, should I transfer UR's or MR's to Marriot and stay at the Sheraton Coconut Resort? Should I transfer UR's and stay at the Grand Hyatt? Should I transfer UR's and stay at Kauai Beach Resort (husband has stayed there before and enjoyed the pool area)? Honestly, I'd like to spend as little cash and points as possible. Open to alllll suggestions.

Edited to add that I don't have any co-branded hotel cc's.

If the VRBO is available for 1 more day, that might be the easier and cheaper option.

We've stayed at the Grand Hyatt Kauai before. It's very nice. But it's a Category 8 now and will cost you 35/40/45k depending on your dates. The Marriott options you'll have to check the rates for your dates, but probably 60k+. There's a UR transfer bonus now of 50%, so 60k Marriott will cost 40k UR.

Thanks for your response. The VRBO isn’t available-that was my first thought. And yes, I saw the Chase>Marriott bonus!

I’m hoping someone here can think outside the box for me because a hotel for two nights is all that I can think to do. 🫣

I came across this if your VRBO qualifies. Link

With a 7 pm flight, you'll need to get going to return your rental car around 4 pm, so it's really only 6 hours. The 2 day hotel option seems like a lot of points to spend.

^This is definitely outside the box and something that I didn’t know about. Unfortunately our VRBO isn’t on the list. Thank you so much for your continued thinking outside the box for me!

London in the heat is no joke. It’s honestly been kind of miserable. Hardly any AC anywhere so it’s been very hard to cool off. When you buy drinks they are rarely cold. Ds threw up yesterday all over the uber we were in and right now is feeling sick again. I’m excited to get home

Talk to me about AmEx MSR.

My understanding is they are more sensitive to manufactured spend, so doing, say, the fee-free Visa at Staples is a bad call. But, if I'm buying groceries and a GC together (Shoprite is running their bonus this coming week, I have a BJs coupon that I want to top off with GCs) then I should be OK in those cases, correct? We'll have enough natural spend either way, I just don't know if I should go out of my way to NOT use the card in these cases.

And is it correct that they claw back so I need to watch returns or refunds closely to ensure I stay over the spend even if things come back onto the card?

Anything else I should watch our for as a Chase gal who is just dipping her toe into the other side?

Hubby has to fly Delta for work, so, despite them not being the best carrier from our local airport, we're getting a card to better utilize the points and status that he's earning.

Yep global warming is having a large effect on all of Europe...most of the places weren't designed for the kind of heat that is now becoming the summer standard over there. You have to make sure you get a hotel with a/c as many do not have it. We were in London and Paris last summer and it was hot but had hotels with a/c and absolutely loved both cities....the heat is nowhere near as bad as Florida, its more like a California heat which is definitely bearable.

Our hotel has AC so we’ve been taking 2-3 hour breaks each day to cool off. The difference from Florida is that every museum and indoor place is hot so there really is no chance to cool down here. The tube is very warm and the uber boat we took today had no AC or air flow

I just checked a family member’s IHG card for a bonus on that mybonus link and it took me to a page that looked like it got an offer but the page was blank. When I checked the card a second time it said this card is already enrolled in this offer so I have no idea what the offer is. Anybody get an offer on their IHG card that can tell me what it is?

ETA just got the same thing on a Southwest card. I’m enrolled but ????
