I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

noooooooo I was afraid of that! Yours is the only story I'd heard of this happening and now he's the 2nd :mad:
It happened to my DH too. We also had to just wait for the card. Online it would not allow me to use his current account so I set up a separate one. I haven't had DH call yet, but probably will to hopefully get the accounts combined. If they can't / won't combine them, I hope they can at least link to be able to share the points. His main account has a CSR, so like to get the higher redemption rate and be able to transfer points. He hasn't applied for another card since then, so not sure what will happen when he does.
 
Just applied and was approved for the CSP using DH's referral from his CSR. Any idea how long CSP cards take to show up. Debating whether to request it to expedited or not. No huge hurry, but always like to get new cards to start working on them!

Medical does not cover outside US so we always get Medical when traveling by Cruise or Internationally. (and was glad I had it when DS broke is hand on the cruise and had to be seen at Hospital in Cozumel. Got everything paid for on the ship and at the hospital).

We are flying the day before but I think the Trip Insurance from Chase would cover missed connections. I will make sure when booking Flights to use CSR for at least part of it.

As far as I can tell, CSR would only cover missed connection for severe weather and strike.
 

I'm not liking the changes to the Amex Biz Plat! Anybody here do buying groups? According to FM, that's going to be the one way to make the changes beneficial for CC holders that don't already spend $5K at Dell organically...

Yea it sucks. I was saying how I loved my Play and it was worth AF. Well the Hilton credit didnt work for me last quarter due to no GC, and who knows if those will ever come back. Now with a not great Dell credit option is even less valuable.

Do you live in a no sales tax state? You'd need to have the item shipped to you first. We shipped a gift to DH's nephew before and after that all our orders would be canceled. It took so many phone calls to finally get it unblocked.

When DH got the biz plat again, the thought that went through my mind was UGH Dell, not yay "free" money lol.

No, I'm in NC. But I have had stuff shipped to family members in FL before without issue to use up Dell credits. But I have heard what you mentioned--Dell is quite sensitive. Ugh Dell indeed.

It's tough because we've been getting nice targeted offers for new biz cards through our Biz Plat cards; last year we took advantage of two 75K Blue Biz offers, for instance. So I don't want to make Amex mad, but the deficit between the AF and the coupon book value is getting larger. I'll just hope we get good retentions...

If it wasn't for Clear I wouldn't be singing high praises for the card with its AF. I love Clear/Precheck so much I don't think I can ever travel without it again.
 
Iberia changed our flights, now we have a 9 hour layover in Madrid. There are plenty of earlier flights we can take, I booked through BA. Is BA easy to work with on picking a different flight due to airline schedule changes?

SO he called yesterday- spoke to a rep who told him the app was fine, and supposedly expedited the new card- but he couldn't attach it to his current acct without the actual numbers in hand,so he's gonna wait till it arrives to try. Are you saying that you tried to link it up,and it wouldn't let you? My ds seems to like calling in for assistance (lol) so maybe he can try calling in if it doesn't work on his own acct? This all seems so silly and random. Maybe bc he clicked thru the link/application on a different computer than his usual phone?
 
question about Cap1 points vs UR....I know all about UR, how to earn/burn them- new to Cap1 (basic venture cc) and I've checked out the portal a few times, which seems similiar to UR.... how do you all view them vs. each other? Ease of getting more cap1? (ur pretty simple) Which do you prefer? Not sure what best use of them might be....

Since I have a stash of UR points, it's much easier for me to use them. I have transferred URs to Singapore Air, KLM and Hyatt as well as booked hotel stays with them.

With Cap1 I've transferred points to Singapore Air. Their hotel partners are not (currently) useful to me. For this reason I find them more restrictive. If they were to add Hyatt as a transfer partner I would find their points a lot more useful.

For those looking to get max value out of FB, I've found that if you book flights within the next 2 weeks the points are around half of what they are to book almost a year out. So I'll book a backup flight next spring (Paris / Amsterdam again!) with AP points, then cancel at the 2 week window so I can fly home with either AF or KLM.

when the new card arrived, I went to the activation link and it has an option to sign in and verify or create a new account (if I'm remembering correctly). I signed into his account and it didn't recognize that there were any new cards to activate. The only way I could do anything was by creating a new account.

Since then, I haven't had him do anything with it. If your DS calls, let me know if he's able to link the two accounts. DH will call, but needs to be "coached" 😂

Once again, this two profiles has worked in my favor. p2 just got a CIP on 3/12 (and much to my horror the spend will be met tomorrow!!!!!!! WTH), that we managed to get on his original profile. But we just apped for the CSP and it indeed went to his 2nd profile, for instant approval.
I should probably cash out all the UR's on his 2nd profile, in case they somehow figure out what they are doing over there.

Yeah, I would transfer those to Hyatt or somewhere just in case. But lucky you!
 
So I have a friend going with me for award travel. And I have some questions
1, for some reason, he's not able to access all the Chase UR he's been accumulating with his DW how does he have access to them as an authorized user? When he called they told him to go into a branch, I have ours set up like this but its been so long I cant remember how we did this to begin with.

edited part 2 doesn't matter I had him restart his computer and it worked.

Just got the dreaded email about a new letter from Chase after a new business card app. But instead of a denial, it says they are suspecting fraud and I need to call in to verify. I just hate putting more eyes on my “business” accounts. Only have 2 cards open now, so thought this would get auto approved but no such luck. Fingers crossed.
