I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 & 2024 (see first page for add'l details)

I just cancelled my OG CIU card that I opened in 2021. I paid off the balance. I want to try for another CIU. The credit limits on my 2 CIC's and 1 other CIU are $5k. Can I apply tomorrow? I was denied CIU #3 on 5/14. My reasons were: too many accts or too much credit (I've since close out $7k in business credit lines), new business card open (my last CIU was 11/23), low usage (my other accounts all get spend) and credit to income is enough (again I've dropped $7k in my limits). Should I lower my credit limits on my CIC cards? Should I close one of my CIC cards? I never use the 5x limit to truly need 2.

I just need a new cards ASAP! I've needed one truly since April. I've been holding off on a few medical bills (but they've also billed me wrong, LOL).

So can I apply tomorrow w/ $15k in business credit limits? My personal is $31.5k w/ chase. I make about $100k. I'm willing to close another CIC if I need to. HELP!

Now back to reading all the pages I've missed.
Since you don’t need 2 CICs for the 5x…I would either close one or reduce the CLs on all the business cards to 2k or 3k

Looks like they dropped the CSP SUB back down to 60K. DOC says the rumor is the 85K branch offer is slated to end June 22. My DB was planning to apply in July because he got a CIU in mid April. Do you think he should go and try at the branch for the 85K? I am worried the branch offer will get pulled early. I also read on one site that the branch should be good till the end of the month but Doc says some front line managers have said June 22nd.

For DB, the CIU was his first Chase card so the CSP would be his first personal Chase. If he went in tomorrow it would be a couple days shy of 2 months since the CIU app

For the extra 25k URs, I would definitely try to go on or before June 21st. I've found that the branch applications are the smoothest.

Can someone bring me up to speed on Priority Pass membership? I have both the CSR and AmEx plat and I think one or both include PP but I have dropped the ball as far as what I need to do.

I just did mine through CSR- you have to find the right section in your benefits list and click activate. That triggers a physical card being sent, but if you click “more” and then “airport lounges” in the Chase app you can get a QR code to use sooner. That takes 6 days to load, and no calling will help speed it up, so start now if you have an upcoming trip. The rep I talked to who couldn’t pull up a membership at 3 days post-activation said you can charge one PP visit that’s eligible for reimbursement if your number isn’t ready, just wait for it to post and call them.

So on the Chase Online Application (which I assume is the same as the Branch App,) it asks for Employment Status. Choices are Employed, Self-employed, Unemployed, and Other. Re Other, there is no fill-in-the-blank for more detail. What should homemakers select? It asks for household income and spouse is employed, so do you select Employed? I know from the previous Cap1 discussion, you should not select Unemployed. If you do a bit of online selling/"business" and have a Chase CIU, should you select Self-employed? Or should you select Other? I mean you don't want a bunch of questions about your tiny side-business when you're just trying to get a personal card.

Their total household income is easily high enough to support the card but I want to make it very smooth for a somewhat reluctant applicant, lol.

Pick other. A homemaker is neither employed or unemployed. If you pick employed or self employed they could ask for docs supporting that which you wouldn't have.

Same would be if retired since that's not an option.

I would hope that with GE that should be enough time. Safe travels.
Though not in SFO, with GE and PreCheck we have cleared customs in 10-15 minutes and gotten to our new gate in less than 30 minutes. Hopefully you'll be ok.
I've never been thru customs before...upcoming int. trip we land in SFO then take another flight to Fiji- how does GE work with customs? I'm considering just a carryon suitcase plus a personal, do you go thru customs first and then security?

I have a question on the Amex PP credits (they gave me 10 visits) if I wanted to visit a lounge with 6 friends, can I use all those credits at once? (I also have regular pp thru CSR but I'm traveling with a group soon)

It's been quick for us at SFO every time (now I'm going to jinx myself :rotfl: ) You don't go through customs on the way out of the country, just upon return. As for security, you may have to go through security again depending on which terminal you are flying into and which you are flying out of.

thank you! I'm starting to stress...never been international before! I'm not even sure what vitamins I'm allowed to take with,or if I can use smaller container (not labeled ones) etc

What's a Citi card that doesn't have a welcome bonus that DH can PC his AA card to? Want to get the AF back but not make Citi angry
