It really sounds like they closed that compromised card and issued her a new one, so she should be fine. You could always call and check, but I think the points should be there.
Thanks! She did end up calling and they said her points are there and will stay with the new card. Phew!
Now I have to get myself out of the doghouse for flipping out about it.

Was approved for one of the Chase Ink Business credit cards last week. How soon can I apply for one of the other ones?
The general approval rules for Chase are 1/30 for biz, 2/30 for personal. One application within 30 days for biz, two applications within 30 days for personal. So you'd need to wait at least 30 days from the application date last week for another biz card. If you wanted a personal then you could apply now.

Why don't people apply for biz cards every 30 days? That's where the 3 month guideline comes in. If your velocity is too high you run the risk of a shutdown from Chase, usually from bust-out risk. Keeping 3 months between applications of either kind is the recommended pacing to stay under the radar. That said, exceptions are justified just keep in mind your overall velocity. If you get a few close together, take a longer break to average out the load.

Ugh - my mother has a CFU with about $4k worth of URs. I helped her get them over the last couple years to use for a family trip (that keeps getting pushed out).
Well today there were fraudulent charges on the card and she called chase - she told me she “cancelled” the card. Which I freaked over! Then she told me they were sending her a new card. If that’s the case her URs should be fine, right? Please say they’re safe!

Thanks! She did end up calling and they said her points are there and will stay with the new card. Phew!
Now I have to get myself out of the doghouse for flipping out about it.
What is with the moms? Lol. My mom did something similar. She's texting me there was fraud on her card so she cancelled it. She kept saying canceled then she said "They are sending me a new one". I'm like that's not canceled 🤦‍♀️ Fortunately I have her login and password, looked and they already had a new number listed for her card and all points there (no where near what you mom has). I used her account to SM asking them to expedite. She was shocked when it showed up 48 hours later. But I reset the bills she had auto paying with the card so all is good. Glad your mom's worked out too.

anyone hear any rumblings about a hulu deal this year? The last two years have been awesome BF deals.... I'll be sad to say goodbye if no offers come up

Yikes. Nightmare. I don't keep a checking acct linked to paypal anymore. This morning I needed to transfer my rakuten payment to my checking acct. I added it, transferred the money, and deleted it.
(I tried to spend the money directly from paypal, but it charged my CFF instead. That is fine for the 5x bonus but I wanted to drain PP.) As soon as I meet the spend on my CFF I am deleting that from PP as well. Paypal getting hacked is one of my fears.

I have the same fear with Venmo, but need to transfer money from there often so I keep a different checking acct which rarely has more than a few dollars in it linked to Venmo.
Yeah...this has scared me off using PP a lot for many years... I've always used a special acct at my online bank for PP use ,and I have a cc linked of course. I never keep a PP balance, and I keep no $ in the bank acct I use for PP either,I immediately transfer it out....I've always had thePP acct b/c I used to have to have it for Ebay selling....

When is the best time to use Chase Explorer United miles for a Disney trip - IAH to MCO (May 30ish - June 6ish)? I have never used miles for air travel before.

At the moment, I can get a 7 am flight on Tuesday, 5/30 to MCO and return Tuesday, 6/2 at 7pm for 15K per flight.

I am also hoping for an onsite discount, which wouldn't be released until who knows when, if at all. Should a discount become available, it is a juggling game trying to get dates to work.

Any thoughts/advice?

So yesterday I sold off my dad's trailer. Which means I've handled all the "big" things. I still have some random furniture (my grandparents, so MCM or "old"), but with his car and trailer sold, we've basically taken care of the biggest things. It was bittersweet as I still haven't processed everything :( Waiting on his life insurance to be disbursed and STILL waiting on medical records so I can finish his critical care claim I filed back in September.

With that said, I've got to figure out what's a smart way of "investing" this money. I did $30k in iBonds in October ($10k for me, my 17yo and my 13yo). My 17yo still has $13k in her account from my dad. I'm wondering if just opening new bank accounts (and bank bonuses) is the best plan for now. It looks like most CDs would give her the same return as new bank bonuses. Then I need to figure out what to do w/ the money I have as well. So far I've taken $20k and put that into iBonds. I guess short term I'll do bank bonuses myself as well. I'd like to earn as much as I can with essentially no risk, LOL. It's still my safety net, it's just my safety net got a lot more padding, LOL.

Hmmm, maybe I'll check this out. Do you have to buy 2 to save? I've debated getting the carry-on since I'm now doing carry on only most of the time w/ my BF.

Question #2
Disney hotel discounts seem to now be contingent/linked to D+ or the Disney cc. I used the D+ discount last summer. I hope to get a discount on a Disney hotel, should one become available, for next summer.

I only have one cc from Chase (United Explorer) that I just got in July of 2022. I am wondering if I should get a Disney card in case a discount is offerred only for card holders.

My question is: will this mess up my chance to get other Chase cards prior to July of 2024? I think you guys mentioned a max amount of new Chase cards or another issue.

TIA

I have no advice, but just wanted to send you a virtual hug! I have lost my DH and my Dad, it can be so hard.

Just coming here to ask, who has and loves their airpods? I'm thinking about finally jumping on the bandwagon and ditching my big traditional beats. The main reason is for work from home, I have to be in meetings and on calls a lot and so I'd use the bluetooth from my computer. I don't like Apple headphones in general because they always fall out of my ears, so i'm looking at the Pros. Anyone want to chime in on the pros/cons? Looks like Target and Staples will have them for $199 starting tomorrow, and I could use my new CIC for 5x getting them from Staples (and help to meet MSR).

TBH, hop on DHgate and get the knock offs! They come in apple packing, sync up just like my real airpods, and to me work great. For $30, they can't be beat! I've bought the pros and the regular off DHgate. My son lost his real ones, and I replaced them w/ the DHgate dups and he didn't even know. Then I decided to give the pros a whirl and all good! Find a seller with LOTS of sales and you'll be good!

I have the first gen pros and normal Airpods. The plastic ones fit my ears fine but if they don't for you the pros I would think would be better. They come with 4 different size silicon tips. If the ones that come with the pros don't work for you you can find other third party options for tips. If you have a Chase UR card through 11/30 your UR points get a bonus for Apple products. From what I can see the CIP is 25% so the Airpod Pro 2 would be 19,920 points, CSP is 25% which is 19,920 points, CSR is 50% which is 16,600 points, and the CFF is 10% which is 22,636 points.

I have both the regular which didn't fit my ears well (now handed down to DD) and the (original) Pros which I like comfort-wise a lot more. I've been wearing my AirPods a lot more for walks, listening to podcasts. If I happen to get a phone call while listening to something else, then I just touch the call button on my Apple Watch or iPhone to pick it up and just talk like usual. On the airplane in noise-canceling mode, I can watch movies or listen to music, and the engine roar is so much more muted. Definitely not as good as over the ear models, but for something I can just throw in my pocket it's great. I like to watch TV sometimes while in the kitchen, so I recently figured out how to use my Roku app on my iPhone paired to my AirPods so that I can hear the TV clearly over the various sounds from the kitchen (faucet on, sizzling food, etc). I don't wear them all the time, but when I do they definitely enhance my experience at the moment.

We ended up with Atlanta and Nashville. Bought 3rd level in Atlanta since I was 20K in line. Was able to grab 2 floor seats in Nashville since I was only 9K in line. Not the best floor seats, but the girls were estastic.

I booked hotels as soon as they announced the dates knowing that I can always cancel them later. It was a great use of a FN from Hilton since the hotel in Nashville is over $1K a night!! Glad you were able to find a room for her.

Hearing the reports from the presale today makes me sad for all those fans. Makes me wonder how many tickets will be sold on Friday.

On a different note, who is a reputable company for buying/selling DVC contracts?
The timeshare Store

I love my pros for work and grad school (online). Unfortunately, I've washed them, my dog chewed on one, etc. But I keep replacing them because I like using them on Zoom for work (wfh 3/per week). When $200 earpods became a necessity for me I'm not sure, but they are.
