Wanted to share my and dd’s amazing 1 bedroom suite at the lovely Muir Halifax last night that cost me nothing (but cost dh his $95.00 AF on the bonblah cc — I used the FNC + 9k pts — the suite would have been $900.00 / night). I had to do a bit of suite talking to get the upgrade because they usually only upgrade ”1 category”, which would’ve been at most a junior suite. We had a jr. suite last time and while lovely, it was rather dark. The hotel said they would be pleased to upgrade us to the Shannon 1 bedroom suite for our stay this time! Yay! We really enjoyed it! The platinum breakfast is $36.00 pp and it is plenty for a full breakfast for both of us and the food is AMAZING at the on-site restaurant! Looking forward to our stay in a month for dd’s final.
"suite talking" I love that, lol. That's going in my vocabulary. I'd also like "house Range Rover" in my vocab.

Double nightmare. I hope you can figure this out. Hopefully they no longer have access to your laptop.

So was money taken from your checking? Or did you just get a bogus invoice to bait you into giving more info?
Thankfully, the latter. And it was my work laptop which I've totally reset until they can look at it. Thankfully it's a small company and I know our IT people, but I know they are rolling their eyes.

My lesson was if you get a fake invoice via paypal, cancel it and ignore it. I honestly was so worried about making sure I wasn't going to be charged $1700, I didn't realize the number I thought was Paypal was on the invoice, not on Paypal's website. I swear this people are so awful.

Chase offer on my hyatt and hyatt biz, 20% off at Kohls up to $20 back. Goos til 12/2 I think.

Hoping they still have 3rd party gc. I've bought before but don't remember seeing them the last couple of times I was there. Anyone know?

I got an email from paypal that I had a $1699.99 invoice. Someone hacked my PayPal account, bought an iPhone 14 and my c1 checking account was debited. PayPal cs is a nightmare.
Sorry you’re going through this!

I’ve gotten emails like that before. DO NOT click through the email. It’s likely phishing. I go to my account separately. There has never been an “invoice” there.

Watch it in his account. If the card doesn’t show up, it may have gotten returned to Chase. I had the same issue with last CIU. It was 10 days and suddenly his account showed as closed. I messaged to ask why it closed and they said the card was returned to Chase and I need to give them
the correct address. Of course it was the same address as the other 8 Chase cards already in the account so they resent it.
Thanks - we did receive the card yesterday and I logged in the verify. It said the verification was down at the time. I tried again this morning and it said all of my cards have been verified, so I guess we're good to go. I haven't tried using the card yet, but I will try to tonight just to test it out.

Third time was the charm! Tomorrow was the last day for me to get my annual fee back on my Amex Plat. No retention offers available the last two times I chatted with them, weeks ago. Tried again one last time and success! 4K spend, 55K MRs. 8-)
Is there a way to tell when when last got an upgrade offer? Last year my Plat annual fee posted on 12/15/21. I know I chatted with them prior to it posting and got a retention offer, but my chat only goes back through January 2022, so I can't see exactly when it was. If I remember, you can't inquire about a retention offer more often than every 12 months or something. I just don't want to do it too quickly.

does it come regular usps? will it show in informed delivery?
DH's card was sent regular and it did show up in informed delivery. He applied 11/9 and received the card 11/17

That's great! My Kohls does still offer a decent number of 3rd party gc. I can't remember what all they have, but our Kohls has an entire display with them.

Thanks I have it on one of my chase cards too

Ugh - my mother has a CFU with about $4k worth of URs. I helped her get them over the last couple years to use for a family trip (that keeps getting pushed out).
Well today there were fraudulent charges on the card and she called chase - she told me she “cancelled” the card. Which I freaked over! Then she told me they were sending her a new card. If that’s the case her URs should be fine, right? Please say they’re safe!

Remind me - is this just for Chase personal cards or biz as well? I may have a large HVAC purchase coming up in the near future and need to plan out some timing of applications.
It's chase cards in general regardless of personal or biz. So it could go biz, per, biz, per and it's recommended they are each 3 months after the one prior.

And tagging @MouseOfCards, yes 3 months is the general guidelines for Chase but it's not a hard and fast rule. Earlier this year I got a Chase personal card in Jan, and then a Chase biz card in February (about 6 weeks apart) but I hadn't applied for a Chase card since Nov 2020. I think your velocity with Chase (in addition to the 5/24 rule) makes a difference.

DH and I have the Kohl's offer on 2 personal and 2 biz cards each.

When checking my newest CIU I also had a grocery store offer for $5 back off a $5 purchase, thru 12/4.

We each have 2 biz cards and between us 10 personal cards, so far the grocery is only on one.

It really sounds like they closed that compromised card and issued her a new one, so she should be fine. You could always call and check, but I think the points should be there.
