I’d like to get the CFF with the 5% grocery deal.
Me too! I'm wondering when Friends will be able to help me out.
How long does it usually take for 'support' links to catch up to the public offer?

I told my son if he graduated with honors I would give him a 2 week all expense paid trip to anywhere in the world. Well he graduated and chose Japan. This will be his second trip but DH and I have been there several times. 2015 was our last fun filled vacation.

We typically fly Delta, DH has companion pass, I believe it's only good on domestic flights. Since we're flying out of DTW, I would like to have a long layover, like 24hrs to get a room & sleep prior to the long flight to Japan possibly in California (open to ideas).

If I apply for the CFF, will it hurt my chances of signing up for another CC in 2024? I'm not sure what CC I'm looking at, trying to get DH to apply for anything is tough but I have put my foot down on the CFF.

I’d like to get the CFF with the 5% grocery deal. I’ve got a CFF, but I got it from downgrading a CSP. Would I be eligible for the SUB on a CFF, since technically I’ve never had a CFF SUB? Or should I cancel my existing CFF first?

You can't apply for the card while holding the same card. So you'll need to PC out of it and wait 4 days. Or cancel and wait 30.

How long does it usually take for 'support' links to catch up to the public offer? I see a new offer for Marriott Boundless of 100K points for $3K MSR. I would much prefer that over 3 free nights. But the support link I can generate for P2 still has the 3 free nights.

The supports for the Chase Marriott cards tend not to change to match the elevated offers, unfortunately.

You would need to PC the CFF to another card, then wait 4 days before applying for new CFF with the bonus ….if you cancel the CFF the wait to apply is 31 days

There are higher SUBs out there. If the goal is URs, do you qualify for a Sapphire (CSP and/or CSR)? Would you do a business card (CIU or CIC)?

Applying for a card now wouldn't affect getting another card in 2024, unless this card puts you at 5/24. Usual rule of thumb for Chase is 3 months in between cards.

This is an aside, but there may be a direct flight to NRT from DTW on Delta. I know I’ve flown that leg connecting elsewhere in Asia. And yes the companion fare is domestic only if you mean the AMEX DL program. (I think it might be CONUS only but don’t quote me.)

I've had the card ~10 years both platinum and reserve its only the contiguous 48 difference is coach or first.

If you pull it off, we must see a picture!!!

I get it, my ds decided to go to senior prom (he was awkward and had few to no friends) about a week before hand. That was fun.
Thanks! Absolutely! I love a good challenge. I found one online at Men’s Wearhouse and paid for the rush delivery. I ordered a back-up in black from Kohl’s just in case. He only has a navy suit that will be plan C.

Thanks for the info. Follow up question - at first the application website to check your status was working, but now it's saying they don't have a record of my application. Is this normal? Thank you!

This happened to me and then soon after someone called from Delaware about the app. I was thinking maybe someone pulled the file to work on and that's why it's not found (but who knows lol).

I can certainly appreciate this. Youngest DD decided on Prom exactly one week before also. Dress, shoes, hair and makeup and transportation as they were doing a Potomac River Cruise for prom night. A few girls had decided to go together last minute.

Then a school friend who was a boy got in the picture and said he would like to take her.

It all worked out but it wasn't easy. They had a great time and are still good friends. His mother was very happy that he didn't sit at home that night also! She must have taken a thousand pictures!

Congrats to your son graduating with honors! You must be one proud Mom!

Not going to hurt to get the CFF for other cards in 2024 unless you've just recently gotten a lot of cards.

Too bad about DH. It's really nice to have a player 2 who can also get cards and help get more points! I've been able to get my younger DD to get a couple of cards but she is also resistant. Trying to get her to change out one of her cards for a good bonus and better earning right now.

AU questions... my older son (now 18) is still an AU on my Freedom card. We haven't gotten around to applying him for the Discover yet...

1- If he just dropped out of school do you think they'd still approve him for the Discover? He is employed.

2- If he is unable to get his own card, but I also need to make my younger son (almost 16) an AU on a card, how do you recommend I handle it? I need to keep the charges split up between the two boys. I also have a CSR, multiple CICs, and am Amex BBP. Oh and a Venture X.

I don't think they will know he dropped out of school.

What does the almost 16 yo spend money on? Which card do you want to earn more points on?

Older son working and living at home. Get him his discover or even maybe his own Freedom asap while he can claim household income as part of your household.

Then you can put your almost 16 yo on the Freedom. You can also do AU and use the card yourself to help build his credit.

If you do AU on the Amex it can have separate log in for the AU, although charges come to your account. The separate log in will only show the AU's charges. I'm not sure what happens with Chase as I don't have any AU's on my Chase cards.

Yes they have direct flights but it's too long for me to sit on a plane. I definitely want the long layover to stretch, relax and sleep in a hotel prior to flying to Japan. The days of being a spring chicken is long gone! Lol!

AMEX offer - $60 off $300 at Delta. Any creative ways to use this? Gift cards?
Delta’s made a change to their website and they now redirect gift card purchases to CashStar, there’s no longer a way to buy gift cards to lock in the discount from these Delta Amex Offers. Unless someone here has found a new link, please share!
