DD has the one Amex AU from my card since she was a teen. It's set up as a separate account. It gets it's own set of offers and can be added, even when duplicates of the original card. It also gets offers occasionally that the original card doesn't get.

Yeah, I missed the nuance of having a card vs an AU. Maybe we’ll start thinking about a real card for her. She will have a bit of earned income this year, but nothing steady.

Picked dd up at the airport last night (it was so crowded at 11:30). She finished Clear enrollment in ATL and said general and precheck lines were crazy. The puppy couldn't stop crying when she saw her.

So is anyone else having issues with this quarters 5% bonus on the freedom? I was under the assumption it was Walmart and PayPal, meaning that Walmart was the physical stores... Charge made on 10/4 and posted 10/5 as "WM Supercenter" and only shows up as 1x. Is it just online Walmart? Not sure Walmart has any non-Supercenter locations around here anymore.

Info on Amex Platinum that I didn't know (but may be common knowledge here?):

My Plat is one year old in Nov and they told me my AF would remain at $550 for another year before increasing to $695, yet I will have the new benefits. I felt like that was a pretty good deal. But I still ask about a retention offer and took 40k MRs for $3k spend in 3 months.

Just saw this available at Home Depot. I love holiday decorations and really want this!
I typically shop at Lowe’s since it’s close so not sure of how to save at Home Depot. Any tips to get a discounted there? Maybe redeem points for a discounted gift card, anything?

Are you in a state with Menards? If so, HD often has 11% off to compete. Find the offer on DOC or google it. You can cash in MR points for HD.

There may be better ways, but off the top of my head, you could buy the Happy GCs that have HD on them at a grocery when it’s a 5x quarter (possibly combining with grocery deals & fuel rewards)

ETA: Now I’m thinking Happy Cards might not have Home Depot on them anymore?

Just checked it out and I think they all have Lowe’s. I guess I’ll just have to pay with DD’s new gold card to help her MSR. Don’t see anything better yet.

Nope. I am in Ct where we have no goods stores close. No Menards, Kroger, Chick Fil A, Office Depot or anything else good everyone here mentions.



ETA: We do have Stop and Shop. I wonder they if have Home Depot. I still have 10x groceries and my Amex Plat for a few weeks and DH has 5% on his Chase Unlimited. Hopefully they have it.

In the past I have purchased WM GCs online and had it count for the quarterly category. Maybe you could try that if you plan to do more WM shopping.

You should not store your gift cards online, those accounts are easily hacked, and you won't get the funds back.
I use the site to combine my cards into large balance physical cards, then delete them from the website.

So making sure i get this straight. If you have a lot of 100 dollar cards consolidate them on that site
then delete immediately? combine them into 500? 1000? do you throw away the used cards after
consolidating or keep them for safe keeping? thx

Im having the same issue and been asking around. I bought a wreath and misc holiday stuff
and it coded as groceries because it was a supercenter i guess? There are no stand alone
walmarts near me. I'm now reading there is gift card fraud so weary of buying gift cards online
but might. *my offer just says Walmart also but now im assuming it was misprinted

What sucks is I have NOT ONE bill that takes paypal.

Just wondering if anyone knows how the Global Entry is going now? We are in the midwest and fly out of STL. DH has been approved, but needs his appointment. Last he checked, they were not doing them in STL and said appointment could be done at incoming airport from an international flight. Well, we're not flying internationally right now, so that's not an option. We will be going on a cruise at the end of this month and have to go through customs at the end of that. Do you know if that qualifies as an entry point to do the appointment?

If so, DH will be able to get his done, but I had applied a long time ago and mine expired, so I guess I'd have to get approved again. At this point, I'm sure I wouldn't get the initial approval for an appointment at the end of this month, but we are scheduled for a cruise in February, so might go ahead with application with intention of doing the appointment at that point.

I am thinking of just doing the TSA precheck since I know I can get that done locally and we have enough credit card offers to get it free even though it would be doubling up.

Finally, we also have "Clear" free through AmEx, but I'd much rather have the precheck, but wondered if anyone does both?

Since you've been approved before, I think you have good chances of the approval coming through very quickly.

Like you said, if you have credits to burn, TSA Precheck may also be the way to go (double up). Here in Milwaukee, appointments were plentiful. But that program can take a bit to approve for SOME people, as well.

Can anyone refresh me? Isn't there a generic link which will allow you to see more than 100 Amex offers? Checked DOC but can't seem to find it. I was hoping for a Staples $25 off on DH's card.
