I also see an AmEx offer for RCCL that I didn't see before, so it's new for me at least.

Royal Caribbean International
Spend $1,500 or more get $500 back. Expires 12/31/21. Can be one or more transactions.

Thank You!!! We owe the balance on a new cruise in about a month. This is GREAT!

There is also this RCCL offer on AmEx:

I got spend $1000 get $350 back.
I got the $500 off of $1500 on Plat and CS Plat!

Trying to decide which card to put it on. The Plat that’s about up for renewal right around the date the payment is due (to maybe help with a retention offer), or the CS Plat that’s my long-term keeper?

ETA: Wife got $500 off $1500 on Gold card

It’s a wrap! Christmas in the Caribbean is all booked! “Free” flights on SW to San Juan, Hyatt House City center for one night, 7 RCCL guaranteed suite followed by 2 nights at the Caribe Hilton (happy to hear other recommendations and how to Puggles.

Christmas cruise on the Explorer of the Seas in a suite was $3500- minus $325 OBBc minus $1200 in AmEx offers for $1975. Cashed out Citi DC to cover.

Now to hope I can get a dog sitter, if not we’ll take him to a kennel 😢 for the holiday.

I have $500 offer, DH $200 offer and DS $500 offer? $1200 savings! I’ll take it!

Wait ... Are you saying offers can be combined? In other words only pay $1500 from one card, then the offer limit for another, etc.?

ETA: Embarrassingly, I never actually set up kid's AU account.
Can I just add their cards to my account?
When I try, I get this message:

ETAA: No need to see an AU's Offers, because they are SHARED with the original card (forgot that part)

I applied for a CIC on Monday - first business card, sole proprietorship, rather low yearly income (I think I put either $1000 or $2000). Got the "received your request, we'll let you know our decision asap" message and e-mail. Still haven't heard anything from them. Is this a normal waiting time to be approved? Any numbers I should call to follow-up on it? I'm getting mixed messages about how to proceed from Reddit posts.
I applied on a Sunday and was approved on Thursday a few weeks back. The only reason I know is because I already have Chase biz cards. The new one appeared in my account. If it's your first card, only way you'll know is if it arrives in the mail, they don't send an email. Otherwise you'll get a denial letter in the mail outlining reasons for denial.

Info on Amex Platinum that I didn't know (but may be common knowledge here?):

My Plat is one year old in Nov and they told me my AF would remain at $550 for another year before increasing to $695, yet I will have the new benefits. I felt like that was a pretty good deal. But I still ask about a retention offer and took 40k MRs for $3k spend in 3 months.

Yes. I always do the minimum on these offers. On our last Carnival cruise, I used 6 offers total (they weren't as high dollar amount as these RCCL ones). Basically everything was paid meeting the offers except for the deposit. I think it's a real advantage of booking way ahead. I had enough time (and luck) that 3 different Carnival offers came around.

Amex Plat Cruise Privileges Program:

For those booking cruises, I just saw this program, which may work for your cruise line if over 5 days and booked thru Amex Travel. Shipboard credit of $100-300.

You don't have to book through Amex Travel, a TA who participants in the program can do it too.

More great info!

How do I find TAs that participate in the Amex program?
Edit: I don’t think we’re allowed to recommend specific TAs

DD has the one Amex AU from my card since she was a teen. It's set up as a separate account. It gets it's own set of offers and can be added, even when duplicates of the original card. It also gets offers occasionally that the original card doesn't get.

I'm not sure what's a good way to find them actually. Which is part of the reason why I haven't used the perk until now. When I did the Cruise Compete quote recently, I noticed that the agency I was going to go with listed it as something they can do.

We have two cancelled DCL cruises. DS is going to be 7 soon.I really want to get on DCL while he can still go in the kids club. Thinking maybe April 2023 or June 2023?
I am so used to traveling in the fall so not sure how peak time prices look.
Are spring break DCL prices similar to June(mid)?

I was kind of shocked that when we switched out Hawaii trip from mid June 2022 to spring break April 2022 everything is so much more expensive. Really killed my budget to have to move but had no choice with our schedule.

It can take a while…my last business application was not an instant approval and the card showed up in my online account 8 days later

Oh, interesting! I was expecting an email of some sort. Will have to wait and see what arrives in the mail! Can business cards be added to the same Chase account with personal cards, or do you need to set up a separate account for those?

DCL prices are through the roof whenever kids are out of school (summer, Spring break, Christmas) because demand is crazy during those times. So I'd say yes, spring break and June will probably look pretty similar.

Just saw this available at Home Depot. I love holiday decorations and really want this!
I typically shop at Lowe’s since it’s close so not sure of how to save at Home Depot. Any tips to get a discounted there? Maybe redeem points for a discounted gift card, anything?
There may be better ways, but off the top of my head, you could buy the Happy GCs that have HD on them at a grocery when it’s a 5x quarter (possibly combining with grocery deals & fuel rewards)

ETA: Now I’m thinking Happy Cards might not have Home Depot on them anymore?
