Definitely not the same. I was sad to read that BA is permanently closing the Elemis Spas at LHR and JFK. That was always a nice little treat.
I know! I was so bummed, too. I suspect it's going to be some time before we see a return of these kind of perks. Airlines are trimming wherever they think they can. Even silly things like no pre-take off drinks still. I'm at least glad the meal service has returned. Not that I enjoy the food on BA much, but it's better than the plastic bag of stuff they were giving us early in the pandemic.

That reminds me ... I'm not sure if I've seen it mentioned here, but I'd still recommend bringing plenty of food along for travel as so many things are still closed/cut back at various airports. Maui was ridiculous. They had basically nothing open when we were departing in early April. Our choice was Burger King or Burger King, LOL. All the gift shops were closed (although strangely they'd been open when we arrived late in the evening!). They also didn't have bathrooms open in one section of the terminal. Crazy. It was a zoo. SFO in mid-march was also limited, although I suspect more has opened by now as our numbers are so good in CA. But better to be safe than sorry!

Be careful with this. Cycling is generally not pleasing to banks.
Thank you for sharing this. Definitely something to be aware of in the future and I appreciate you mentioning it.

Hopefully a pattern of behavior like this over several months would draw concern, rather than a few times. I would hope that Chase would take into consideration that offering large MSRs and then extending small credit lines makes some cycling inevitable.

I swear (quoting Jimmy Buffett) indecision may or may not be my problem.

With my first escrow free mortgage payment about to post, and my escrow balance check just sitting on my countertop (and after losing $400 in VGC), I finally chose a bank bonus. I was first looking at some of the $$$ business bonuses, since I have $33k just sitting in Discover. But the whole purpose of this account is to keep everything separate. So then I looked at the bonuses for savings accounts. The Alliant Credit Union one works perfect! It's a small bonus, $100. And I don't get it for a year. But it requires a $100 deposit monthly, I'll be doing $500. And it earns more than my other current savings accounts, so I make a little money off my escrow as well.

I like the idea of this account for my escrow outside of using it for a bank bonus. And maybe I'll look at some of the other bank bonuses as well to earn something on my $$$$$$$ savings. Has anyone done the PNC bonus for the larger amount. I have the funds to do it, I just don't know if they care if the money just sits there with no movement. There are no requirements on transactions and what not.

I wasn't able to do the larger amount for PNC, it doesn't pull up for me in MN I am thinking of churning the lower one though, it's been two years.

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY does Amex STILL hate me? Does anyone know the longest time stuck in pop-up hell?

The last card I opened was the Delta Gold Biz 10/19. The last one I closed was that one on 11/20. I have 3 cards open w/ active spends of about $1k each a month lately.

Grrrrrrr! Maybe I'll try again just before the referer offer goes away.

p2 has been in pop-up hell for at least 2 1/2 years. I know this because he bought his car two years ago and we put $2k on his card, and he has still not gotten out of pop up hell no matter what we did.

I just asked the Amex chat, and they gave me a number to call. I was on chat anyways double checking my upgrade offer on the Everyday I did.

So that begs the question, since I'm banned from Amex, and the Chase Biz cards are too high right now....what options do I have?

And this is why I plan to stay under 4/24 and keep Chase happy. I'll be done with my CIU MSR soon and was getting antsy to get a new card but I'm just going to put strategic spend on all the cards we have. I have a feeling Amex isn't going to be happy with me, I closed my Delta card.

And for those with this Navy Fed CC, an offer valid thru Aug 31st (now if I could figure how to activate it :( Judique helped me find it):

I'm under 5/24. I'm at 3/24. But the MSR on the Ink cards is too high for me to hit solo, without any kind of big expense coming up. I guess I could look and see when my taxes are due and plan that, LOL. But otherwise I don't see any Chase I want. I guess I could do the citi personal AA cards as I love my AA miles. I know Barclay doesn't love me, but anyone know how churnable the personal AA card is with them? I got that 9/17 and haven't closed it yet. I have the Biz Barclay AA card now, so I could close the personal, since they get the same perks.

I think we are in the same place right now LOL. I hate my AA miles though, so that's not even an option.

I may be crazy or it may totally work. Used my 2 fnc to book the hyatt house Anaheim for july 23-25. Don't think I'll book the air, but as I'll use miles so wouldn't lose anything there either but maybe taxes, I might. If I can get tickets I'll actually use pyb on my csr to cover it. One of the fnc expires at the end of the year and without japan I have zero use for it so why not. Won't miss any work either.

As a related data point - I just applied for the Barclays JetBlue Biz - I closed my previous card in May 2020. I was denied, and reason given was that I had held that card previously.

I didn't recon as I had mixed feelings about dealing with the dreaded Barclays Biz website again - and it seems they can be hit or miss when it comes to applying this previous card rule. TBF, I put minimal spend on my barclays cards so they have probably had enough of me. The reality is I can earn more JetBlue pts per $ on my Chase and Amex cards than on the JetBlue card, so its is a dud for ongoing spend.

Capital One encouraged me to cycle a couple of years ago. I think if its occasional it is ok.
