Can you still cancel even any of the nights? I would rent the points from you for a stay in March!
It was rented directly through a person. I'm not sure what she ended up doing with the points after I told her I wasn't going. Would you like me to ask her if they are still available?

I'm retiring early for the evening, it's been a long day with driving 6 hours in not so great weather so my DH could get his 2nd covid vaccine dose. If you want me to check on it I can send an email tomorrow.

Definitely an opportunity! There are 3 credit card processors, the cheapest is at 1.96%, the other 2 are 1.99. You can do 2 payments with each.

If you are able to be approved for Chase biz cards, you can do Chase Ink Unlimited or Ink Cash, 75k UR for $7500 spend. Or Chase Ink Preferred is 100k UR for $15k spend. They've been giving low CL lately, so that may be an issue. You can support P2 for an extra 20k URs.

The Amex business platinum has a 110k MR for 15k spend offer by support, if you can pull that up. Charges over $5000 get 1.5x MR.

I would do CIU x2 because it's 1.5x anything (but consider the CIC if you can use the 5% categories later on). Plus biz plat x2. $45k MSR - done!

If these don't work for you, can also look at the Hilton biz. $15k spend gets you a free night. The SUB is currently elevated at 150k for $2000 spend, with a $150 credit.
This was incredibly helpful- thanks so much!

I wanted to share an experience I had recently with Chase. I had applied for a Chase card and was denied due to 5/24, which didn't make any sense to me because I should only have been 4/24. I rec'd a copy of my credit report from freecreditreport.com (thanks @miztressuz for that tip) and it turns out they were counting a CIP card from 2019. This didn't make a lot of sense to me, so I called and spoke with a Chase credit specialist who explained that it was because that CIP had been past due for 3 months (last year) then it was reported as an account on my personal credit account.

The reason that card was past due for 3 months was because I had closed it when the AF was due (was going to pc it but I had reduced the CL and didn't leave enough to PC to another Ink card) and there was a small balance ($65 or so) on the card at the time.) The account disappeared from my Chase biz login, so I lost track of it and didn't realize there was a balance. For some reason I had chosen electronic statements instead of my usual paper statements, and so I didn't get those statements in the mail to alert me that there was a balance. I only realized it when I got a call from Chase about it. They ended up removing the late fees and I only paid the original amount plus a small amount if interest.

I fully accept I made a big mistake with this situation in not tracking better that there was a balance and not paying it before closing the card. I also am thinking about signing up for some type of budgeting site that pulls all of your balances into one place (that's a thing, right? Any suggestions on that are appreciated). But I also always pay my cards on time and thought I was being careful and doing the right things along the way, so I wanted to share this situation as a reminder to be extra careful and diligent in checking balances and payments.

Sorry for the super long post, but I hope this helps prevent issues for other people in the future! 🙂

It’s so great you looked into this. A 90 day past due is a fairly big deal on your credit report- so that is the issue I would be concerned about. Given their technical error (the fact that the account with a balance was removed from your view and on electronic statement only) I would contact Chase and request that they reverse the credit reporting. If you don’t make progress there, I would dispute it with the credit bureau.

Ahh ok. That seems not worth the stress lol The flights weren't expensive and were booked with points. Thanks for clarifying! It's spring break and the flights that are left are outrageous if I were to lose our place on these flights!

I too think you should be able to call or chat (the chat agents are great) and have them switch from points to CP.

I finally cancelled our London, Maldives, Singapore, Dubai trip booked for May / June on Sunday.

I have decided that the third time must be the charm and decided that I am going to try to book for the end of April, 2022. Since we won't have as long, plan is London (4 or 5 nights), Maldives (7 nights) and Singapore (4 nights), then home. I am pretty sure that booking the WA Maldives will be a challenge, so I have decided that I will book at the St. Regis Maldives and I am very happy with this decision. I am short approx. 95,000 points, but I can easily offset this with the Cdn biz Bonvoy card and may buy some points to get us to 500,000 Bonvoy points. I will be securing the nights as soon as they become available. If the trip doesn't go in 2022 I will be moving on from trying to get to the Maldives.

I’m really sad you had to cancel this. That’s all- just so disappointed for you.

We’re thinking about staying at the fort wilderness cabins for ds’s first birthday in April. We’ve literally gone nowhere since last March lol. So this would be a big deal. We figured we’d be in our own cabin, can bring food from home to cook, can bring our bikes and bike trailer to pull him around, rent a golf cart, use the splash pad, and see the horses. I’m super excited. We haven’t booked yet because sometimes the Florida resident rates go down the closer you get and we aren’t completely set on dates yet.

Has anyone stayed in the cabins? Advice or tips?
We have stayed in the cabins and did NOT enjoy it. We felt it was so disconnected from everything that it didn’t feel like Disney at all. You need your own transportation everywhere, which took away from the bubble experience. Given that this is a resort only stay, maybe all of the above is irrelevant. Just thought I’d share our experience.

So to your question of whether crowds will still be low at that point, that why I suggested weekdays. Fri/Sat or our trip, we reached a point where we didn't even want to be in the park anymore shortly after lunch. And we probably went during one of the slowest weeks of the year based on what I've seen leading up to our trip and since we returned. I'd imagine April will be busier, BUT I think the weekend factor is going to continue to have a huge affect.

above - if you can make that one day in MK a Mon or even Tues, it might make for the best day!
We would plan to check in on Sunday and just hang out at the resort. Then most likely Monday would be MK! I doubt we will even ride any rides. It’ll just be for the atmosphere. He wouldn’t last standing in line

I don’t remember there being a pack n play in the closet, but maybe one can be requested? Also would recommend bringing your own charcoal etc. as the “disney” price is probably shocking 🤣
I looked it up and it says each cabin should have a pack n play and a sheet. We will plan to bring our own charcoal lol

Yeah we live an hour away and will have a car. We actually are looking to be more disconnected so it should be perfect. We’re not wanting to be around a lot of people in April. That still seems too early for us. I doubt we’ll even have the vaccine by then. The trip would be more just to get away and do the things we normally do at home (bike, swim, walk) but have a different atmosphere

Love all the talk about Costa Rica. Was just looking at the Andaz thinking to maximize Globalist if we get there. Will have to go back through these posts and figure out what is where.
We stayed at the Andaz in November and it was beautiful! We loved it!

Has anyone flown SW to Hawaii? I’d love an honest review - and extra bonus points if the flight was post-Covid!

Southwest 80k Offers remain ALIVE. Some of the support links might show a "redirect" box you have to X out of but the offer is there, and the application still loads! So we're now well over a week past the apply by date on these and they're still going strong.

I know of a friend who used their spouse's support link on this the other day and they said the bonus tracker shows up so the offer is still good!

I'm not sure who would be among us that's interested in this offer who has NOT yet applied... but if you are "that person" and you feel like I'm talking to you right now... then what are you waiting for? 🤣 😂 🤣

We are here now and flew Southwest. I think as long as you go in prepared it’s great! There was a snack service at the beginning of the flight with wheat thins, cheese, snack mix, fruit snacks and tic tacs and water then close to the end they gave more water and some brownie dessert. Bring food, make sure your phone is charged if you want to watch movies, wear a mask and check in right at 24 hours. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks. Don’t have a platinum or a Schwab acct.

I don't either.

@trenty - do you have a Chase Freedom? Rather than use UR at .6 or .7 did you know that you can request cash for them at 1% through a Chase Freedom? It's an option under 'redeem' for a Chase Freedom. You just have to keep scrolling down.

It allows you to direct deposit the cash into your checking or savings account.

I have CSP, CFU and CFF. I plan to use CSP with PYB.
This inquiry was about getting the most from my MRs. That seems to be .7 without the plat/Schwab.
Hoping for some cash back offers on chase or Amex soon. There is nothing there now that would work.

Ooops! I missed a post somewhere!

I was thinking of going to Aulani for a week( using DVC points) and then going to Maui for another week. Need to start researching the hotel cards!

My older daughter wants to go to Aulani on my points. She will have to wait for me to allot out enough DVC points for that. So I suggested she gather up some Hilton points and stay at the Hiltons that people talk about on here. She said, 'I have about 500K Hilton points.' I've got DVC points allotted through 2023, so 2024 is the earliest she can have some.

We haven’t planned that far ahead yet. Still trying to set a retirement date first. 😂
