We got an email yesterday that we are being walked from our Fairfield inn that we are checking into later today. She told me I’d get my FNCs back and she would give me points for my trouble. I felt bad that we are getting it for free, but you are saying I would have also gotten cash if I booked through DH’s plat? I have no status (whatever Amex biz bonvoy gives you) because we always use DH account but I had FNC that needed used by end of this year. Back to finding someplace to use 2 FNC by end of year I guess.
Circling back to this. What is the policy if it was a 2 night reservation that was walked? The email the manager sent me said that my FNCs would be given back and they had set me up with accommodations at the new hotel. Exact wording. I thought that meant both nights were covered. Nowhere did the email say they only covered one night and I had to pay the 2nd night. And when I checked into 2nd hotel they didn’t mention it. I guess it makes sense they wouldn’t cover multiple nights but you think that would have been mentioned in the email somewhere. We only found out because we got locked out of our room while we were out today. The new manager was at first getting testy with us saying we couldn’t even retrieve our luggage without paying for the whole night. He then called the Marriott manager so we could both talk to her and I then asked her for my $100 lol. She said points and money would be sent to me later and the Marriott policy is to only cover one night. The new hotel manager was like I’m going to stop accepting their overflow because another room came in earlier and was arguing with the guy and not nice to him. We tried to be nice. He was appreciative that we were not hostile towards him but the Fairfield is definitely not communicating properly with what is expected of their walks. He said they requested 17 overflows this week and he wasn’t looking forward it. So is the policy only one night?

Circling back to these posts again to report "shockingly" I got diddly from Marriott after this. I emailed the Fairfield manager a couple weeks ago saying just checking in to see about the points/money you promised and got zero response. I tweeted Bonvoy assist and they took my information and said you should hear back from the property soon. That was a week ago and still nada. What is my next step? Honestly I would not have looked for anything additional than my FNC back if it wasn't done in such a poor manor. At least we did have a place to stay. I talked to someone we met at another park and it came out they too had reservations for the same Fairfield and was just told sorry, we don't have a room for you and they couldn't find anywhere else so they ended up having to drive to the next destination early which was over 3 hours away. There really is nothing in between the 2 places.

For all the Biz Plat holders out there: new benefits have been added! And AF went up to $695, same as the personal.
  • $150 Adobe Creative Solutions credit
  • $400 Dell credit
  • $360 Indeed credit
  • $120 Wireless credit
  • Card earns 1.5x points per $1 spent on construction/hardware stores, electronic goods, and shipping

ETA: Employees need to be 18 yrs old for this card, and AUs only 13 for the personal. I was sad to find that out and miss out on the extra 20K/$4K MSR employee card I got for DD.

Miles Morales game!

@disfanforlife there is a way to sign up with Sony directly for releases now. Also Target continues to have a drop about every two weeks in the morning. There are several accounts you can set Twitter alerts for when they go in stock. It continues to get easier. I don't even have alerts on anymore and saw yesterday mornings drop in my feed and was still able to cart one from Target 2 minutes after it went live.
Target would be great! I will look for something on Twitter - I don't use it but I will to try and get one. Thank you.

Anyone had any luck getting Hyatt FNC's extended? I have 2 that expire at the end of the year. I wanted to use them to book a stay in February but so far I'm having no luck with online chat trying to get the certs extended. If this is the case, then I may just ditch the card, without the FNC its not worth a spot to me.

So, nothing like throwing a curveball into my Bday trip next weekend. The plan was to fly into FLL and stay in Hollywood at the Diplomat. I was looking at the weather and I saw rain. Now I know FL rain can be 10 min and then done. While I love me a beach, I really am a NC beach girl, LOL. Plus, it's been still in the 70-80's here in MI. Hell, I was out on my deck in a bikini yesterday. So there isn't a "need" for the beach yet. Couple that with the fact I was using 1 FNC Hilton cert and then points for our stay. But my Hilton FNC doesn't expire till mid next year I think, and I'm about to earn another one. I'm banking on the marriott ones being extended. Which leaves IHG. I have 1 exp 12/31 and then one in April 22, I think. FLL area didn't have a IHG property I liked. I was really hoping to use the IHG certs on a trip to Nashville, but Spirit doesn't fly direct there from DTW and SW/Delta flights are normally $$$ by the time I get the BFs schedule. Spirit does fly direct to NOLA. But I had written it off since they just had the hurricane.

I found a Kimpton in NOLA that looked nice so I booked it. And started my NOLA research. I guess next weekend is Krewe of Boo. Halloween's version of Mardi Gras. And the Kimpton is apparently on the parade route. So as much as I'm a beach girl, I think I'm pivoting to NOLA next weekend instead. Anyone have any suggestions? I've never actually been (flown in and drove to MS). The BF has gone often, it's one of his fav overnights to get....but he admitted it's fully for the food, LOL. Considering I eat like a 5yo (chicken fingers and pizza), I'm not going to care at all about the food (well the beignets). I'm also telling myself we can sneak away in Nov/Dec on the one weekend he gets off a month, and hit FLL then, LOL.

I have spent pretty decent on the personal over the 4 years. I even did a balance transfer to it. Right now it hasn't seen much action. The biz card I hit the bonus and put it away, LOL. Only because the damn website was too damn hard to figure out!

It was the first "points" card I got. I think I got it in 96. And then cancelled at the merger. So maybe my "lifetime" is up. I guess I can look into that. But in general Amex has been hating on me! Which sucks because I have decent spends on each of the 3 cards I have every month. My Delta Gold Biz gets my union dues. My surpass gets my insurance (plus I meet the $15k for the FNC every year) and my Everyday is normally getting spend via Amazon.

I have heard there is an AMAZING, Not-to-be-Missed WWII museum in NOLA.

For our SW flights from Monday that were cancelled by SW, shouldn't they refund my RR's that were used to book the flight? I rec'd an email today with a $250 Luv voucher but so far no points back. Seems strange to me. I kinda think I should get both, is that too much to ask? I ended up having to rebook with a different airline and driving 3 hours to a different airport, plus pay for parking for s week. Any thoughts on what the normal policy would be or what others have rec'd in similar situations?

They should redeposit the RR's. I don't think getting both is asking for too much. I'm wondering if the RR's are being "processed" although at the same time - how long should that take?? Seems like its been long enough but they also probably are redepositing a lot of RR's right now.

Had a major panic attack this morning, but all's good now. I had booked a very expensive Hyatt suite for a trip in February with 180,000 points. This morning I get an email from Chase about a Hyatt offer I redeemed. I was like, I didn't charge anything to Hyatt... so I look at my account and there's a charge from the Hyatt hotel I booked for $4,351 (half the total)! I nearly had a heart attack. I had posted here previously about their cancellation policy, I think it's 50% of the deposit is nonrefundable. So I was freaking out!
I had given my credit card when booking, assuming it was to have on file for incidentals. I chatted with Hyatt who told me they could see it was booked on points and I shouldn't have been charged, so to call the hotel directly. I did and they said it was just a mistake and they would refund the money. Phew!!!
Didn't someone else recently have an issue with Hyatt charging them when they had used points?

Can anyone tell me why the 150k IHG bonus points aren’t included in my balance? When I look at the IHG website I don’t see the 150k points. 613282

So I saw that Staples is doing VGC Sunday. I guess I'll try my "local" one Sunday morning. I discovered there's one kinda by my son's hockey rink and he has practice Sunday and Monday. So I think I'll try there. I'm hoping my CIC is here. Should I SM them to see if I could get it expedited? I think I was approved Monday? Or Tuesday (I think Monday). I guess I'll start buying them up to use on my winter property taxes, which I think are due in Dec/Jan. I guess I'll check "my escrow" acct I have going and see what I have in my balance. But I guess it's technically 0% for 12 mos. Oh but then again, I only have $3k balance. UGH. LOL. Maybe I'll transfer some of the balance on my other CIC to it so I can float it a little longer.

Our hotel is near the WWII museum. I'll have to look into it. I'm not really a history person, but I know the BF does like some of that stuff. Esp the older planes, LOL.

I don't think Hyatt extends FNC. They might give you 10k points for a 15k FNC, but you'd have to wait closer to expiration. Chances are better if you're Globalist.

I only remember a discussion about Hilton doing it some time back. I was charged for my Grand Wailea reservation. It wasn't a lot though and they refunded it without me doing anything a few days later.

I'm just throwing this out there in case it benefits anyone...you can book SW paying with PayPal. I was booking a flight using RR's and saw that you could pay with PayPal. I didn't know that. I know most of us are booking SW with RR's but in case you have to pay, use the PayPal and get 5X UR's with it right now.
I think with the current airline situation everyone should be using their CSP/CSR to pay for flights. I regret not using our CSR when we ended up being stranded in Orlando for 2 nights.
CSP Benefit: If your common carrier travel is delayed more than 12 hours or requires an overnight stay, you and your family are covered for unreimbursed expenses, such as meals and lodging, up to $500 per ticket.

CSR Benefit: If your common carrier travel is delayed more than 6 hours or requires an overnight stay, you and your family are covered for unreimbursed expenses, such as meals and lodging, up to $500 per ticket.

Is this for any FNC or just the anniversary one? I got one this year for spend i think but it expires in Oct and I won’t use it. I guess it can’t hurt to ask. Is there an SM feature on Hyatt app or do I have to call?

The DPs I've seen people don't tend to distinguish the type of FNC, so hopefully it's any? There is a chat function on the app. But I like to contact the Twitter Hyatt Concierge instead. They seem more knowledgeable. The weekday crew seems better than the weekend too. But maybe it was just luck of the draw.
