Sorry, the 6 am flight is leaving Richmond going to ATL. And yes on Marta (although DS will gripe as public transportation isn't his thing). Last time we were in ATL in April, Uber was insanely expensive (as in $35 to go two miles). And thankfully we both have TSA precheck and I have Clear. And this is the other Ritz--the one downtown. But I do want to get to Buckhead:)

I do think arriving at 6 PM Saturday makes more sense since DS is coming. Otherwise I'm in for a long day. And this way DD doesn't feel obligated to spend too much time with us (my only expectation is hopefully dinner on Saturday and breakfast/brunch on her birthday. Plus less time away from the nutso puppy who is velcroed to me.
About ten years ago I decided no early am flights unless there was really no alternative. That's funny that your DS gripes about public transportation--I recall some trips where my kids begged to take public transportation rather than a car service because they did not want to stand out as tourists, even though with 6 of us it sometimes would have been cheaper to hire a driver.

I'm not sure if all cards earning TYP have access to the same rewards. Until earlier this year, the Citi Premier could book travel etc at 1.25 but they recently changed to 1x. I also have a Sears card that gets TYP and earns a ton of points because they send bonus offers. I had to transfer those points to Citi Rewards card (and transferring is limited to 50k points per year IIRC)in the past and did so in April this year and got 3 five day WDW tix. I logged into to my Sears TYP portal last week to see access to stuff I could only access on Premier before so maybe I could book Disney etc with my Sears TYP now but I haven't tried. I did use 8k points to book a private car from ORD to the Hilton we will be staying at in 2 weeks.
ETA the SUB on Citi Premier is 80k, which is $800 of Disney hotels if that's what you're interested in.
That looks like a decent card. I don’t love the AF but don’t mind it if the card ends up being worth it for us. Dh is next for getting a new card. I’ll share it with him and see what he thinks. We’ve been over 5/24 for awhile because we weren’t getting approved by chase so we moved to other companies

Got an offer on DH's Amex Cash Magnet to upgrade to BCP, no AF the first year, $150 statement credit after $1000 spend. We don't use the card much, and I think it was an upgrade from a BCE a few years ago, so may as well do it.

I keep checking on our late Sept SW flights, no changes yet.

I received an email last night on a 9/16 flight that was changed…can’t switch city parings anymore and can make 1 change to 14 days before or after…

I'm just hoping it doesn't change. We have nonstops both ways DCA - MCO. I never had any occasion to take advantage of the previously liberal change windows. Just want the flights I booked!

After 3 emails and the final email giving me assistance and a call to Choice Privileges, I have my points back that they took for non-use during the pandemic. Of course, I had already purchased reduced priced points since my mom’s 2 night OCMD stay for my sister’s wedding would have been over $1000 or $445 for 60k points for the nights. Now to make sure we use them before they expire again.

$95 is on the low end of annual fees for cards that have decent rewards. 80,000 TYP are worth at least $800 (and likely more). On top of that, few cards have a nice grocery bonus attached to both dining and gas. Citi Premier gets 3x on all of those, so it still has value even after you earn the SUB. It's a no brainer if you're not looking to get back under 5/24.

I have my first flights in 2 years booked in September on SW. got an email yesterday that our departure non stop flight is changed to one with a layover and worse time. Then today our return was changed but still a non stop and it’s a better time. I was able to change the one I didn’t like to a non stop later in the day, but I had to cancel my P2 first because he is my CP.

Have you considered the Freedom Flex?
$200 bonus plus 5% cash back grocery store offer
Earn a $200 bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. And earn 5% cash back on grocery store purchases (not including Target® or Walmart® purchases) on up to $12,000 spent in the first year.
0% intro APR for 15 months from account opening on purchases and balance transfers.
Thankyou ! That looks great- thanks for the recommendation!

We have a mail offer that’s a better SUB so we’re considering that one instead. We’re also considering an Amex card for Dh if he can get it without the popup. We only get groceries from target. I’m not sure if that would count as grocery with citi

Tomorrow is the last day we can cancel our Portofino Bay reservation and not lose the deposit.
I never would have thought a month ago I would be considering it.
The massive crowds in Florida and the rising COVID cases have me thinking about pushing it back while 🤷‍♀️

Joining the "SW changed my flight" club for September. I've been watching for it all day.

The new flight times aren't too bad actually. Departs half an hour later, lose 10 minutes in our Baltimore stop-over and arrive in Norfolk 25 minutes later. I think I'm going to leave it, DH will be dropping us off and that will get him back home in time to log in to work. Plus, there are no non-stops and I'd rather not arrive late afternoon/evening.

I wonder if they're going to change my return flight.

Agree it’s frustrating…..watching our flights since we are going to Disney in October for our granddaughters first trip and want to make sure if they change the flight I have some idea beforehand what the options are going to be to discuss them with my daughter
