Okay and I did it! Back from NC. I know we're keeping this Rona free overall, I have to say being in NC is a WORLD different than the grounding we're living here in MI! Not many in masks, including kitchen staff and wait staff. Condiments on the tables, all tables being used, etc. Again, I know this group is staying Rona free....but I do have to say, if myself and the kids don't test positive in the next 14 days, well then I'll totally be questioning why Michigan is so locked down (rumor mill is, we're going back to Stage 3, which will close up everything but grocery stores). We did what we've been doing all along, while in NC. Staying away from people as much as one can, washing hands frequently, etc.

My children have fully embraced the NC beach lifestyle and fully support my mission to buy a rental/vacation home there Most things were still closed, so all we really did was visit various beaches. I don't feel like I got my fix, so I joked I'm going back this week without them....honestly I might do it in 2 weeks before I go back to school. Not looking forward to that, and could probably use a week at the beach for my soul.

I tried checking dischurners to see if there are any recent posts on the Sapphire double dip there but couldn't find anything. The AF on my Reserve is coming up in October and it will be 4 years since I received it. Does anyone know the recent success rate of the dd? I may give it a try since I will have the second payment of dd's residence and tuition due in January.

I'm in the same boat as you. I was planning on cancelling and then doing a new sign up. But since they dropped the AF to $450 again, I think I'm going to ride it out for one more year. And then decide what to do next fall (CSP or CSR).

That's how it was for me. I know the first restaurant I tried worked (a local thai place) but I'm not sure all restaurants work. There's a schedule on Doc. Most of the weekly deals are pretty decent.

I SM’d Chase about matching the CF grocery 5% offer on my new card and heard back from them today. The response is a little confusing. It sounds like they’ll give me 5% back until end of Sept. Does it read that way to you all? It’s supposed to be good for the first year. I thought they’d either match the offer or not. This sounds more like a partial match, which is fine, I’m grateful for anything. But it just seems strange. Here’s the wording:

I think the SUB 5% grocery cash back for the first year is for the CFU. Did you get the CF or CFU?

I got the CF, not the CFU. But I believe the SUB is on either card.

I made a reservation to use my Hilton card weekend night cert in Dec. Is it typical for them to also charge a deposit? I got charged, also the confirmation lists 80,000 points used, which they told me would be credited back after my stay?

Just recently received BOA Premium Rewards cards for DH and I. $3000 Spend worth $500. Almost done with MSR on one of them and have tuition due in August/September so was looking for another card to use for MSR. I just signed up DH for the BOA Business Advantage Cash Rewards MC. Instant approval. This one is $5000 spend in 90 days. Will have that used up right away. Wasn't sure if they would approve or not since we just got the other cards and no banking relationship with them. Very happy since the Business card won't count in 5/24 and there is no annual fee on this card.

That’s great you get to do vbs in person. We did ours this week virtually but the videos are available for a week. Sad we couldn’t do it in person as the kids and adults look forward to it each year.

Ours was a virtual one this week too. We also look forward to vbs every year so pretty disappointed. We’re at wdw so not home to do the virtual. I offered to do it next week with my boys but they weren’t too interested. It’s just not the same at home.

. I’m so sorry. I absolutely appreciate the magnitude. You practice all year for th QH Congress. For horse show people it is the equivalent of passing on the World Series.

Pretty much. It’s wild, but there’s no doubt it had to be done. Even if you limited it to trainers/help/exhibitors that’s still waaaaay too many people. There’s no way they would’ve been able to have the trade show. Fortunately, my husband wasn’t planning to show this year since he noviced out at Congress last year and we weren’t going to up just for the amateur. But we were planning to try to get his horse sold there and, well... I don’t see the horse going anywhere now this year.

Coming in to say Mom is doing AMAZING!!!! Thursday it felt like her left leg wasn’t getting good messages from her brain. While sitting in a wheelchair she had difficulty sliding her foot forward and then bringing it back to a neutral position. We did some seated marching in place. She used an exercise band to assist her left leg. Today she did four 75 foot laps around my kitchen and living room throughout the day. We are practicing on a 4 inch step. She still needs help going from lying to sitting and help pottying but I expect a full recovery.

Ours was a virtual one this week too. We also look forward to vbs every year so pretty disappointed. We’re at wdw so not home to do the virtual. I offered to do it next week with my boys but they weren’t too interested. It’s just not the same at home.

Yeah it’s totally different. I miss the in person. Plus I always was a leader so I miss seeing all the kids excitement. Hopefully next year we will be on our road trip to see the national parks.

Yep. I’ve led every year for 15 years. So sad not to get that joy this year. I lead another weekly program during the school year. Just found out we’re having it but we’re only meeting in person one week a month. I’m disappointed but happy we at least get to meet once a month!

That’s better than all virtual. Kids are disappointed they don’t get to see their friends at school and church.
