Fried Shrimp with coleslaw for lunch at Crazy Crab right after we drive onto the island.
Edited to add and a tall glass of sweet tea with a bowl of lemon slices for me.
Beautiful marshes with dozens and dozens of sea birds and other wildlife.
Early morning walks on the packed sand on the wide beaches to watch the sun rise, the dolphins jumping and the shrimp boats bobbing on the water. Little pools of water to search for sharks teeth in the sand. Starfish and shells after a stormy night. Turtles nesting in the sand and leaving their trails as they go back out to sea. Want to be fishermen on vacation setting up their chairs and casting a line into the shallow surf.
Evening walks on the beaches to watch the sun set over the marshes. Riding bikes on the beach by the sea. Other people riding horses on the beach. People watching on the beach as people walk their dogs, play with their kids and enjoy their families.
Things other people do: shopping, eating, movies, golfing, mini golfing.
Nearby attractions: Pinckney Wildlife Refuge and the Savannah Wildlife Refuge - watch out for alligators in the little ponds - they really are there.
A couple of hundred good restaurants hidden all over the island. I really mean hidden - get a dining guide and good directions.
I'm not finished but you get the idea - it's a relax place not a get up and go place, but we love it and my kids have grown up going there over the last 40 years.
Unless they didn't get on the boat yet...
