@Alexle2007 @Judique I am probably remembering wrong but did one of you stay at the Sheraton Sand Key in clearwater? I'm looking for a one night stay there and that came up at 35k. I have a few certs so I could use those there (we'd need two rooms). Just wondering if you had any thoughts or another suggestion for a FNC redemption there?

@Alexle2007 and I stayed there same time. I liked that it was away from the busy Clearwater beach area and @Alexle2007 family preferred their stay on the busier section. Hotel itself was alright. Just depends on what you are looking for.

Looking over the next wave of Disney cruises. There's a couple I am interested in! We'll see when the first prices hit tomorrow. I'm kind of excited... but this would mean I would definitely cancel those cruises I've got booked for next year already. Which is okay. I don't know why, but my gut is telling me I need to stay on a Disney boat. Maybe it's all the Diamond Princess coronavirus chaos or something.
I wish I could say I'm interested in some. There is not one European cruise they offer that I haven't been to at least 70% of the ports. I'd love to do an adventure by Disney tour in Asia or South America, but every time I look at the prices I laugh...and then I cry.

I think we prefer quiet beach (though my kids might like the busier atmosphere). The rooms look pretty old online but it is only one night so maybe we can deal. I like free, of course!

Thanks for the response.

I think it actually got colder in Orlando than it did here. We usually are a couple degrees or so warmer. I had two jackets and pants on the other night on our walk.

Lots of people had medals today at Disney springs too. We also noticed tons of people from south America
When I took dd down a few weeks ago, it was colder in Orlando than in Denver o_O And the sun is so intense here and the air so dry that we are warm at much lower degrees but the temps were actually warmer! I was freezing a lot of the time in Orlando.

ETA: My dd has been cold a lot since she's been there and having to wear a coat and she never wears a coat here lol.

Here are 2 pics that show the difference. One was taken during the summer when the beaches were more busy. The 2nd one was taken when we went New Years week and it was really too cold to be in the water so it is actually probably 1/4 of the people that were there in the summer.

I walked the beach every day and this is what I got. Lots of no one to be seen. This was during busy summer season. My idea of perfect. Lol. It is more crowded in front of hotel and there are chairs set up.

This was taken later in the day on a cold day in January and still super crowded. This was taken from the pier in the main Clearwater beach area.

Wow that is a huge difference! Were there walkable restaurants from Sand Key?

Any pros/cons for booking chase points for a rental car for a few days next month in Hawaii. I have never done it before and am on the fence. Thanks
I've booked several cars through Chase including our minivan in Hawaii. I've never had an issue, except the one time I used Alamo. The issue was not related to Chase at all, it was just Alamo and upcharging and desk attendant that lied. At any rate, I stick to National and Enterprise now. I cancel and rebook when rates drop and never an issue.

Others said it worked in the past for them so I went for it. I took a screen capture of the fine print, I don't see in store only wording. I had it on three cards so used all three.
Did you happen to use a portal that paid? My Staples is just too far to really be worth it for me unless I'm headed in that direction for something.

My husbands company only flies with Delta. They also pay for his TSA PreCheck, which is something we need to consider as well. DS and I will need to renew ours for that trip.

I'm definitely going to have to do my math with those flights. ::yes::

I am just catching up now from today. I would say that if you are a Delta hostage just accept that reality and work within those parameters. You can fly both within the US and internationally with Delta and its partners. Once you embrace that premise (Delta is home airline because it is easiest/cheapes) that means deciding to delve into Amex cards. The Delta cards personal and business have a lot of potential as do any of the MR earning cards. DH and I have a lot of Chase cards but they get little spend once MSR complete. I have absolutely no use for Southwest or United, and even limited use for Hyatt points. I basically look at the UR earning cards as cash back at this point as I got tired of trying to fit them into anything else. I still Ike them and enjoy earning UR’s but it is a little freeing to stop worrying about a good redemption with them.

Amex cards will probably mean some AF’s but I accept that as a cost of playing the game. The potential to earn is quite good especially when you have a P2. MR’s have a lot of value when at minimum they can be transferred straight across to Delta.

Great news! Two hands, two feet, or two eyes are ALL worth 100%! What a deal!
This sounds like a Trader Sam joke from the Jungle Cruise!!

But what's my head worth? Can they beat Trader Sam who will give me two of his for only one of mine?
CRAP...I'm like 13 hours late on that joke!

Quick question, What are they referring to?

Blue Cash Preferred Card from American Express
Superstores
and warehouse clubs that sell groceries and gas will not qualify for bonus rewards in the supermarket and gas station categories. If you do most of your grocery and gas spending with merchants like that, this isn’t the card for you.

Which stores does this mean, Walmart, Meijer, Kroger Marketplace? Thanks!

Just confirmed on my statement, Meijer codes as 6% grocery on BCP. This is in SE Michigan.

Yes! And when the phone rings and they say they can help me consolidate my credit card debt... and I say I don’t have any credit card debt ... long pause... well you must have some....everyone has some... nope- NONE! THrows them off.
Every once in awhile when I was bored I used to mess with the student loan calls. "We can help reduce your payment by $XX!" Oh really - wow...please tell me more. "blah blah blah". So you really can save me at least $250 a month?? "Yes - what are you paying now?" Well I pay $0, I don't have any but I'll gladly take the $250........ CLICK!

I can actually see this happening. Crazy but Disney is crazy. I just priced the MK dessert party for my dh, dd19 and myself in early April. It was going to almost $300 :crazy2: For some fireworks and sugar. I.Just.Can't.
That is insane! The inclusion of alcohol helped that price go up even more. SMH Remember when MK wouldn't even serve it? Wasn't all that long ago!

Ah, is that what drove the price so high!?! I wish there was an option for those who don't want alcohol. I didn't see any difference in the pricing. And no, wasn't all that long ago that MK was a dry park.

We are looking at these cruises as well and think we are going to book the 11 night Mediterranean Greek Isles as a graduation present for DD. We have never traveled internationally and I’m a bit overwhelmed thinking about how to book the airfare. We typically only fly Southwest, so this will be a whole new experience on many levels.
