Temperature here in my part of Maryland is going up to 58 degrees today so I have to get Disney off my mind and get dressed and go outside and do some light maintenance around my yard.

Spent the last hour calculating how to spend some DVC points. I want to go back to WDW in March or April. Already scheduled for Hilton Head in 3 weeks from yesterday. I was thinking of a side trip from there. Leave Hilton Head on my last day and check into my new favorite Residence Inn for a night and then head for Orlando early the next morning. Try to get any DVC property last minute - rooms often open up here and there for a night or two. Meanwhile, use my SeaWorld/Busch Gardens ticket for 1 day. This would be while offsite using some other points somewhere. It's only 300 miles from Hilton Head so as an add on not that bad.

Ok, obviously having after the trip FOMO and want to do it again. Maybe this will subside in a few days as I start making lists and plans for HH.

I did book some BCV for January 2021. Hopefully if family uses the house in February I'll be invited. They are tied still to school/college breaks so probably Presidents Day week like this year. No annual pass for Jan/Feb of 2021. Won't start another until Nov 2021. So, I have non expiry tickets if I want to go.

I had no idea you could order the specialty sundaes and stuff from the walk up counter. I’m kind of tempted to keep the ADR anyway just to see the new inside and sit down. I need to think about it a little more before I make a decision. I definitely wanna catch yehaa bob at POR though!
we enjoyed eating at Boatwrights (and then Yeeha Bob bc he's the best fun!) I am gf so I loved the GF chicken and waffles.... I seem to recall beaches and cream, you could order just about anything from the window, except you had to call it something different (this was a few years back) like the 'official' no way jose was only sitdown, so I just ordered a sundae with the exact same toppings etc at the window....(like 3 times on a long weekend lol) it's hard to recommend restaurants bc everyone has different tastes...

My Mom came home on Friday,,said it was uglier down there than here at home in the NE!

Haha - I must have just got out in time on Friday. It was misty but not yet too cold. I drove away around 9ish. As I drove north I had a little drizzle here and there but mostly missed any major weather event. The snow was already on the ground in North Carolina but roads were bone dry. Got home to higher temps and no snow as it was a mid to southward band of weather that came through on probably Wednesday or Thursday.

Friday was a stark contrast to the earlier 2 weeks of my trip where it stayed in the 80ties during the days, but dropping to low 60 wasn't that traumatic for me. It's the 20ties that I dread.

I don't think my question from last week got answered....when going for the free Hilton nights on Amex...can I do Staples/VGC with no issues? I might as well try to get the 2 free nights from the Surpass and Biz accounts. But that means $30k in spendin, so I need to MS that since I'm sure I'll have MSR as well to meet during this time.

I did last year with both a Biz and personal card, no problems.

We have ordered sundaes from the walk up before too. But also have a ressie for our last day just because we haven’t eaten there in so long. And usually by the end of the trip I don’t want such a big meal. Knowing me I could just get ice cream for dinner. 😂
I think we’re gonna keep it and go in for ice cream. It’ll be nice to sit inside and take a break. Then we’ll decide whether we want to eat at boatwright’s or not

Ah okay that makes a lot of sense. I’ll talk to Dh again and see what he wants to do. I’m not sure what time to get an ADR for boatwright’s because idk how long we’ll do pictures at YC and then get ice cream.

One more Hilton free night question. Does the free night hit your acct as soon as you hit the $15k? I have the surpass and the biz and both will renew in Oct. I will be cancelling the biz. So if the night doesn't post till after your AF, there's no sense in earning on on my biz acct.

I think you would be safe making a day of reservation or even just walk up. There's usually a lot of availability there.

Hmmm, I had a BOA card that they product changed on me (and a Spirit one I closed). I've gotten "pre-approved" emails for a card I want (ironically the one the PC'd me from) as it has the 0/0 offer on balance transfers. Do you think I'll be okay since pre-approved? I'm not as high as you, but I have quite a few cards, LOL.
Idk on MSing that Hilton night as I don't but if I wanted to try that I'd buy some now and see how it posts to your account. Do you get points for it? Does it move the ticker towards the free night on your account? I'd also keep in mind the risks. Amex is not a fan of gift card purchases so you are risking Amex shutting you down if they review your account someday (more likely when you're meeting an MSR though). The other risk is if it works it could stop anytime, you could get part way there and all of the sudden it stops working so you're out any money you've spent purchasing or liquidating the cards.

BoA pre-approved don't mean anything. I was pre-approved for cards I was denied. I'm particularly frosty towards them over the biz card I did where they asked for a bunch of paperwork including 2 years of taxes that I sent in and then they denied me for too many accounts recently opened or something. They DARN well know that before they got a good look at my last 2 years of finances! (They've done that to others as well.)

I get the chase rule. What I'm unclear on is opening a few different CCs at once.
DH wants BoA - we bank there.
I want CIP and AMEX Blue Everyday

What are the risks/disadvantages?

I talked to dh and we cancelled our beaches and cream adr. I want to get pictures at sunset and it’ll be too hard to time it I think. We’re just gonna do the walk up counter for ice cream

or you could get some more exercise and walk over to Ample Hills.
(This from someone who has eaten and had ice cream from B&C multiple times in the past and really doesn't care and would be just as happy to get a container of Hagen Daz from the Boardwalk store.)

In this sense you and he are swperate as you shpuld not add each other as AU*. He can do the BOA just fine but if its a personal it will add to his 5/24.
For you, grab the Chase first and then get the Amex. No problems. Amex doesn’t care and Chase doesn’t either as long as you stay under 5/24 and haven’t gone crazy on personla cards by the time you are ready for your next Chase biz.

*For the CIP you can get DH an employee card and it won’t count against his 5/24 as it doesn’t report to personal credit.
