Sudden large expense for next month came up - I am 5/24, DH is 4/24 but just got a CIP Jan 9. Please refresh my memory about spacing between the CIP and a personal Chase card - is it 90 days? If he can't do another Chase card, I guess either of us could go for a card from another provider. I've got cards falling off in April., May, and June so not too worried about that aspect.
The spacing is 90 days between all chase cards. Why not go for an Amex business card? Maybe Barclay?

I've never figured out a good way to use MRs. When DH had a gold card we just cashed out for Home Depot GC because that was 1:1. I'll have to do some research! I think I probably have a better chance of getting an AmEx card than DH, have a better spending relationship with them.

I did see something about Bank of America Premium Rewards, but also posts that say they like you to have a banking relationship with them. I wonder if opening an account with them would give me an edge to immediately apply.

Sitting in bed in Puerto Rico. Very warm here! The Caribe Hilton is great. Just got an email from DCL about coronavirus. Folks who have traveled through or to China now can’t cruise.

Lots of people were wearing masks at the airport today.

Been up since 3am - going to rest up. Big tour tomorrow!

The *recommended* spacing is 90 days but that’s all it is, a recommendation to help stay safe. If you really want a Chase card might be worth the gamble to just go for it. Safest play would be an Amex though. And bonus points to Amex for the temp cards (except sometimes DL temp cards only work on Delta.com but aside from that the temp cards are good if the spend is online).

Have so much fun on the trip and pack your tissues!! I feel like this has been so long in the making and am so excited for ya'll!!!!
I’ve been a faucet for like 2 weeks now. I keep thinking there can’t be any tears left and yet, every time I see her saying goodbye to another person, I lose it! Watching her cry over leaving her dad and sister is really gut-wrenching. Thanks for the reminder for tissues!

Be sad, but focus on the wonderful opportunities she will have. Missing my daughter a ton this week, she is states away now and I don't know when I'll see her. I guess whenever we finally head up to DC for dh to check in at work maybe, if he ever decides to do that. I did okay at first, distracted with holidays and vacation, but this week it's sinking in I guess.

California trip planning question-
We are planning DL for 2021. I think it will be early May. I’m leaning-
First 3 nights/4 days DL
Next 4 nights SD for Legoland, zoo, grandma (hopefully- shes 95), and beach/explore day. Is there anything else worth doing near DL/SD with two toddlers? 7 nights feels almost short for flying so far! Just trying to figure our if its worth extending to add anything.
How about a beach day? Or even just a beach morning or a beach afternoon. Could be a nice break from all the go go go. And, kids love the beach no matter what age. In San Diego I recommend a trip over to Coronado and the Hotel Del Coronado. The beach at The Del is absolutely gorgeous. The little town there is cute too and you could stop for lunch at the Coronado Brewery. Another option further north is La Jolla, very pretty and a cute town there as well. Closer to Disneyland I would recommend Laguna Beach, again absolutely stunning. Sounds like a fun trip!

Have any of you seen 1917? I think dh and I are gonna go see it tomorrow

I did. I recommend it highly, but just be aware there are some scenes that may not be for the squeamish. Also, I’m a lover of history and documentary type movies, not so much romantic or comedic movies, so factor that into my recommendation. I think the most telling thing about the movie is that after it ended, only one group of people got up and left immediately. The rest of us just sat there in silence as the credits rolled.

For those that have a Schwab account, is there something special that you have to do to transfer in funds? I set up and verified two external bank accounts. Test deposits went through fine to Schwab. I then ach'd funds in and both banks had the transfers reversed.

Sounds like something I'd like, but would rather wait to watch at home

I have a question.... I read on another FB group that you should always call the hotel directly and double check your reservation if you book E*pedia..... b/c there's a chance you could have no res. when you arrive.... is this for real? Since UR portal is E*pedia, should I be calling the Uni hotel we're booked for? Argh.... (I need to get my entire extended fam to do this if that's true...)

My son mentioned this movie to me (he’s a movie buff and knows I’m a history buff). He told me this movie was shot with one just one long continuous take (if I’m understanding what he said correctly), which seems amazing to me. I’d be interested to see it too.

I now do...first reservation made with URs prior to the change in systems....never made it to Wyndham Bonnet Creek ...spent from 10am to 3pm...calling Chase, Wyndham etc...each blamed the other...in the end the reservation was honored....but I now call the hotel directly to get their confirmation number

Ugh tested positive for the flu today. Started tamiflu although my flu symptoms are pretty mild at the moment. I'll have to see if I have any side effects from the tamiflu and whether those are worse than another day of the flu.

My primary symptom is a cough that is causing a stabbing pain in my upper chest. Can anyone recommend an OTC cough medicine that actually works?

Robitussin, or Theraflu.. works for us...

Good luck!!! So exciting but I understand the mixed emotions! Just have her go to Africa for 6 months and Orlando would seem like a piece of cake. haha You have some exciting visiting to look forward to, just concentrate on that. You got this.
