I'm no @SouthFayetteFan but I do keep a detailed spreadsheet of all of our Chase UR activity. I pulled up DH's CIP which paid out a bonus in November. Our graph looks the same and I agree it's super confusing with the 80K earned and then removed. I can confirm that my points balance on that card is fine and I have the full 80k plus whatever I earned on the $5k spend. Looking through the detailed activity I can see the 80k earned on the purchase in November that put us at the $5k spend and there is no negative amount (except where I transferred the full balance over to my CSR to get 1.5x).

That’s wonderful news! I’m going through mine now, along with redemptions. We haven’t redeemed too much, but it’s taking a bit. I’ll post when I have the results.
Thank you.

I noticed this on my account too and thought the same thing, but I checked my spreadsheet and the total URs number was correct. It was one of those moments when I was really thankful for my spreadsheet tracking.
Do you track your redemptions as well as bonuses? I’ve always just done the SUBs.

Just so I’m clear n 1099s...
1) They‘ll only send if at least $600 and
2) If the amout is less than $600 and I don’t get a form, it still needs to be reported.

Welp I canceled my airport hotel reservation for Thursday night. DH is in some adult soccer league and he doesn't want to skip his game Thursday. His start time is 10pm (seriously). We'd get to hotel around midnight and have to checkout around 5. I'm not paying $220 for that. :rolleyes2

So we're staying at our house and just making the hourish drive at zero-dark thirty on Friday morning. I despise very early flights but there was no other way for us to get to Puerto Rico.

1) not always. Ive gotten a $300 from citi before.
2) you need to double check and make sure the company did not issue one out. Your best bet would be to call and ask. if they dont know, and u see no tax forms on your account, then u "can" not report it. If they do in fact have a form out, then the IRS will penalize you saying that you "should" of known. its a really bad situation to be in, safe side, report it. take the risk, save some money.

Note: i am not a CPA and everything i have said is based on what ive seen from my own tax returns and others. For a better response, its best you ask a CPA.

The problem was he wasn't in my account. I always book everyone separately and one way. Then I can cancel and change easier. It didn't show in his account or my account. So there wasn't any links
For tickets not tied to someone else you can go through Manage Reservations. Take the confirmation number and enter it and the passenger's name on the Manage Reservations page, it'll pull up the ticket and show those links. That's how I got the screenshot.

I need to get a pizza hut GC online for a friend of mine.

I got one back in June and on my statement it appeared as "Pizza Hut GC".

I am in the MSR period on an American Express Card.

Think Amex will be angered by that?

@ten6mom nope. Amex doesn’t like cash equivalent GCs like visa/MC ect. Maybe if you were buying your whole MSR in pizza GCs some flag would appear, but I think you are fine haha
Oh good, thank you! I mean, I'll meet the MSR anyway no problem but I just don't want them to freak out (not that I'd ever know why they freaked out, of course!)

did u have to amend your taxes last year? they gave me a 1099 for that i think.
i only had one referral bonus last year and i got one for that too.
Imho like hell paying for your tax fix is taxable income. You did not provide a good or service!

Oh wow, actually got an upgrade offer on my plain AmEx Bonvoy card  I feel special now. :lovestruc Like part of the in-crowd.

It's not a great offer - 50k Bonbon points for 2.5k in spend. But I'll always remember my first

(And memory could be all I have of it. I don't know how to pull it up again after clicking it to see the spend requirement. Now it's gone. )

600 is a guideline. They have to send one if $600 or over, they can send one under :(

Technically yes you should report all income earned without spend (bonuses for spending money are not income)...

I won’t touch gift cards or any sort while hitting a spend on Amex. But I’m paranoid like that.

DH got the same offer emailed to him a few weeks ago. Not worth it to me for a $450 AF tradeoff.

DS has requested to go back to WDW as he is tired of USO. So I am now quickly turning something together for March to celebrate his 13th birthday before our Harmony of the Seas cruise.

I can use points to stay at Swan or Dolphin for basically free

Or Boardwalk Inn for $1600.

Our flight gets in at 6:30 pm on Thurs and we’ll check out on Sun to get to PC.
Fri and Sat will be our park days at DHS and Epcot.

Which one would you choose? I am leaning towards the free but can’t choose between the two. They are basically the same price.

I always choose the free. Well most of the time. 1600 ain’t cheap. I actually try to maximize Hilton and Marriott points with status I have to get the free night with stay 4 nights and get the fifth free on points. Basically a 20 percent discount on points but in your case that isn’t possible.
